Chapter 62: Burning my mom

"Are you ready," Dr. Charles pushes open my bedroom door inquiring me.

I nodded and slowly moves away from my bedroom window exiting my room.

My body was in a lot of pain but still, I had managed to get out of bed today and change into a black dress to lastly see my mom's beautiful body for the last before she's turned into ashes. It was a hard thing to do. I could have stayed home and allowed Dr. Charles to handle it alone for I know that today I won't be able to take it easy, but I couldn't just let him go alone. He knew my mom before me and while she was here, they had a great connection and fell in love. He needs me there as well.

Dr. Charles helps me downstairs holding my other good arms while the broken one clings to my side in pain. My face grimaces in pain at every step I've taken. Dr. Charles had given me some painkillers but it wasn't helping. Dr. Charles's hand moves from my one good hand to my waist helping me the best he could.

"We're almost there," he told me.

Soon we were at a strange grey building. It was the place where all the corpses were kept for funerals or burials. I paused staring at the building. Dr. Charles stops as well.

"Come let's go in now," he told me.

We soon again begin to walk.

"Ha....," I cry out feeling a sharp pain within my hand.

Dr. Charles stops right away and check on my arm. I inform him that I no longer felt the pain anymore and soon we were on our way closer to the building. A guard let us in. My body begin to shiver as I enter the building, knowing that I was going to see my mom. My mom's body lying lifeless.

The inside of the building was painted in full white and had many doors along the way. The path Dr. Charles and I was heading through accompanied by another guard seems endless. Soon we stop at one of the white doors. The door was larger than all the doors I saw.

"Are you ready to see her?" the guard inquire us as he held the doorknob, waiting for our response.

Dr. Charles looks at me before answering. I nodded. His head turns back to the man and too answers. The guard opens the door and my heart started to race within my chest.

"Come," he informs us both. My one good hand held Dr. Charles's right hand tightly and my body went very close to his.

Dr. Charles held back my hand and soon we were entering the large room. My eyes widen and search the room for my mom's body. I didn't see her. She wasn't there. My eyes soon stop at a large iron area and inside it was a blazing fire. I stare at it shockingly knowing it was where they are going to burn my mom.

"Please wait here while I go and get her body," the guard told me as he went to a door inside the room, we were in. I hug the doctor crying as he did. Dr. Charles's hand went around my back as he did.

I held Dr. Charles tightly as I heard wheels squeaking as it rolls coming from the room the guard went into. The door opens and there I saw the guard with another guard pushing my mom's cover in a white sheet from head to toe on a flat metal object with four wheels.

I cry as I move away from the doctor to see my mom. The guard stops my mom before us and slowly remove the cover from her head stopping it at her neck. I cry hard seeing my mom lying there lifeless with all bruises on her face. I cry so hard that my voice echoes within the room and my entire body begins to feel pain. I couldn't bear seeing her like this anymore. Dr. Charles hugs me and too begins to cry.

Soon the man begins to carry my mom to the hot fire. I shit myself up instantly as they threw my mom's body into the large fire. Her naked body was covered in bruises, road marks, and from the evil alpha and now it was being consumed by the raging fire.

"Mom," I cry. I couldn't take it anymore. I run from the place.

"Nala," Dr. Charles chases me. I didn't stop.
