Chapter 185: She is saebyeok
Ravens fingers brushed gently through my hair, sweeping stray strands away from my face as my eyes slowly fluttered open. Sunlight filtered through the bedroom window, bathing the bed in a warm, golden glow.
I glanced down at myself. I was still naked beneath the soft silk sheets we shared. Raven smiled, leaning down to press a tender kiss to my cheek as he gazed at me.
"You devoured me like a lion last night," I whispered, rolling my eyes in playful exhaustion.
Raven let out a soft laugh, pressing another lingering kiss to my lips before pulling my hand up to touch his face. "I've longed for this for so long, Jina. Why wouldn't I?"
Before I could answer, a loud, sudden banging echoed off the bedroom door.
We scrambled out of bed immediately, grabbing our clothes scattered across the floor. Once we were fully dressed, Raven walked over and pulled open the door. Siwoo stood in the hallway with a wide, mischievous grin, thrusting a ringing phone straight against Raven's ear.
Raven hesitated, taking the phone with a bewildered look.
"Hello? Yes, this is Raven... Wait, the wedding planner?!"
Raven's eyes went wide, and his jaw dropped so low he almost shouted Siwoo's name in utter disbelief.
Siwoo burst into a fit of laughter, turning away as Raven began speaking animatedly into the receiver with the planner. She walked into the bedroom and sank onto the edge of the mattress beside me, studying my face.
"I am so happy to finally have you as my brother's wife," Siwoo said softly, a genuine, glowing smile resting on her features.
"And I am so happy to finally see you as Raven's true sister," I replied, covering her hand with mine. "I used to imagine Soah was his real sister, even after realizing she killed my father. I tried telling myself I would forgive her, but the guilt of her sins was so heavy. Thank goodness she wasn't his actual blood."
Siwoo pulled my hand up, pressing a gentle, affectionate kiss to the back of my fingers. "Thank you, Jina. Thank you for accepting to be part of this family, and thank you for everything. Right now, we have a massive wedding to plan and trust me, you are going to love every single detail."
I almost laughed at her excitement, but then Siwoo's expression shifted, growing serious as she looked deeply into my eyes.
"There is someone you need to see before she's gone forever," Siwoo said, her tone dropping. "Maybe you can tell her everything you ever wished to say. I just got off the phone with the Wizard of Gwi."
"Who?" I asked, my brows pulling together in shock.
"When Saebyeok died... her essence transferred into her child's body," Siwoo explained quietly.
"What?!" I gasped, sitting up straight. "She had another child apart from you two?"
Siwoo nodded. "She gave birth months ago, but she kept it hidden. She knew her prophecy was coming to an end, so she planned a vessel ahead of time."
Without another word, I threw off the sheets and stood up from the bed. "Take me to see the baby."
Siwoo nodded, and we walked out of the house. Raven was still pacing the living room, deep in conversation with the wedding planner as we slipped out the front door.
A short drive later, our car pulled up outside the Seer's secluded cottage.
The faint, cheerful giggling of an infant drifted from inside as we pushed open the front door. The Seer was sitting near the hearth. The moment her eyes landed on me, a faint smile crossed her face as she turned to Siwoo.
"She survived?" the Seer asked softly.
Siwoo gave a firm nod.
The Seer stepped into the inner room and returned holding a small, blanketed bundle in her arms. She walked over and held the child out toward us.
I stepped closer to look at the infant and the moment my eyes locked onto the baby, my heart pounded heavily against my ribs.
Through my powerful sight, I didn't see an innocent child. I saw Saebyeok. The dark, suffocating aura of the demon was wrapped around the tiny vessel like a shadow.
Siwoo reached out to take the baby, but I instantly recoiled, shaking my head vehemently. "Don't touch her! This is Saebyeok”not a child. No innocent child looks like this. Everything inside that body is Saebyeok!"
Siwoo's face darkened in sudden horror. She looked down at the infant, whose giggles instantly died out, replaced by a cold, unsettling scowl.
I pointed at the vessel, my voice firm. "Look at her! Can't you see the dark intensity still building inside?" I turned sharply to the Seer. "Didn't you tell her?! This isn't a reincarnation anymore this baby is Saebyeok!"
The Seer gave a somber nod, looking at Siwoo. "She speaks the truth. I tried hard to convince myself otherwise, but it's real. Saebyeok has completely overpowered the child's spirit. Everything you see now is Saebyeok, carrying her dark intentions. She is already harboring thoughts of building a force far worse than before."
"What?!" Siwoo nearly screamed, quickly setting the baby down onto the center of the bed as if she had been burned. "This is my mother?! How could she still want to cause more destruction after everything?!"
Siwoo turned to the baby, pointing a trembling finger at the tiny face staring back at her with dark, ancient eyes. "You have always failed, Saebyeok! Look Jina is alive! You always feared her, didn't you? And she sees you for exactly who and what you are!"
Siwoo scoffed bitterly, pulling out her phone. "I even asked the Wizard of Gwi to spare you, completely ignorant of how evil you truly are!"
She dialed the Wizard of Gwi immediately, urging him to come to the cottage without delay.
Within minutes, the old wizard's car pulled up outside. He stepped into the cottage, encountering the child for the very first time since the truth was revealed.
He didn't make a sound. He didn't touch her, nor did he take a single step closer. He simply stood at the far end of the room, his dark eyes fixed silently on the baby as a heavy, dangerous stillness filled the air.
