Chapter 246

“What did you guys take from upstairs?” Ann asked as she eyed at them suspiciously even though they were they were empty handed apart from Martin who had a black small business case in his right hand. He had still walked in with it, but who knows what they had put inside it?

“And who are you to question me?” Martin asked coldly. Though Ann didn’t name names, she was staring at his briefcase intensely. What more did they need to hear from her?

Ann turned her gaze with a flushed face. She could talk back to Scarlet and Sophia, whom she was used to bullying but she could never talk back to any of the men with them.

“That’s what we thought,” Austin sneered as he threw her a disdain look. Ann felt as if her heart had been pierced. She had never been spoken to in that tone in the past but since Scarlet came back, everyone she met seemed to be talking to her the way they wanted without caring what she will feel.

“Let’s go. Stop wasting time on her. She is just finding anything to talk with you as she believes that she will get your attentions soon,” Scarlet said as she looked at Ann.

Ann glared at Scarlet when she exposed her. However, after sometimes, she couldn’t help but panic. Why did it seem like Scarlet knew her too well?

They had never lived together for even more than two weeks and she believed that those two weeks aren’t enough to know someone as much as it seemed she knows her. She frowned as she took a deep breath trying to calm herself and forcing out the cold chill she was feeling as she thought of her.

‘I must be crazy after being tortured these few days,’ she inwardly convinced herself.

Scarlet was still staring at her, thus she saw the panic, she raised her eyebrows as she wondered why the young lady seemed to be in panicking and they had not done anything to her.

“Could she be plotting something?” Scarlet asked as she stared at Ann trying to figure out what was happening but she was cut short when she felt a gently squeeze on her hand.

She turned her gaze, and saw her aunt looking at her worried.

Sophia felt really bothered, since they arrived, she felt that there was something wrong with Scarlet but couldn’t pinpoint what was wrong. Initially, she had convinced herself that she was thinking too much and she shouldn’t. However, Scarlet’s words, it seemed she knew Eve inside out while was impossible as they had never lived together for long.

She tried calming down and swore to question her once they get back in the manor. She hated the feeling Scarlet was releasing when they saw the Jenkins.

At the same time, she blamed herself that she had been reoccupied and didn’t notice everything that was happening around Scarlet since they came back.

She suddenly recalled that Scarlet seemed to have changed after waking up on the day they came back but that still didn’t explain what was happening.

Scarlet looked at her aunt and slowly frowned when she realized that Sophia was deep in thought as she stared at her. Her reaction was the same as Ann, the difference was that Ann had been filled with panic while her aunt’s eyes were filled with worry.

“Aunt,” she softly called out bringing her back to reality.

“Let’s go,” Sophia said as she flashed Scarlet a smile and Scarlet smiled back.

Mr Jenkins was watching everything with green envy, countless times, he had wanted to speak but he was afraid of the men. What if he made things worse and they even chase him out of the mansion and bankrupt the company? After all, he had heard that Shanaya had a lot of companies under her name so the Jenkins Group wasn’t of much importance to them as it was to him.
