Chapter 34

FLASH BACK

~ HYDRA'S COMPANY ~

~ KEIR'S OFFICE ~

"Come in," Keir said at the sound of someone knocking on his door, going through his laptop as Sandy walked in with a file in her hand.

"I already accessed the file, sir," Sandy said, raising it up to show him as she walked to his table.

She circled around to his seat, placing the file in front of him and opening the pages for him to see the errors. It wasn't easy to see these errors. Well, not technically errors, but twisted words in contracts.

A lot of companies had a way of twisting their words when drafting their contracts; it sounded sweet at first glance, but looking at the words in detail, you could tell something was fishy. It wasn't her job to go through his contracts, but after one time when she had helped, he gave her full control of that assignment.

Every single contract had to go through her before getting to him to access it and see if the circled parts were befitting to him or not.

"Right here they claim we will have fifty percent, but right here, sir, you can see that they are claiming that if by chance we are unable to meet up with the sales for a month, we would be cut off to thirty percent.

Now the way they placed it, it looks like of course we will make sales within a month, so that's not a big deal, but the truth is we can't make sales within a month," Sandy explained. "We have to first market this product, and consumers can be quite tricky when it comes to a new product.

Even if the brand is well known, it would take two months and more to get them to fully adapt to the new product."

Keir nodded his head, looking at all the places she had circled and scribbled down in her own notes. She was very grounded when it came to business. He wondered why she didn't start a business of her own. or maybe she did?

"Do you perhaps run a small business of your own?" Why did he bother asking that? He wasn't one to care about his workers personal lives.

No, sir, I don't," Sandy replied.

Even if the answer was yes, he wasn't expecting her to say yes. Who would admit to having another job to their boss? It was best to look like their lives depended on the job so they wouldn't get fired for having another source of income.

He watched her bend down in front of him to pick up her pen that had just fallen, and he stared at her butt staring at him. Was she trying to seduce him? He noticed lately that her skirts were shorter than before, and her gowns always revealed her bossom.

"Sorry," Sandy apologized, picking up the pen from the floor as she felt Keir's hand on her waist. She shivered at his touch as she quickly stood up, keeping some distance from him. Sorry, sir," she said, bowing her head.

Was he wrong? Was she not trying to seduce him? But why wouldn't she? All the women that worked here wanted to fuck him; all he had to do was send for them, and they would come running as fast as they could. Or was she just playing hard to get? He had to know.

"Sorry for what? I thought you were trying to..."

No, sir, I would never do that." Sandy interrupted him, already knowing what he wanted to say. It was true she had bent down in a seductive way, but it was not intentional; she wasn't trying to seduce him. She was here solely to explain the contract to him.

"Why do I feel like you are pretending?" Keir said, rising up and walking to Sandy as he placed his hand on her shoulder, pulling her in for a hug, but instead she shoved him off and slapped him right in the face without thinking.

~ HYDRA'S MANSION ~

~ LIVING ROOM ~

Rue walked swiftly down the stairs. She was taking a nap when she heard Keir's voice downstairs. She needed to talk to him about the picture she saw of Octavia and Atlas all smiley at the event; if she was right, then something happened between Octavia and Atlas.

She remembered her lipstick was smudged, and she looked out of place when she came back to meet them.

Overnight, she had been thinking of how she could get in touch with Atlas so she could set him up with Octavia and get them secretly photographed again, but she couldn't figure it all out.

Atlas was an unpredictable man. He was on social media, but the accounts were not run by him but by his manager. She knew this because when she messaged him, the reply was regarding brand deals, which wasn't something someone like Atlas would first say.

So it only made sense that it was his manager or personal assistant that was running it, and it was only for business purposes.

She also found out that Atlas was a model, and he was currently moving from runway modeling to magazine covers. He was currently working on an ongoing project, and he was doing well for himself.

It made her think about herself and the fact that she had come to her for her modeling career as well as Keir's, but she was so concerned about Keir that she didn't even bother about her career. She couldn't even remember the last time she went to the studio; her excuse so far was that she was ill and needed enough time to rest.

It was a good thing she was wealthy, because if she wasn't, the agency would have cut her off a long time ago.

She made sure to dress properly as well as do her make-up. She could hear Keir's voice but more of his mother laughing. She wondered what could be so funny early this morning. Did he bring Octavia home again?

"Keir," she smiled, walking up to them in the living room as Mrs. Hydra was discussing something with Keir and drinking wine. Mrs. Hydra was the first to turn to look at her, followed by Keir, who didn't seem that excited to see her.

"Aren't you getting ready to leave for work? Keir asked, since she had gotten to this house. He didn't exactly see her working or doing anything model-related; she seemed to enjoy being in his space and trying so much to dress so pretty around him.
