Chapter 594: Let’s See How They Kill Me
After giving the patient instructions, James headed to the bar with Daniel and the others.
Around nine o'clock, the group arrived at the Base Bar, settling into a booth to drink and chat. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.
Halfway through their drinks, James got up to use the restroom.
Walking down the hallway, he saw several men supporting a woman as they moved forward.
"Hurry up, take her to the private room for the boss. Mr. Foster is waiting."
"She's a real catch, no wonder he picked her out right away."
The Lumarian man had a sleazy look on his face, his eyes full of desire:
"This trip was worth it."
The woman stumbled along, seeming drunk and unconscious. With the dim lighting, James couldn't make out her face clearly.
He hesitated, unsure whether the woman was being forced or going willingly.
But as they passed by, he sensed the woman struggling, her movements resistant, though too weak to break free from the men's grip.
James frowned slightly, his pupils suddenly focusing.
The woman tripped over a flowerpot, her head tilting back, her profile exposed in the light.
His heart clenched.
Wendy.
James never expected to run into Wendy here, much less to see her drunk and targeted by these men.
Without thinking, he turned and grabbed the Lumarian man's arm:
"Wait a minute."
The six men stopped instinctively, all looking at James.
"Idiot."
The Lumarian man glared at James: "I'll count to three. If you don't let go, I'll cut off your hand."
James spoke directly: "This woman is my friend. You can't take her."
Looking closer, he realized Wendy wasn't just drunk—she'd been drugged.
"Bullshit."
The Lumarian man's eyes turned cold:
"This is the woman Mr. Foster wants. Whether she's your friend or a stranger, she's keeping Mr. Foster company tonight."
"Get lost if you know what's good for you, or I'll kill you."
As he finished speaking, they stood up, glaring at James menacingly.
The scarred man also sneered, his tone ice-cold:
"Kid, mind your own business. You're in over your head here. Cross the wrong people and you'll die miserably."
"Apologize to Mr. Yves Lewis right now, or you won't leave this bar tonight."
The two were clearly in cahoots.
"Don't you have any sense of decency?"
James looked at the scarred man, his voice dropping: "They're doing this to an innocent woman, and not only do you not stop them, you're helping them?"
"Doing what, you idiot."
Yves sneered:
"Serving us is their great honor. Compared to losers like you, we're a hundred times better."
"I just sit at the bar and women flock to me like moths to a flame."
"Don't like it? Well, that's how the world works—only the strong deserve beautiful women."
He looked at James provocatively: "Weaklings don't just lack the right to enjoy them—they don't even have the right to protect them."
James's eyes turned cold: "Let her go."
"Kid, don't you understand?"
The scarred man's eyes flashed with killing intent: "Get on your knees and apologize to Yves. Do it now, or I'm going to get angry."
Yves breathed out alcohol fumes: "See that? To deal with you, I don't even need to lift a finger. Your own people can crush you."
James clenched his fists: "So you're dead set on not letting her go."
"Mr. Foster isn't done having his fun yet. Let go of what?"
Yves sneered:
"Let me tell you, even if this woman is your mom, your sister, or your girlfriend, she's serving Mr. Foster tonight before she leaves."
"No matter how angry or upset you are, swallow it. Otherwise, I'll take you down too."
Yves was extremely arrogant, not taking James seriously at all—some nobody daring to challenge him must have a death wish.
James walked forward slowly: "You think you'll get the chance to touch her?"
Yves raised his hand and slapped Wendy's flushed face, instantly leaving five finger marks:
"I'm touching her right in front of you. What are you going to do about it?"
James didn't waste words. He charged forward.
Yves sneered and stepped back: "Take him down. I'll take the woman to Mr. Foster first."
He personally dragged Wendy forward.
James accelerated.
The scarred man gave the order: "Get him!"
Several men in windbreakers rushed forward, pulling out knives and stabbing at James.
James showed no mercy. He dodged the knives and swept his leg, breaking all four men's shins.
The men screamed and fell, the piercing sounds drawing a crowd.
The scarred man's expression changed. He drew his knife and charged.
As soon as he got close, James grabbed him by the throat.
The scarred man was startled at first, but still held his head high:
"Kid, you dare touch me? See how The Gonzalez Family kills you."
James said nothing, grabbing his neck and slamming him hard against the wall.
Blood spurted out. The scarred man screamed, his head split open as he slid down—not dead, not unconscious, but out of the fight.
"Kid, you've got some skills."
Yves dropped Wendy, raised both hands, and threw a large handful of powder at James, then flicked his sleeves to shoot out dozens of silver needles, fast and vicious.
James didn't dodge, letting the powder and needles hit him.
"You know a few amateur moves and think you're invincible? Childish."
Seeing James standing still, Yves looked smug: "In this world, there's always someone better than you."
"Going against me, Yves? You don't have enough lives."
"I won't kill you yet. I'll keep you as an audience, let you watch Mr. Foster have his way with your woman."
"That'll make it more exciting..."
Before he finished, he turned to grab Wendy lying on the ground.
James shifted his foot, raised his left leg, and slammed it hard into Yves's back.
Yves couldn't dodge. His bent back took the full impact.
Bones cracked. He fell to the ground, his chin hitting the floor, blood gushing, teeth falling out.
"How... are you fine?"
Yves struggled to speak: "You were hit by my poison, my needles..."
Before he could finish, James stepped on him. Yves spat more blood and passed out cold.
"Who are they?"
James didn't look at Yves. He picked up Wendy while stepping on the scarred man's ribs:
"You get one chance."
The scarred man's eyelids twitched, but he still stared at James defiantly:
"They're our boss's VIP guests."
He forced out: "You're finished. Our boss says they have Blood Medical Sect connections."
"I'm finished?"
James kicked the scarred man aside: "Tell your boss I'm in room 103."
"I'm taking them on today. Let's see how they kill me."
He dragged the unconscious Yves along with him.
