Chapter 93: Miss Me?

Cattleya’s POV

"What am I going to do with her?" Jaxon muttered to himself as he placed me in the back of his car. I feigned sleep, eager to eavesdrop on his thoughts.

It was already midnight when we landed in Morocco, and he had kept me hidden from everyone. I didn't know his reasons, but I enjoyed every moment.

He slid behind the wheel and began driving slowly. I knew he was deep in thought, grappling with the situation. And also, he was confused, unsure of what to do with me. He couldn't simply hand me over to someone else; a part of him still worried about my well-being.

Well, I'm every man's dream. I'm beautiful and so captivating that even strangers would do a double-take! I wanted to laugh at my thoughts.

Suddenly, the car screeched to a halt. I looked up to see we had arrived at a grand black gate, forged from metal, that only Jaxon could open with his fingerprint. He glanced at me, his brow furrowed. "You don't know what you've just gotten yourself into, woman," he warned.

"So, what are you going to do with me?"I asked innocently.

"You'll know later," he replied coldly.

We walked together into the villa, an eerie silence enveloping us. There was no one else around, just me and him. I assumed this was where he hosted meetings with clients and potential business partners, likely in preparation for tomorrow's event.

I gasped softly as the grand gate swung shut behind us. He stared at me, his eyes ice-cold. "Tell me who you work for, and I'll let you go," he demanded.

"But I don't want you to let me go," I said stubbornly. "I'm in danger, and I know you're the only one who can help me. So, protect me."

He scoffed in disbelief. "Miss, I am not your bodyguard."

I smiled at him, "Yes, you are," and then I walked through the grand door without looking back. I wanted to laugh. I had just made Jaxon, the notorious devil mafia lord, look like a clueless fool again. I turned around to face him, a mischievous glint in my eyes, "I'm hungry."

He raised an eyebrow and sighed, "Follow me."

He opened the door to the kitchen, opened the fridge, and grabbed a container of ready-to-eat fried spicy chicken. He popped it in the microwave, then placed it on a plate and set it on the table. "Eat while I ask you some questions," he instructed.

I nodded happily, savoring the moment. It felt like the first time we were alone together again. I bit into the fried chicken, chewing slowly and moaning, "Hmm, this is so delicious."

I was playing my part perfectly, doing everything I could to make him remember me. It had been three years! And I wouldn't stop until he was mine again.

He crossed his arms over his chest and asked, "Talk."

"I'm talking… So what do you want to talk about?" I asked, batting my eyelashes innocently.

Then he asked, "What's your name?"

Are you sure you don't know me? You said I look familiar..." I sneered.

He replied, "Please, I'm not playing games here. Just tell me your name so I can look you up online..."

"Cattleya Sullivan."

He paused, staring at me intently as if he was on the verge of asking something but then stopped himself.

"Is my name ringing any bells?" I asked with hopeful eyes.

"No," he replied curtly, "But whatever game you're playing, I'm not buying it. Why are you carrying a gun in your luggage? Were you sent to kill me? Do you really want to ruin your life for easy money?" He sighed dramatically, "Look, Cattleya... if you value your life, and still want to live a normal life, don't put yourself in danger again. Don't worry, I'll let it slide this time, and I'll let you go tomorrow."

I stood up, my eyes streaking with defiance. "You don't understand. There are things you need to know, things only I can tell you about your enemies. Your secret enemies. And if you allow me, I want to stay here with you."

"Why are you helping me now? Are you a secret agent?" he asked, his skepticism evident.

I laughed softly, "Sort of. I'm on a mission."

"So, your mission is me?" he pointed a finger at himself, a slow smile spreading across his face as if he found the whole situation amusing.

"Okay, woman, Cattleya, whoever you are, stop playing with me—"

"I am not playing with you," I interrupted, my voice firm.

"I'm not going to watch you sabotage my plan tomorrow," he said, his tone hardening. "You know my plan, right? I'm going to meet important people tomorrow, and you're here with me... your boss asked you to stay here with me so you can sabotage my plan?"

I shook my head vehemently. "Trust me, I don't care about your plan. What I care about is my mission."

He sighed heavily, glancing at his watch. "You sleep on the couch. I'm not letting a stranger sleep in any of the rooms."

I smiled at him, happy he was not kicking me away. "Good night."

He paused at the top of the stairs, glancing back at me in confusion. He frowned, clearly bewildered by my carefree attitude. Without another word, he continued up the stairs and disappeared into his room.

While eating the chicken, I secretly clicked the button implanted in the left side of my neck. A tiny chip activated, allowing me to make a quick call to Vlad. "The plan is working. Good night," I whispered, then clicked the button again to deactivate it. I turned to the kitchen sink to wash the dishes.

Suddenly, I gasped. A phone was ringing, lying near the counter. It was Jaxon's phone, and the caller ID displayed 'Elise.'

I answered the call, listening intently to Elise's voice. "Jaxon, when are you coming back home? You know, your son's birthday is coming and he wants you there..." she trailed off, her voice filled with concern when she didn't hear Jaxon's response. "Jaxon, are you still there?"

A slow, predatory smile spread across my lips. "Hello, Elise," I replied, my voice a chilling blend of amusement and malice.

"W-Who's this?!"

"It's been a long time. I guess you miss me, right?" I laughed softly.

I heard her voice trembling in fear, "I-Impossible!"

And I whispered, "Listen to me carefully. I'm coming back to get what's mine."
