Chapter 583
Everyone could see the strong bond between Sebastian and Christina. Their relationship was so solid, nothing could easily come between them.
Victor thought that no matter what Tamsin tried, it wouldn't shake Christina's place. All this drama would only make things worse.
But Tamsin and her mom were too caught up in the idea of a big inheritance to listen to reason.
"So, tell me, what exactly did you do? Besides bribing the doctors and nurses and getting Estelle out of the way, what else did you do?"
"Are you seriously lecturing me? I'm your sister. Anyway, I was super careful. I picked a spot with no cameras and got someone to distract Estelle with a small animal. They won't find out."
"Even if they don't find out now, what happens when Estelle comes back? Where did you have them take her?"
Victor tried to stay calm, but seeing Tamsin's excitement made his heart sink.
"Forget it. You made this mess, you deal with it. I'm not getting involved. Even if Sebastian comes after you, I won't help."
"Now that you have better prospects, of course, you don't want to deal with me. I don't need you either. Just stay away from me."
Now that they were rivals, Tamsin wasn't sure Victor would really help her, so it was better to cut ties now.
Seeing Tamsin and Victor argue like this made Kaida really sad.
"What is wrong with you two? When we were at our poorest, we still stuck together. Why are you fighting now?"
"Mom, you shouldn't be asking me. You should ask them what they're doing. The company was supposed to be handed down to me, your son. Why are you fighting over the inheritance?"
Victor was equally disappointed. "We had already discussed so many things. Why are you going back on your word? Is it because Tamsin is pregnant with Sebastian's child?"
"It has nothing to do with the child. I just want to give you both a fair chance. Besides, Tamsin has sacrificed a lot for us over the years. Don't you appreciate that at all?"
Kaida held Victor's hand, trying to reason with him. "I've already talked to Tamsin. You two will compete fairly. No matter who inherits the company, don't harm each other."
"Mom, you're being naive. Do you think if Tamsin gets the company, she won't worry about me trying to take it from her? Forget it. You two might be confused, but I'm not."
Unable to bear it anymore, Victor turned and left.
As soon as he stepped out of the hospital, he saw Isadora arriving.
Their eyes met.
In that moment, they felt a strange sense of shared suffering.
Victor spoke gloomily, "You must be happy now. Tamsin and I are at odds, fighting over the company. I'm all alone. Are you satisfied?"
Isadora paused, then realized what he was saying. "So, Tamsin wants the company too? That's actually good news. Everyone wants a piece of the pie. I'm curious to see what you two will do for it."
Evil fights evil, Isadora thought. The three of them had always been united against her. Now that Victor and Tamsin were competing for the company, it was fantastic news.
Isadora couldn't hide her schadenfreude.
Victor was furious. "Don't get too happy. Dad already said the company would go to a man, so I'm the only heir."
"Fine, then let's see who comes out on top. Either way, I'm not getting involved."
Isadora turned to go inside.
Victor grabbed her arm. "Tell me, are you really not going to fight for the company? I don't believe you."
"Believe what you want. I've told you many times, I have no interest in the company. I'm only fighting for what my mother left me."
As for the company, it was on the brink of collapse. What good would it do her?
Isadora gave him a meaningful look. "A word of advice: women can be more cunning than men. If Tamsin finds she can't beat you, she might seek help from others."
"Be careful. Even though Sebastian has no feelings for Tamsin, he might make concessions for the sake of the child. When that happens..."
She left it at that.
Isadora turned and walked away decisively.
Victor stood there, lost in thought.
He quickly realized Isadora was trying to sow discord, but her words made sense.
No matter what, Tamsin was carrying Sebastian's child. If Sebastian decided to help her, then...
Despite being by Robert's side these days, it was clear Robert didn't truly value him. If something happened, Robert wouldn't go out of his way to help him.
Feeling a surge of anxiety, Victor kicked the door in frustration and drove off angrily.
Watching his car fade into the distance, Isadora stepped out of the shadows, a satisfied smile on her face. "That's right, fight. Fight until one of you is destroyed."
She had fought against these three for years, knowing they were selfish and only cared about their own interests. To them, family ties meant nothing compared to real gains.
A mother could make her child sick to gain favor.
A sister could flirt with different men to get more resources.
They appeared united, but in reality, they were a fragile alliance, destined to fall apart over their greed.
Isadora would wait patiently, watching them destroy themselves.
With that thought, she headed to Tamsin's hospital room.
The door was ajar.
She could hear the faint voices of the mother and daughter inside.
"So, what do you think? I think I did a great job. As long as they start to resent each other, I can slip in and take advantage."
"There isn't a man in the world who isn't tempted. If I throw myself at Sebastian, he'll accept me eventually."
Tamsin rambled on about her seduction plan.
Kaida, however, didn't agree.
While it's true men can be easily swayed, not all of them are like that. Sebastian was clearly different.
Anyone could see the deep connection between Sebastian and Christina. They were inseparable, like parts of each other's lives, tangled together in a way that couldn't be undone.
