Chapter 48: ARE YOU SERIOUSLY SUPPORTING HER ?

Diana POV

“I am tired of her tantrum” I said to myself after blurting out that Enzo was in my room last night, whether she took it as lies I didn’t know, but I really didn’t know how I muttered the courage to speak to her the way I did, perhaps this has changed me.

“You little liar, tell me it isn’t true” Francesca shouted at the top of her voice, as I could see the disappointment in her eyes, and somehow it made me feel Good.

“I think I have answered your question, kindly leave my room now “ I said as I walked towards the door, I just needed to rest, all this questions were posing me off.

“And if I don't , Forget It i doubt if he had anything to do with you, you just want to make yourself feel useful!!!” She blurted out

“Are you sure of what you just said ???, I think quite the opposite Francesca” at that instant I knew that was the first time I called her name to her face.

“Did you just call my name to my face” she said , I already knew this would turn into exchange of words and since she wasn’t going to leave , I was ready for her.

“What else can I call you ???” I said firmly to her

“Well you are not to blame, if you weren’t such a slut to have slept with Enzo, you wouldn’t have felt this big, you shameless whore !!”

“Kpaiiiii!!!” I yelled, unable to hold back my anger any longer. Without warning, my hand swung through the air and landed a sharp, burning slap across Francesca’s cheek.

She had just called me that terrible name, and the words hit me harder than I expected. When she turned around to face me, her eyes were wide with shock, frozen in disbelief at my sudden reaction.

The room seemed to go silent for a moment, the weight of what had just happened hanging heavily between us. Her shocked expression told me she hadn’t anticipated that I would stand up for myself like that.

The sting of my hand on her face was nothing compared to the sting of her words, but still, I felt every bit of it.

“How dare you…!!!!” Francesca spat, trying to lash out in return, but before she could make a move, I grabbed her wrists firmly, holding her hands up and gently pushing them away.

“Enough,” I said, my voice steady but laced with frustration. “I’m not going to let you talk to me like that.”

Just then, a voice cut through the tense air.

“What’s going on here?!” Enzo’s sharp voice broke into the room as he stepped forward, his eyes flicking between Francesca and me, sensing the fight.

I released Francesca’s wrists slowly but didn’t back down. “She called me a whore,” I said quietly but clearly.

Enzo’s expression darkened, and he looked at Francesca. “Is that true?”

“How can you even ask me if that’s true?” Francesca snapped, her voice trembling with anger. “You guys had sex, and I called her that because if not that, then what else am I supposed to say?”

There was a heavy silence. Enzo’s face went pale, shock spreading across his features. He hadn’t expected me to tell Francesca about last night.

“Doesn’t mean you should call her a whore,” Enzo said sharply, cutting through the tension.

Francesca’s eyes narrowed, voice rising. “Are you seriously supporting her? After everything?”

I stood my ground, heart pounding but feeling a strange sense of strength. “It’s not about taking sides. It’s about respect. And I won’t let anyone disrespect me like that.”

Enzo looked between us, clearly torn but firm. “Enough.

“This changes everything,” Francesca said, her voice sharp and cutting through the silence. “So she is the one you’ve been fighting for all along?” She looked directly at Enzo, who said nothing, his silence louder than any answer.

“Be prepared for what’s coming next,” she warned, her eyes flashing with a dangerous edge. “And you should know exactly what I mean.”

Enzo’s jaw tightened, but his voice was calm and commanding. “Leave the room, Francesca.”

She hesitated, torn between fury and uncertainty. Her eyes darted between Enzo and me, searching for any sign of weakness.

“Now!” Enzo roared, his voice echoing in the tense space.

With a final glare, Francesca slammed the door behind her, her footsteps fading as she left us alone.

“You’ll regret this,” she called out over her shoulder, the threat hanging heavy in the air.

It was just I and Enzo left in the room , you could feel the silence and tension amongst us as if we were waiting for who to talk first.

“Hey” he said slowly walking towards me

“Don’t come closer,” I said firmly, holding my ground, but it was like my words fell on deaf ears—he took a step forward anyway.

“She called me a whore for being with you,” I said, my voice trembling but fierce. “You were the reason she said it, but you didn’t say much about it. Why?”

He looked at me, eyes serious. “I cautioned her,” he replied quietly.

“That wasn’t enough,” I shot back, anger bubbling up. “It was nothing. If you weren’t the one I was with, it would’ve been different.” The words slipped out before I could stop them, raw and painful.

“So, do you regret what we had? Or do you prefer whatever deals you’re making with Carlos?” I asked, my voice shaking with hurt and frustration.

He looked at me calmly, trying to steady the situation. “It’s not what you think, Diana,” he said softly, but there was a tension beneath his words that I couldn’t ignore.

“Get out!” I blurted out, my emotions pouring out faster than I could control.

For a moment, the room was completely still. Then, almost quietly, he said, “I’m sorry.”

Those two simple words hit me like a shock—I froze. That was the first time I had ever heard him apologize, and somehow, it changed everything. The anger inside me softened just a little, replaced by something I wasn’t ready to name yet.

“Leave i said softly “ he left while I sank in to my bed tired of what had happened as I drifted off to sleep

Hours later I woke up finding out the time was already 8pm as I heard knocks on my door.

“Who is there” I called out as I opened the door knob only to find Enzo holding a bouquet of roses
