Chapter 593: Mary White Ointment
For someone like Rainy, James didn't want to waste his energy—getting tangled up with that type of person, you wouldn't even know how you died.
He ignored Rainy and politely declined Wayne and the others' dinner invitation.
Being with the people from JZL Medical Clinic was where he felt most comfortable.
After leaving his contact information and returning from the Traditional Medicine Building, James informed Abigail Smith and the others that he had passed smoothly today.
Calla and the rest were all very happy, clamoring to celebrate for James.
James didn't refuse and had Edith book a booth at a bar, planning to take everyone to relax later.
Edith rushed off to make the phone call.
At that moment, James received an email from Olivia. After scanning through it, he dove into the pharmacy room and spent over an hour preparing a bottle of medicine.
Some things he always had to do—just like some people he would eventually settle accounts with.
When James came out, Edith and the others had already prepared dinner. Seeing the medicine bottle in James's hand, everyone looked curious.
"What's that?"
Daniel's eyes lit up: "Upgraded Bashful Flower? Grandma's black tea?"
As soon as he spoke, Calla and the others all stared over with bright eyes, their gazes filled with undisguised admiration.
They had all tried these three products, the top-tier versions at that, and knew well that anything James prepared was absolutely first-class treasure.
James didn't answer, only asking: "Are you afraid of pain?"
Daniel opened his mouth, then straightened his neck: "No."
"Good."
James showed a smile, casually picked up a small knife, and nodded slightly at Daniel:
"Hold out your hand."
Daniel froze, his expression hesitant, but eventually slowly extended his hand.
"Help! Doctor!"
Just then, the door of JZL Medical Clinic was urgently pounded, accompanied by a woman's panicked scream:
"Doctor, save my child, save my child!"
Although JZL Medical Clinic stopped seeing patients after 5:30, they would still help with emergencies, and this woman was calling out so frantically that it clearly wasn't a minor ailment.
Daniel and Edith immediately rushed over and pulled the door open.
James also followed out with Calla and the others.
As soon as the door opened, a woman rushed in holding a four or five-year-old child, followed by several men and women.
They were all stained with blood.
"Doctor, doctor, please save my son."
The young woman fell to her knees in the hall with the child: "He was cut by a knife, bleeding so much, we can't stop it."
Edith and the others quickly took the child and placed him on a reclining chair.
James looked intently and saw a deep red wound from the child's neck to abdomen, long and deep, with blood continuously gushing out, impossible to stop.
The child was semi-conscious, making no crying sounds.
Daniel cleaned the wound while saying in a deep voice: "How were you watching the child? How did it get this bad?"
"He was watching TV, took a fruit knife to imitate Lumaria people doing ritual suicide, accidentally slipped and it became like this."
The young woman sobbed:
"Doctor, please save him, the blood won't stop, we used two bottles of Morris's White Medicine, it had no effect at all."
"What nonsense."
Daniel cut open the child's clothes while scolding:
"You should have watched him better. This wound is too deep, and he's lost too much blood. We can only do preliminary treatment, you'll still need to take him to a big hospital."
The child was extremely weak. Besides stopping the bleeding, he needed a large blood transfusion. Daniel suggested they send him to the hospital as soon as possible.
The young woman wiped her tears: "We wanted to send him to the hospital, but seeing the blood flowing like this, we were afraid he wouldn't make it there."
"Let's stop the bleeding first."
Daniel picked up acupuncture needles, but the moment he cut open the clothes and saw the wound, his movements froze.
There were too many bleeding points, too dense. Stopping the bleeding would take at least ten minutes—but the child might not have ten minutes of blood left to lose.
Calla, Edith and the others also felt their scalps tingle.
James, who had been watching the child's condition, stepped forward: "Let me handle this."
"I'm sorry, I'm not capable enough."
Daniel looked apologetic and quickly handed over the needles.
"The child's injury is too severe, needles alone won't be very effective."
James didn't take the needles, only picked up the small medicine bottle: "Let's try the trauma medicine I just prepared."
"Doctor, trauma medicine won't work. We already used two bottles of Morris's White Medicine. The wound is too deep, it just won't stop."
"Right, we just poured it on, and it washed away in seconds."
"Better use acupuncture to stop the bleeding, just hold it a bit, then we'll take him to the hospital."
Several family members shook their heads to stop him, not wanting James to waste effort.
The young woman looked desperate: "Doctor, is there really nothing you can do either?"
Daniel, Calla and the others also looked hesitant—with such a severe injury, could one bottle of medicine really work?
"Don't worry, the child will be fine."
James reassured them and opened the bottle cap. A fresh fragrance instantly spread, making everyone present feel refreshed.
Everyone looked at the medicine bottle in unison, thinking to themselves that this medicine was remarkably invigorating.
Then they witnessed an even more amazing scene.
As James slowly poured down the white powder from the bottle, the long wound rapidly solidified, and the gushing blood gradually stopped.
The wound then turned into a dark red raised mark, like a centipede lying on the wound, shocking to see, but no more blood flowing out. The child's breathing also became steady.
"This powder stops bleeding in three seconds, stops pain in ten seconds, and forms a scab in one minute."
James put away the remaining half bottle of powder: "Within twenty-four hours, the wound can completely heal."
The family members were stunned.
Daniel and Edith were stunned.
Calla and the eight senior physicians were all stunned.
Could this powder really be this miraculous?
They didn't believe it, but the reality before their eyes was too shocking—the blood had really stopped.
Before everyone could process this, James glanced at the clock on the wall:
"One minute is up."
He had Abigail Smith fetch a towel and gently wiped away the clotted powder on the wound.
As the powder fell away, it revealed a dark red scab. The scar looked fragile, as if it would break at a touch, but had actually healed.
Looking at that scab, everyone was once again dumbfounded.
It really formed a scab...
Edith instinctively looked at the clock—from when the powder was poured until now, it really had only been one minute.
Calla and the others felt waves of shock in their hearts. Once this medicine came out, all of Stardust City would be in turmoil again...
Daniel couldn't help but ask: "James, what medicine is this?"
"A trauma medicine I just developed."
James thought for a moment, then his gaze became firm:
"It's called... Mary White Ointment."
