Chapter 582
Sebastian could tolerate Christina's jealousy, her envy, even her madness that might harm the child.
But it absolutely couldn't be because of Robert.
He closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, they were filled with sadness. "Is there really no way back for us?"
His assistant, who had been with Sebastian and knew everything about their relationship, looked troubled at the question.
After all, too many things had come between them.
The assistant opened his mouth, "Mr. Boleyn, if you really care about Mrs. Boleyn, you should talk to her face-to-face and clear things up."
Not keep guessing each other's thoughts like this.
Sebastian sneered, "No chance. Forget it. Let's head back to the hospital."
No matter what, Tamsin was carrying his child.
Although he had no expectations for the child and even wanted to get rid of it, he knew he couldn't.
If anything happened to this child, Athena would be the first to break down.
Besides, he wanted to see just how far Christina would go for Robert.
The car quickly returned to the hospital, and Sebastian got rid of the smell of smoke on him before heading to the ward.
The doctor happened to be coming out, "Are you the patient's husband? You need to take good care of her emotions. She's pregnant, and if she's happy, the baby will be healthy..."
The doctor kept talking, reprimanding him.
Sebastian, impatient, gave a curt reply and walked in.
On the bed, Tamsin looked extremely weak, her delicate face pale and devoid of color.
Hearing the sound, she opened her eyes and brightened up at the sight of Sebastian. "You're here. Everyone was mocking me, saying the baby's father doesn't care at all. I told them they were lying. How could you not care about us?"
Sebastian's eyes darkened, "The doctor said the baby is fine. You just need a few days of observation. I'll find a nurse to take care of you."
As he spoke, he was about to turn and leave when Tamsin suddenly cried out.
Sebastian instinctively turned back, seeing her about to fall headfirst to the ground. He quickly grabbed her arm and lifted her back onto the bed.
He didn't notice the room's camera capturing the entire scene.
Back on the bed, Tamsin patted her chest in shock, "That scared me. I thought I was going to fall. I wouldn't mind getting hurt, but I worry about the baby."
Footsteps sounded outside.
The door opened, and Athena and Kaida walked in.
Ignoring Sebastian, they went straight to Tamsin.
"What's wrong with you? Didn't we agree to go to the check-up together? Look how dangerous it is for you to be alone."
"People's hearts are unpredictable. Just because you wouldn't harm others doesn't mean others won't harm you. What if something happened today?"
Kaida's words were aimed at Athena, blaming Tamsin but meant for her ears.
Everyone knew Christina was behind Tamsin staying here to rest.
Athena, feeling awkward, cleared her throat, "Alright, it's done now. No need to say more. I've arranged for the best specialists to treat you."
To placate the mother and daughter, she handed over a box.
Kaida opened it, and her anger dissipated instantly.
"We just want to protect Tamsin. If someone can do it once, they'll do it again."
"We get that. Don't worry, I've hired bodyguards to keep you safe. They were hidden today, so they didn't react in time."
Athena looked remorseful. She hadn't expected Christina to go this far.
Sebastian, tired of staying, said a few words and left.
Athena followed.
In the car, Athena looked grim, "I know you got that message. I did too. Can't you just let each other go? Christina's heart isn't in this anymore. If you keep this up, you'll only hurt each other."
Thinking of Christina and Sebastian tormenting each other, she couldn't imagine what the future held.
Sebastian was resolute, "No way. Even if we die, we'll die together. I won't let go."
Athena sighed, feeling helpless.
She turned to call Christina, but after several tries, no one answered.
"Forget it. I don't want to get involved. But one thing is clear: don't harm the child, or I'll fight you."
At the company entrance, Athena got out, giving her final ultimatum, "Tell Christina that if she can't accept the child, I'll raise it. But she can't harm it."
Watching her leave, Sebastian felt a headache coming on.
He desperately wanted to see Christina, to hold her and tell her how much he was suffering. But that seemed like a distant dream.
At the hospital, Kaida was frustrated, "You always talk about going to work. I'm really worried about you."
"Why? I nearly had a miscarriage. I'm not feeling well. Shouldn't you comfort me?"
"Can you use your brain? You think you're flawless, but there are so many holes."
Kaida threw a stack of documents on the bed.
Tamsin glanced at them, her pupils shrinking, "How did you get these?"
"Easy. You bribed them. Guess if I offer more money, will they help me?"
Of course, they would.
Luckily, Kaida found out. If it were someone else, she'd be terrified.
Tamsin clung to Kaida's arm, "Mom, I just want to secure my position. Look, it's working. Sebastian and Christina are fighting, and Estelle is gone. It's good Estelle is gone; he won't compete with my son for inheritance."
"What?"
Kaida was shocked, but Victor's voice came from the door.
He strode over and grabbed Tamsin's arm, "Are you crazy? Do you know how important Estelle is to them? If they find out you're involved, do you want to die?"
"Mom, you heard that. Do you still want to help Tamsin fight for the company? She's clearly trying to get us killed. If Sebastian finds out, he won't let it go."
