Business Idea
Kieran's POV
I took an extra two days off from work and spent them with Xander stuck by my side. It was surprisingly easy and my boss didn't even complain much. Something about me deserving it. As for Alice's mother, she reached out to me. The salon was closed for now.
I still had no idea what was going on with her but I was grateful for the break.
Xander barely left me alone for a second. Not like I was complaining though. I loved it but I knew it was also because he was worried that either his mom or Sabrina would come for me again.
But what he didn't know was that, if they did, I would be ready this time.
He told me all I needed to hear. I decided I was going to fight for us.
The thought alone was supposed to be scary but if anything, I felt empowered.
I was tired of being pushed around when I didn't even choose this fate.
The moon goddess placed me right where I was and I was going to fight to stay there.
I was fated to be the Luna of the Death shade pack. I wasn't about to ridicule our goddess’s judgement by running away like I always do.
I was now back at work and just reminiscing on everything. Those two days were absolute bliss.
Cecil was hovering over me as I washed the dishes.
“Aren't you supposed to be out there serving people or something?” I asked her, a knowing smile lacing my lips.
“There aren't many customers today, so Danielle has it covered.” She explained.
“Ah, I see” I hummed in response.
“Come on Kieran, just tell me what exactly happened! You've been beaming ever since you got back” she noted and I bit the inside of my cheek to control the smile that threatened to break loose.
“I don't know what you're talking about” I said and she groaned.
“Who exactly is this guy? Asides from being so hot, he possesses an aura and something I can't quite place” she said and my ears perked.
That's because he's our Alpha and king Cecil.
I couldn't tell her that though.
It was a miracle that a simple change of clothes could confuse people so much.
He looked so different in casual clothing that most people don't recognize him.
“He's… hmm… a superhero” I said and she giggled.
“Yeah right” she said before straightening.
I could feel her glare drilling the side of my head and I almost laughed.
She was frustrated. She had spent every free time she had pestering me to no end and I wasn't budging, not in the slightest.
“Cecil!” Danielle, one of the other workers, called out and Cecil groaned, before turning to me again.
“This isn't over” she said as she adjusted her uniform.
I smiled in amusement as I watched her leave.
She was right about one thing. I had been beaming ever since I got back. I mean, I couldn't help it. What was a girl supposed to do?!
I found a strange strength in Xander’s words. It was quite eye clearing really. Why did I have to put up with being put down when even the man involved is ready to tear anyone in my way apart?
They think I'm so weak and I can't do anything and maybe they are right but I was willing to work on that. I could not afford to be weak as the Luna of the pack.
I sighed as I rounded up my shift and wiped my hands clean. I stretched and cracked the stiff bones in my shoulders.
Alex and I had ‘the talk’ before I left. It was bound to happen, I knew that but I was trying to push it as much as possible.
I had agreed to take on the responsibility I was fated to but it was going to be at the detriment of myself. My work…
That was what I thought at first.
But after giving it much thought, I realized it wasn't true.
I had worked my ass off and saved up quite a lot.
I wanted my own place. A salon first, and then a restaurant.
That was the plan I always had but as much as I had saved up, I still didn't have even half of the money yet.
Xander offered to help me out but my pride was in the way. He knew I would refuse and so, he tried to strike a deal with me.
He would help me out, and once I earn enough, I'll pay him back. But that was a lot of work. What if it didn't work out? What if the business didn't do well? How the hell was I going to pay him back?
He told me he believed in me and he knew that everything would go perfectly but… me? Not so much. I didn't believe in myself at all. I was scared as fuck.
I had taken some notes while working here and there and so, I knew necessary steps that needed to be taken but still!
Still…
“Just do it” My wolf suddenly said, which caught me completely off guard because she never spoke. She barely ever did, so it was extremely shocking.
“Accept the deal” she said again and I sighed in defeat.
I mean… it was quite a tempting offer.
Okay. Fine.
But…
Only on my own terms.
After rounding up with my shift and running hand overs, I made my way to my room upstairs.
Once I got there, I changed my clothes and got to planning and writing.
Everything that had anything to do with my plans.
I had to be thoroughly prepared.
Once I was done, I straightened my shoulders and stared at the ink scribbled book in front of me.
I was ready.
Not completely.
But to an extent, yes, I was very ready.
I reclined into my bed as another
sigh slipped past my lips.
My entire body ached from all the work.
Ugh, I just wanted my man.
