Chapter 39

Dwight’s POV

“Shit!” We were startled when Crater suddenly stood up, fury filling his eyes.

“Crate, what’s going on?” Selene asked, staring straight into her brother’s eyes.

Crater looked at her—his eyes now red. That was a sign that something was boiling inside him, but I knew he wasn’t angry at his sister… it was at whatever he had just found out.

“This is Crescene, sis. I’ll tell you what happened, but call everyone—especially Beta Josh.”

I was shocked by what Crater’s Wolf said. What does Josh have to do with this?

Crescene’s gaze shifted to me. “Prepare yourself for what’s about to happen, my sister’s mate.” The way he said it gave me chills.

He turned away. The power of the Aeons truly was awe-inspiring—unlike Alphas, they didn’t even need a commanding tone for their orders to be obeyed.

I just stood there, jaw slightly open, watching Rose’s brother walk away—when he suddenly stopped and turned back to me. I swallowed hard. Oh no… I’m dead.

“Hey, Kuya Dwight! Gather the Pack members, we’re about to teach someone a lesson.”

I let out a sigh of relief—thankfully Crescene had given Crater back control, or else I’d be shivering every second.

I nodded and glanced at my wife—she was frozen, holding our child.

“Love, come on, stand up.” I guided her to her feet.

She hugged me tightly, trembling, and whispered something that made all my thoughts stop cold.

“They took Rose… the Lycans and rogues took her.”

She sobbed, clutching me even tighter. My poor mate, always in pain. I rubbed her back gently.

“I promise, my love… we’ll get Rose back. We’re family, and family should be together.” I whispered, then placed a tender kiss on her forehead. I’d had enough of these Lycans and rogues.

If I saw even one of them in my territory, I’d tear them apart—piece by piece. I’d make them suffer the way they made my mate suffer.

“Pack meeting! NOW! NO ONE IS EXEMPTED!” My voice thundered inside every mind of my pack members.

When I finished, I carried Selene in my arms like a child, placed Darren on my back for a piggyback ride, and used my Wolf’s speed and strength to reach the Pack House.

All members of the Silver Moon Pack were already gathered in front of our home. I set my wife and child down and faced them.

That’s when I noticed Lester and Crater holding Josh tightly. He was struggling. I looked at Crater, silently asking why—he nodded.

“This guy—your Beta—betrayed us. He’s one of them.” Crater mindlinked me.

I cursed silently. Bullshit! I knew it!

“Damn! Why did you do this to us, Josh?!” I roared, using my Alpha tone so he’d be forced to answer. Whimpers broke out among the pups and some frightened pack members.

“What are you talking about, Alpha? I don’t understand,” Josh said, sounding genuinely confused.

“I’ll explain, Kuya,” Crater said, now dead serious.

I stepped down so he could take my place and say what needed to be said.

“Beta Josh is guilty of treachery,” he announced after stepping forward. The crowd fell silent, tension thick in the air.

“He’s one of them—our enemies—along with his sister. And they kidnapped my sister, your Luna’s sister.”

Gasps erupted. Murmurs spread among the crowd.

“No! I haven’t done anything to harm the Pack!” Josh shouted back at Crater. Selene stayed silent, but I could feel her hatred and pain.

“Then why were you and Keira outside in the dead of night while everyone else was sleeping?” Crater’s question cornered him—Josh had to defend himself before we could pass judgment.

He broke free from Lester’s grip and sighed. “I… I talked to my sister that night, telling her I was quitting—leaving them for good. I was done being one of them.” His voice was heavy with sadness, and I could tell he was telling the truth.

We’d been close friends for years. I knew when he was lying and when he wasn’t.

“Logan killed my mate—mercilessly. I disappeared for days to bury her in a neutral territory near the Pack. They killed the woman I loved because I told them I was leaving. I’ve grown attached to this Pack. This is my home… this is where I want to die.” His voice broke, tears streaming down his face.

“Then why didn’t you stop Keira from taking my sister? Do you know she injected her with Wolf’s bane? Rose lost her Wolf—she can’t contact us! She’s being tortured by your sister right now!” Crater roared, making some people flinch.

He walked up to Josh and punched him in the stomach so hard that Josh vomited blood. Aeon strength. Josh was thrown backward, and the Pack could feel Crater’s sheer authority and power.

This kid had the makings of an Alpha.

Josh got back up, wiping the blood from his mouth. But then my attention shifted when I heard my mate roar.

She had shifted into her silver wolf—probably after hearing her sister was being tortured. Dawn, her Wolf, must have taken over. Hearing her sibling in pain sent her into a frenzy.

She tackled Josh in an instant, forcing everyone else to back away.

Shit! I needed to stop her—if Josh died now, we’d lose valuable information.

She snarled, baring her teeth at my ex-Beta. I could smell Josh’s fear. But I couldn’t allow her to kill him yet.

She raised her claws, ready to slash his throat.

“No!” I rushed to Dawn and wrapped my arms around her, stroking the fur behind her ears to calm her. “Please, love… stay calm. We still need him—not yet.” I whispered in her ear until I heard her purr.

It worked. She turned her snout toward me, sniffed my neck, and calmed down. Then she ran into the Pack House, her seven tails swaying—I knew she was shifting back to her human form.

I turned back to Josh and called Lester and the other Pack warriors. “Tie this traitor in the cells. Torture him. Get every bit of information—don’t ignore anything.”

They nodded and immediately carried the unconscious Josh away.

“This is the start of our fight, Kuya Dwight—they dug their own grave,” Crater said darkly behind me, fists clenched tight.

Of course… that’s what they wanted. They didn’t know how to fight fair. I clenched my fists too.

I still felt a little sympathy for Josh. We’d been friends for years.

But our enemies… they had no mercy. Even the innocent—they’d kill without hesitation. Rose was a sister to me too, and we’d do anything to save her.

“If that’s what they want, then so be it. No Lycan or rogue who stands against us will be left alive.”
