Chapter 9

He planted a gentle kiss on my hand, and suddenly a surge of electricity shot through my body.

Butterflies began to flutter in my stomach for reasons unknown. Quickly, I pulled my hand away from his grasp, not wanting to entertain this strange sensation.

"Can you leave me here? I want to rest, Alpha," I requested.

"Are you sure?" he inquired, his tone reassuring.

"Yes," I confirmed.

"Alright, just give me a call or ask the maids if you need anything," he said with a warm smile.

"Okay," I replied.

As he exited the room, I found myself staring up at the ceiling, unable to shake off the lingering effects of his touch. Why did he have such a profound impact on me just by holding my hand?

As I attempted to divert my focus, I gradually rose to my feet. Inhaling deeply, I gazed out the window. In the distance, I caught sight of the wolves engaged in their training. How much longer can I remain in this place?

Out of nowhere, a knock echoed through my room, jolting me from my thoughts. Curiosity piqued, I made my way towards the door, eager to uncover the source of the interruption.

As I swung open the door, a familiar face greeted me. It was Norman, holding a tray of delicious food. A warm smile adorned his face as he stepped inside, carefully placing the food on the table.

"How are you feeling, Amelia?" he asked, his voice filled with genuine concern.

"I'm feeling great, thank you for bringing the food," I replied, returning his smile.

"No need to thank me. Alpha informed me," he said, his smile widening.

"Alright then, I'll leave you to it," he said, preparing to depart.

Suddenly, my stomach growled, reminding me of my own hunger. Without wasting a moment, I eagerly dug into the meal. The delectable food disappeared in a matter of seconds, satisfying my ravenous appetite.

I finished my meal, then proceeded to switch into fresh attire while gazing at my reflection in the mirror. It's evident that Alpha Damien's protective nature towards me is strong, making it easy for me to align with his desires. However, a lingering feeling from earlier still troubles me.

In an attempt to shake off the unsettling sensation, I took a deep breath and shifted my focus elsewhere.

Lost in contemplation, I unknowingly drifted off to sleep.

The following morning, I rose early and made the decision to venture beyond the confines of my room. After getting dressed and freshening up, I took a moment to gaze at my reflection in the mirror before stepping out into the corridor. The palace was still enveloped in a serene silence as I strolled alone. It was then that I encountered Alice, one of the maids, accompanied by two other women on their way to the kitchen. I distinctly recall one of the women, who warmly greeted me with a smile. Returning the gesture, I exchanged pleasantries with them.

"Good morning," Alice greeted cheerfully.

"Good morning, Luna," the other women chimed in simultaneously.

"Please, just call me Amelia. I am not your Luna," I responded earnestly.

"But that is what you will become. You are the fortunate one chosen by Alpha Damien," the woman replied, her smile unwavering.

"You are correct, but for now, I would prefer to be called Amelia," I replied, returning the smile.

The woman complimented Amelia's beauty, making her smile. She bid farewell and glanced back before leaving through the large door. Walking towards the grand Gate, Her eyes widened at what she saw.

In the depths of the forest, I found myself surrounded by a group of rogues. Their intentions were clear as they advanced towards me, ready to strike. But just as they thought they had the upper hand, Alpha Damien emerged from the shadows, his presence commanding and powerful. With a swift motion, he seized their necks, his grip unyielding.

The fury in his eyes was unmistakable, a blazing fire that consumed his gaze. The rogues, trapped and helpless, struggled to breathe under his firm grasp. It was a sight that sent shivers down my spine, witnessing the raw power and protectiveness of my mate.

"No one dares to harm my mate!" he growled, his voice dripping with anger.

In a sudden release, Alpha Damien let go of the rogue women's necks, causing them to crumble to the forest floor. Gasping for air, they clutched their throats, their eyes filled with malice as they glared at him.

Their sinister gaze did not go unnoticed by Alpha Damien. His anger intensified, his eyes gleaming with a dangerous spark.

"Why do you stare at me like that? Are you truly eager to meet your demise at my hands?" he seethed, his words laced with a chilling threat.

"The lady is clearly trying to trick you! She's only trying to deceive you!"

The woman's voice echoed through the room, filled with accusation and deceit. In a fit of anger, he struck her with force, causing my heart to skip a beat.

As our gazes locked, I couldn't help but feel a surge of unease, fueled by the woman's words.

Leaning in, I whispered in a seductive tone, "Do you truly trust her words, Alpha?"

Without hesitation, he replied, "No."

My heart raced as he questioned the credibility of the woman's slander against him. I desperately hoped he wouldn't believe her, knowing that trusting an enemy would be foolish.

As he approached me and gently held my hand, I fought to suppress my trembling, not wanting him to sense my fear. The rogues before us seemed to possess some hidden knowledge, and I couldn't help but wonder why the woman accused me of deceiving Alpha Damien. What did she know?

Suddenly, the woman burst into laughter, pointing an accusing finger at Alpha Damien. Unable to contain my anger any longer, I impulsively strode towards her and delivered a resounding slap.

Alpha Damien appeared taken aback by my actions, but I knew deep down he understood the source of my fury.

Drawing closer to me, he whispered, his breath brushing against my skin, "Do you wish to exact revenge yourself?"

At that moment, he handed me a sword, offering me the means to confront our adversaries.

Overwhelmed by his trust in me, my entire body quivered with a mix of anticipation and trepidation.

The memory of my parents' murder suddenly flooded my mind, igniting a fiery rage within me as I locked eyes with the demon before me. Gripping the sword tightly, I could feel the weight of my emotions pushing me towards a dangerous edge. Despite the overwhelming desire for revenge, I knew that justice must prevail, even in the face of such evil.

"I don't seek vengeance, Alpha," I declared firmly.

"What is it that you seek then?" he inquired.

I responded with a serious tone, returning the sword to him.

"What do you mean?" he asked, puzzled.

"Release them one by one for a fair fight, Alpha," I commanded.

The wolves were taken aback by my request, creating space around us. Alpha Damien hesitated, but I insisted. I wanted to test my strength among them, even as an omega.

"Are you sure? I don't want you to get hurt," he expressed concern.

"Do you doubt my fighting skills, Alpha?" I retorted sarcastically.

"I will not be defeated. I will not be defeated!" I declared firmly.

He reluctantly agreed, and the area cleared for the fight. A rogue woman was released, smiling proudly at me. I braced myself for her attack.

Dodging her first strike, I retaliated and injured her. She writhed in pain, giving me the chance to continue my assault.

As the wolves retreated, I smirked and inflicted more damage. Grabbing her neck, I lifted her up, victorious.

I bellowed, declaring to all present, "Every single one of you will bear witness to the demise of this woman!" With determination, I proceeded to extinguish her life.

The wolves, observing our clash, erupted into applause. Alpha Damien, rising from his seat, caught my eye. Raising my fists triumphantly, I staked my claim to victory. However, my battle was far from over.

They unleashed the second rogue, who swiftly lunged at me. Her strike landed, leaving a painful scratch on my cheek. Glancing at Alpha Damien, I detected a flicker of concern etched upon his face.

Repeating my mantra of invincibility, I reminded myself that this woman must pay for the harm she inflicted upon me in the Alpha's eyes. I allowed her to assail me, carefully studying her every move.

Skillfully dodging her punches and scratches, I patiently awaited the opportune moment to strike back. As fate would have it, I finally seized the opportunity to give her a playful nibble on her behind. To my surprise, a shriek escaped his lips when I playfully returned the favor.

In a swift motion, I firmly grasped her hair from behind, yanking her back, and swiftly dashed towards the wall, delivering a powerful impact.
