Chapter 3

My hooded eyes scanned the photos, as my stomach churned with the level of disturbing imagery which the snaps had. This is sick. Completely sick. The first photo, has Tracy lying on her bed, with several stab marks on her chest. She was in her sea-green nightgown. The one that was my favourite. I can’t believe that I will never see her wearing it again.
The killer had scribbled something on the wall, with Tracy's blood. The blood looked quite dry when the snap was taken, so I'm assuming that the photos were taken after 2-3 hours of her actual death. The sheriff passes me a magnifying lens, as I take it to decipher the writing on the wall. The killer has a scribbly handwriting, which is messy. Plus, he wrote that with the knife he stabbed Tracy with, or so I think. After a great deal of scanning, I come to the conclusion that “Only you know me the way you know me. Only you forgive me when I'm sorry. Even when I mess it up, there you are.” The lyrics sound oddly familiar.
“It’s the song ‘There You Are’ by Zayn.” I finally spurt out, and the sheriff nods.
“Do the lyrics strike anything to you? Like, remember some incident or anything like that?” She takes back the photos and puts them in the file.
“No.” I confess truthfully. It is some sick bastard, who's out there killing people, then writing song lyrics laden with blood on their walls.
“Thanks for your co-operation, Mr. Williams. We'll call you if we need further help.” She smiles at me, as I get up from my chair.
“Please do. I'd be happy to help.” I take her hand, as I shake it and turn to leave.
Now that I'm outside the building, I take out a pack of Dunhill from my jeans pocket, as I trap the cigarette in between my lips. I then, rummage out my lighter, as I light it, and enter the car. I take a long drag of the cigarette, as I breathe out the smoke. What a day! My girlfriend gets killed, by God knows whom and then, my brother behaves sexually towards me. If these things continue, I'd become crazy very soon.
After the boring drive, I finally reach home as I park my car inside the big garage and lock the door. I hastily get inside the mansion, after I throw the useless stub of the cigarette in the trash bin. I don’t like smoking infront of my brothers. It would be a bad influence. Once I'm inside the living room, an inviting smell enters my nostrils, and I realise that I'm hungry. I reach the kitchen, to find out a giggling Matt cooking bacon and eggs.
“Hey Matty!” I cheer, ruffling his hair, as he smiles at me. The kid is a gem.
“Hey Lev! Take a seat. I'll serve you breakfast.” He gestures towards the bar stool near the kitchen island, as I sit on it. He places a white dish infront of me, as he outs some bacon and eggs on it. Yum, Yum, Yum.
I quickly dig in the food with my fork. “So, the big brother starts eating without waiting for the smaller ones?” Reign snorted, walking in the kitchen. His tone was far from innocent, rather it was accusatory. He was like that with me, always and I didn’t know why.
“Reign, just let Levy eat. Stow your rude ass, or you won’t be getting breakfast.” Matt glared at Reign who rolls his eyes, and sits on the barstool beside mine.
After I've finished my food, I realise that it was too early to get dressed up for school. It was 6:25 only. School starts at 9. I pick up my plate, as I wash it in the sink, and leave it on the kitchen island to dry. “Thanks for the breakfast, Matt. I love you.” I announce, kissing his forehead.
“Anytime, brother. I love you too.” He flashes me a smile, and I go upstairs to my room, as I gently close the door before flopping on the bed.
My body is immobile, at the moment. Lethargy is flowing through my blood streams. It has been a crazy morning. Levy had no idea, how crazy things would soon become.
