Chapter 12
[ T H I R D P E R S O N' S P. O. V ]
Desolation was like a slap to Levy's face. What people would describe as a ruthless playboy, he'd describe it as an attempt to find his home, with the ancient hit and trial method. None of his exes could soothe his damaged heart. Perhaps, he was too broken to mend, or so he thought. Now that an evident shadow of the past returned to haunt them all, he had to make his choice. His mind was churning with unanswered questions, as he lazily walked towards the parking lot, where he had parked his car. He was only eighteen; wasn’t it unfair that he was robbed of his childhood and forced to act and think like an adult? Ofcourse it was.
He successfully spotted the black Mercedes among the hoard of other cars, only to find Reign leaning against the agile beast. He had no choice, but to go home with Levy, no matter how much he tried to avoid his brother at this point of time. Levy stood there for a second or two, scanning his brother through his hooded eyes, which lied just below his beautiful carved, damp brow. He was tired, and couldn’t really handle another muck argument. Without wasting much time, he unlocked the door and got inside the car as he watched Reign slip in the seat near the driver’s. He started the car, once Reign had shut the door properly, and sped out of the school.
“Levy, I'm sorry.” Reign breathed out, as Levy perked up and gave him a sideway glance. No matter how wrong Reign is, he hardly apologises. Anyone who could tie the wild animal down, would be the Petruchio to his Katherine; if you know what I'm talking about.
“Mhmm.” Levy hummed, not sounding entirely convinced. He was fed up with these silly little tricks which his brother would pull off. What was this, if not a gimmick? Reign sighed, as he turned his head to look out of the window. Smooth roads, buzzing traffic, skyscraper buildings; Seattle really had it all.
Levy looked at his brother warily, as his eyes shot up a bit in surprise. How did he not notice that Reign was that attractive? He was wearing a grey full sleeved shirt, rolled up to his elbows, which showed off his strong hands and the material hugged his muscles tightly, making him look…ethereal. He also had some leather pants on, which clung to his shapely legs. He was quite the handsome man.
After the awkwardly silent ride, they finally pulled up infront of the porch of their massive mansion. After carefully leading the car to the garage, and making sure that the sleek guy (the car) made it there, was very important to Levy. He loved cars. Meanwhile, Reign went inside the house without another word or his iconic side way glances. He had changed. Reign always used to keep his distance from Levy, but things hadn’t been that bad as they were now.
Levy shook his head softly, when the thought came bolting to his head that Reign was only trying to do this, so that he could add his brother’s name to the cemetery where the names of his previous conquests were inscripted. He doesn’t love Levy, he never did; that’s what was bothering Levy the most. When had his brother learn to stoop that down? If he'd have truly loved Levy, then the eighteen year old would’ve fought with the world to make him his. Even if that meant fighting alone. He wasn’t scared, he was certain that Reign didn’t love him.
All he wanted was a distraction right now. But with a killer on loose and your brother being sexually attracted to you, are quite the things to worry about, aren't they? His tired eyes glanced at the clock hanging on the wall and all he wondered was when would Ashley be here.
