Chapter 10

A few seconds passed before the crowd erupted in applause for my victory in the match. In that moment, Alpha Damien approached me to offer his congratulations.

"Brilliant! I knew I made the right choice in selecting you as my mate," he exclaimed, a smile gracing his lips.

"I am capable of protecting myself, Alpha," I responded confidently.

We exchanged smiles, and gradually, I felt my emotions soften. There was an undeniable connection in his bright eyes that touched me deeply.

It was a feeling I shouldn't have allowed myself to experience. I realized then that it wasn't just my physical well-being I needed to safeguard, but also my heart.

Swiftly, I averted his intense gaze. My eyes met Norman', and I hadn't realized he had been observing me for some time. I returned his smile, causing Alpha Damiento take notice of our interaction. Hastily, I turned away from him.

Exhausted from the fight, I bid farewell to the rest of the group. Alpha Damien kindly offered to accompany me to my room, and I accepted. Together, we walked down the corridor.

After a few minutes, we arrived at my room's entrance. I bid him goodbye, but I couldn't ignore the way he looked at me, as if he had something to say. Curiosity got the better of me, and I couldn't help but burst into laughter at his response.

"Why are you envious of Norman?" I inquired with a grin.

"I see the way you two interact. Do you have feelings for him?" he asked bluntly.

"Do you think I would be interested in him?" I questioned with a smile, raising my eyebrows.

"Perhaps," he replied succinctly.

Summoning my courage, I leaned in closer to him. However, I was momentarily taken aback when I noticed his lips up close. They were red like a woman's, yet still masculine. Oh, what are you thinking, Crema?

"I don't easily develop feelings for someone," I stated with a smile, gazing into his eyes.

I held my breath, locking eyes with him. I had to admit, his face was captivating. After a moment, I turned and walked away.

"Goodnight, Alpha," I said, smiling.

"Goodnight, my future Luna," he responded with a smile.

Suddenly, butterflies fluttered in my stomach. I shut the door quickly, taking deep breaths to calm my strange emotions. His words were so sweet, a stark contrast to his usual demeanor.

I stood with my arms crossed, gazing out the window. From there, I could see the wolves patrolling the Castle. I knew I had to stay here to seek justice for my parents' deaths.

The next morning, a knock on the door woke me up. I hurried to answer it, finding Alice standing there with a tray of food. She greeted me warmly, and I returned the gesture.

"Please come in, Alice," I greeted with a smile.

"Thank you," I added.

She nodded politely, giving me a moment before bidding farewell. After closing the door, I settled myself in front of the small table and indulged in a hearty meal, satisfying my hunger at that very moment.

A few minutes later, I entered the bathroom to take a shower. Just as I was about to leave, there was a knock on the door once again. With only a towel wrapped around my body, I approached the door.

Upon opening it, I was met with Alpha Damien's smiling face. Clearly taken aback, he quickly averted his gaze upon realizing my state of undress.

"Uhmm, please get dressed first. I'll wait outside," he said.

"Why aren't you looking at me?" I asked, trying to be seductive.

"Get dressed first," he responded firmly.

"Look at me first," I whispered seductively, attempting to execute my plan to seduce him. I intentionally lowered my towel, causing his eyes to widen before he quickly looked away.

"Apologies, Alpha," I said with a playful smile.

"Please get dressed, Amelia," he replied calmly.

"Alright, go ahead and come in. Wait inside," I replied, returning his smile.

I just want to understand why you're not attracted to my body, Alpha. Is there something wrong with me? You don't like what you see?" I inquired.

"Like I mentioned, I have a lot of respect for you, Amelia," he responded seriously.

I feel that strange feeling again. It's like there are butterflies fluttering inside my stomach. So I decided to change the topic of our conversation.

"I..Is this dress okay for me?" I asked, showing him the dress I was wearing.

"Very beautiful, Amelia," he replied with a smile, looking at me from head to toe.

It's not a lingering gaze, but an innocent look of a man. Who would have thought that this man was concealing something devilish?

After I got dressed, he invited me out and we strolled down the corridor to the library. He mentioned he wanted to show me something, and I couldn't help but be curious about what it was. Is it a book or something else?

Upon reaching the library, we walked to the end. I was taken aback when a wall suddenly opened. I glanced at him, and he simply smiled at me.

As we entered the hidden room, I was astonished to see so much gold and pictures adorning the walls. There was a portrait of a muscular man who bore a striking resemblance to him and a beautiful woman. He introduced them as his Father and Mother.

"Alpha Noen is my father, Luna Aliah is my mother," he introduced.

"You and your father look alike. You have his smile and the tip of his nose. But you inherited your eyes from your mother," I remarked with a smile.

He smiled at my observation and picked up a pearl necklace hanging on the wall.

"Since I was young, I witnessed how deeply they loved each other. Father did everything to protect my mother and his pack. Unfortunately, he lost his life," he shared.

"This necklace is a symbol and memory of their love," he added.

I'm unsure of how I will react when I hear his story. The sadness in his eyes is evident as he shares it. I'm torn between feeling sorry for his sorrowful tale or being happy that he understands the pain of losing a parent.

"That's why I aspire to be like my Father. I want to love and protect you until my last breath," he said, smiling while gazing at me.

His intense stare made me feel like I was melting, so I quickly looked away. My eyes landed on the abundance of gold surrounding us.

"So much gold," I exclaimed, amazed.

"That's normal, Amelia. Those gold pieces are merely decorations," he replied, still smiling.

"Decorations?!" I exclaimed, unable to believe it.

"Why does that surprise you?" he asked, curious.

"Um, nothing," I lied.

I never imagined that gold was considered ordinary to them, merely used for decoration. In the human world, it is a precious treasure that is not easily attainable. If I were to bring it to the human world, I would become an instant billionaire.

I must be the wealthiest woman in the world, as every corner of this room is filled with gold bars. Well, most of the castle's color scheme is gold. But these gold bars are truly astonishing.

"Are you alright, Amelia?" he asked gently.

I hadn't realized I had been lost in my thoughts. I smiled sweetly at him, and he returned the smile.

While walking, my eyes caught sight of a letter stuck in the wall. I approached and touched it, but I couldn't understand its meaning as it was written in Greek.

"I don't understand any of this," I complained.

"Alpha and Luna were united until their last breath," he said, smiling.

I swallowed nervously at his words. We locked eyes, and he reached out to hold my hand. I can't explain the sensations I felt in that moment. It was as if electricity surged through my body while he held my hand. But I knew I shouldn't feel that way, so I quickly let go. He was clearly taken aback by my actions.
