Chapter 206: Acquiring Shares in Safe Harbor Media
The floor-to-ceiling windows in Reynolds Holdings Group's top-floor conference room blocked out the noise from outside. The massive glass panels reflected the city's densely packed buildings, as well as Frederick's tense profile.
On the table lay Safe Harbor Media's stock price chart, plummeting at an alarming rate.
The red curve looked like a gaping wound, shocking to behold.
Olivia sat on the leather sofa nearby, her fingertips casually tracing the edge of her tablet, her gaze locked firmly on that falling curve.
"Rockefeller's playing hardball." Frederick's voice broke the silence in the room, his tone cold as ice. "Traffic restrictions, short selling, spreading rumors—he's pulling out all the stops. Safe Harbor Media is being pushed to the edge this time."
Olivia looked up, her gaze landing on Frederick's tense jawline, a faint smile playing at the corners of her mouth.
"I'm already surprised he lasted this long."
Without further hesitation, Olivia turned to her assistant beside her:
"Send word—mobilize all our available liquid assets and invest everything into Safe Harbor Media. Leave nothing in reserve."
Frederick turned to look at her, eyebrows slightly raised, though a hint of approval flashed in his eyes. He picked up his phone, his finger hovering over the screen, but still asked one more time:
"A hundred billion in funds, all in? You're really not leaving yourself an out? We can't underestimate the Rockefeller family's financial power."
"Underestimate?" Olivia laughed softly, her fingertips tapping lightly on the tablet with crisp sounds, the sharpness in her eyes growing more intense. "He wants to play the capital crushing game? We'll play it to the end with him. However much he throws in, I'll match it. Not only will we invest, but we'll announce it publicly, make sure the entire business world and all of public opinion knows—Safe Harbor Media, I, Olivia, am backing it."
After all, Stellar Industries Group now was nothing like before.
What was the point of making all that money?
Wasn't it for moments like this?
The hesitation in Frederick's eyes vanished instantly, leaving only the determination to stand beside her in battle. His fingers moved quickly across his phone.
Then all of Reynolds Holdings' liquid assets would follow suit.
Half an hour later, Safe Harbor Media's conference room was in chaos, documents scattered across the floor.
The employees looked grim, the air thick with despair.
Sean sat at the head of the table, heavy dark circles under his eyes, looking haggard as if he hadn't slept in days.
There was no denying that his decision to repay his debt had indeed pushed all of Safe Harbor Media to the brink.
But he didn't regret it.
Back then, if not for Olivia, he wouldn't even be alive.
Still, looking at these partners who had built everything from nothing with him, he couldn't help feeling somewhat guilty.
Suddenly, his phone rang.
An excited voice came from the other end.
"Sean! Great news! We're saved! Stellar Industries Group and Reynolds Holdings have invested in Safe Harbor Media. Our market value is now number one in the industry!"
He paused, incredulous.
From the incident until now, he hadn't received a single call from Olivia.
Of course, he had wondered if his decision was too foolish.
But now, his eyes grew more determined:
"I understand! From now on, Safe Harbor Media's reports don't need to hold back anymore. We don't need to fear any pressure from Rockefeller. Publish all his dirt. If anything happens, I'll take full responsibility!"
...
Meanwhile, at the Rockefeller family's private estate, it was a completely different scene.
In the luxurious living room, an expensive crystal wine glass was violently smashed to the ground, shattered glass scattered everywhere.
Ashton stood in the center of the living room, his face dark, chest heaving violently, and punched the assistant beside him in the face.
"Useless! All of you are useless! I've thrown in so much money, pulled so many strings, and still can't suppress a small Safe Harbor Media? What the hell are Olivia and Frederick up to?!"
The assistant trembled all over, enduring the pain without daring to cry out.
"Sir, Olivia and Frederick... they've injected a hundred billion in funds and become Safe Harbor Media's largest shareholders. They've also opened up all overseas distribution channels. Our traffic restrictions and blocking aren't working at all. Safe Harbor Media's reports have spread across the entire internet, and... and public opinion is starting to turn in their favor..."
"Turn in their favor?" Ashton ground his teeth, a vicious look flashing in his eyes. "Keep throwing money at it! No matter what, you must suppress this matter for me!"
When it came to throwing money around, he'd never been afraid of anyone!
The assistant didn't dare object and quickly nodded:
"Yes, sir, I'll arrange it right away!"
On the other side, in the artist lounge at Stellar Industries Group Media, warmth filled the air, mixed with some indignation.
Several top-tier artists sat around the sofa, their phone screens lit up, all showing public opinion about Olivia, Frederick, and Safe Harbor Media.
"This is too much!" Lena spoke first, her finger sliding across her phone screen, teeth clenched tight. "This Rockefeller—business suppression is one thing, but his methods are so disgusting! And now he wants to block public opinion!"
The male artist beside her nodded heavily, his face serious:
"Yeah, Ms. Shaw single-handedly brought us from nobodies to where we are now. She's treated us well. Now that she's in trouble, I absolutely won't just stand by!"
With that, he opened his social media account and posted a message supporting Olivia.
"I'm posting too!" Another artist immediately chimed in, fingers quickly typing on their phone. "Back then, I was just an unknown model. If not for Ms. Shaw, how could I have fifty million followers!"
As the words fell, everyone present was moved, all picking up their phones, quickly editing posts and images, and hitting send without hesitation.
In an instant, across all major social platforms, hashtags about Stellar Industries Group Media's artists collectively voicing support for Olivia and Frederick shot to the top of trending topics.
These artists had massive fan bases, and in just ten minutes, they had bombarded nearly a hundred million people's phones.
