Chapter 18: An Unexpected Visitor and A Mate’s Betrayal

We woke up several times during the night and made love. It was the most amazing night of my life. I wake up and I am so sore. I look to Colton's side of the bed. It is empty and the sheets are cold, so he must have been gone for awhile. I wonder where he can be this early? I try to mindlink him, but he is blocking me. I get up out of bed and take a quick shower then dress for the day.

I walk to Colton's office and hear raised voices. I put my ear against the door and hear Colton and then I hear a woman’s voice. I can't place where I know that voice from. I keep listening.

The woman says, "Colton, I am pregnant and you are the father. Remember prom night back at Supernatural High? You were in the lobby of my dorm and said that you wanted to talk, so we went down by the lake. We talked and then started making out and then we had sex. Apparently your little girlfriend must not have been able to satisfy you that night. Then it became a common thing to meet by the lake to have sex. The last time we had sex was the night of graduation and right before you met your mate."

I then hear Noah's voice say, "Are you kidding me bro, you cheated on my sister with this whore? I can't believe that you would do that."

Colton says, “There is no way that it is my child. Yes, we did have sex many times, but I used a condom every time."

She says, “Well, you are the only one that I have been with, so it is yours. Plus, don't you remember the condom breaking?"

He says, "No, I don't. What about your mate? Maybe he is the father."

She says, "I have not met my mate yet. He wasn’t at Supernatural High. I was going to start looking for him, but then I discovered that I was pregnant with your child. So, I came right here to tell you. I want you to reject Everly and make me your Luna. After all, I am having your heir."

Noah says, "There is no way that he will make you his Luna when my sister is already his Luna and they have mated and marked each other. Right Colton?"

Colton remains quiet. I have tears streaming down my face and I have heard enough. I open the door and barge right in. I look at the woman and it is Victoria, as in his ex. Colton stands up when he sees me and pales.

I say, "Yeah Colton how about you answer Noah's question. We are all dying to know the answer."

Colton says, "Everly, what are you doing here?"

"Well, I woke up and you were not in bed, so I came looking for you. I have heard everything. Is it true? How could you do this to me? Was I not good enough for you to stay and make love to me on Prom night? You had to seek comfort with this whore. You cheated on me many times. Do you even feel guilty?"

He comes closer to me and tries to take me into his arms. I instantly push him away and Noah comes and puts his arms around me. I let out a loud sob.

"Colton, I want an answer to all of my questions now," I scream.

He flinches and his hands are fisted. He lets out a growl. I look at him and then I look at Victoria. She has an enormous smirk on her face. I cannot believe that he got her pregnant.

I ask, "Colton, is it true? Answer me now."

Colton gulps and looks down. He then raises his eyes and looks into my eyes and says, "Everly, I am so sorry. I never meant to hurt you. Yes, everything is true. Please can you forgive me and then we can move on?"

I scream, "You want me to forgive you. I don't think that I can forgive you."

Victoria says, "Everly, we were together for 2 months at Supernatural High and we had sex many times. The first time was prom night and it was my first time and I have only ever had sex with Colton. The last time was the night before he found out that you were his mate. Just let me have him. I am going to be the mother of his first-born and heir."

I just keep sobbing.

All of a sudden the door slams against the wall and my parents and Alpha Micheal and Luna Ivy are standing there.

My mom says, "What is going on here? We could hear screaming from outside."

I say, "Well Colton, how about you tell our parents about your little issue?"

Victoria says, "Don't worry babe, I will tell them the whole story."

She then proceeds to tell them everything. Colton just hangs his head down.

My dad steps up and says, "Colton, is this true?"

He just nods his head and looks at me. I can see everyone in the room looking very mad except for Victoria of course.

I take a deep breath and then look at both of them and say, “Well, I am going to go and pack, I will move in with my parents for right now. You two should be together to raise your child. Colton go ahead and reject me, so that she can be your Luna. I hope you are happy, you have ruined our lives."

He starts begging me to stay and I just walk out of his office. I can hear raised voices and they are very angry. I go to our room and start packing all of my stuff. I hear the door open behind me and I turn and see Colton coming into the room. He just stops and stares at me.

He says, Everly, you are my mate and Luna, you cannot leave me. I will raise the baby and Victoria can stay here and help raise the baby too."

I just look at him. Then, I scream, "How could you do this Colton? Do you think that I will stay here with you and her and watch you raise your child together like some kind of happy little family, while I am looking in from the outside?"

He just looks at me. I say, "No, I will never do that. You two deserve each other. Please just reject me so that I can get on with my life?"

"Everly, I cannot reject you, I love you too much. We can get through this together. I am so sorry."

I say, "Fine, you don't want to reject me then I will reject you. I, Everly Stevenson, Luna of the Blood Moon Pack reject......"

Colton puts his hand over my mouth.

He says, "Please do not reject me. I will give you some time to think about everything. Then if you can't forgive me, you can reject me. Ok?"

I say, "Fine I will take the time to think about things. I am going to go and see Bethany at her vampire coven and spend some time with her."

He says, "Ok."

I say, "I will be back in a week with my answer. Ok?"

He comes closer to me and wraps his arms around me and says, "I will see you in a week. Please remember that I love you and that I am going to miss you so much."

He then kisses me passionately and I kiss him back. We finally break the kiss.

I say, "Colton, I love you too, but you have really hurt me. See you in a week."

He whispers, "I am so sorry Everly."

I then pick my suitcase up and walk out of the room. I walk down the stairs and out the door and to my parents house. My mom answers the door.

I say, "Mom, can I borrow your car for a week? I am going to go and visit Bethany. I need time to get away and think."

My mom says, "Of course Sweetie. Please be careful. I love you so much and things will get better. Tell Bethany that we said hello."

I nod my head and get into her car and roll the window down.

"Mom, can you also do me a favor and keep an eye on Victoria? I don't know what is going on, but I think she is lying about being pregnant. She hasn't provided a scan or a positive pregnancy stick. I think that something is going on."

"Sweetie, of course I will watch her and I will get Luna Ivy and Sam to help me too. See you in a week."

I just wave and back out of the driveway. I leave our pack boundaries and head for Bethany's vampire coven.
