Chapter 47 Spirit Realm

*****Celeste’s perspective*****

Selene and I had been training EJ for three weeks now. He was almost ready to go home. We wanted to give him one more week of training just to be sure.

“Remember that when creating or destroying, it only takes a thought. So be careful about what you think when you are in those modes.” I cautioned.

“Right, be careful what I think. Got it. And to help plants grow, I just touch the ground and send the thought through the earth, right?” EJ asked.

“That’s right. Everything happens with a thought. All you have to do is make sure you are in the right mode of thought. Don’t let your emotions control you or random things happen.”

“Yeah, I noticed.”

“That is all for now. Selene wants to train Max and Zeus today. She is on the other side of the blue woods tending to the wisteria trees. Find her after you have something to eat.”

*****EJ’s perspective*****

I went to grab some food from their kitchen. I often forgot to eat because I didn’t want to stop our lessons. So it was good that they would remind me to eat once in a while. I was learning so much and I enjoyed learning from each of them. I do think Cecelia wanted to take a break and was glad I was here for a bit to do half of her work. Deciding which powers a witch got was pretty cool. Selene liked working with and training Max and Zeus. She told me I was a special child. Most lycans are only given one wolf spirit. Even in the case of one twin absorbing the other, during the first shift one wolf spirit usually kills the other. But I am a hybrid wolf who absorbed my twin, a true chimera. So I have two wolf spirits and only one is a hybrid. Celeste didn’t just teach me how to use my powers. She also taught me some combat skills. Things I didn’t even know I could do. Like becoming a giant, or transforming into another creature. Transforming inanimate objects into creatures was also pretty cool.

After I ate, I went to find Selene. She was tending to the wisteria trees. I had asked her if I could take one home; they were very beautiful trees and I thought my mother would love one. She said I could, which was one of the reasons why I was meeting her there.

When I found Selene, she was putting a wisteria sapling in a pot.

“I see you found me. Remember to take great care of this tree. It is a sacred tree and should be treated with great respect. Plant it near the packhouse and it will bring luck and wealth to your pack.”

“Yes, Selene. I will do that.”

“Now, shift into Max for training.”

“Yes, ma’am.” I said, shifting into Max.

*****Max’s perspective*****

It was my favorite time of day, training with Selene. I loved being in the spirit realm, EJ let me out a lot more than when we were home. Plus Selene taught us things we didn’t know we could do, well all of them did, really. But Selene was my favorite. She liked to run with me, not just train me like the others. She made me feel welcome in ways no one else had. She wasn’t afraid of me or intimidated by my size. And Zeus really liked it when she gave belly rubs. She transformed into various creatures when training us, so we could learn how to defend and attack accordingly.

“Max, are you paying attention?” She asked.

“Yes, you wanted me to make it rain.”

“So, make it rain. What are you waiting for?”

“Nothing, just trying to remember how.”

“It’s the same as when EJ does it.”

“I know that. There.” I said as it began to rain.

“Good job, Max. Now make it snow.”

“Okay.” I said as the rain turned to snow.

“Make it a heavy snow, I want to play in it,” she said.

“I want to play in it, too,” I said as the snow began to fall faster and heavier.

When there was about a foot of snow on the ground we began to play in it. Running, jumping, and rolling in it. We made some snow angels and had a snowball fight. The way she trained was more like play time. It was fun.

*****Zeus’s perspective*****

Max shifted into me. I was grateful. I loved the snow. I was glad he left it snowing. I played with Selene, pushing her over in the snow. Then I rolled around in it, burying myself and popping up again. It was fun. After a while, Selene stopped the snow. “Let’s go for a run,” she said. Let’s run, I thought back. I love to run. Especially when it is windy out. We ran for about thirty minutes, then she transformed into a bear and we fought for a bit. Afterwards, she raced me back to the house.

*****EJ’s perspective*****

When we got back to the house, we shifted back. I was still a little cold from Max and Zeus rolling in the snow and my hair was wet. I stood in front of the fire and warmed up quickly.

It was finally time for me to go home. I had been here for a month training with the moon goddesses. They were actually a lot of fun. I know Max and Zeus loved it here. Selene said we can come visit whenever we wanted to. I said my goodbyes and portalled home.

I arrived in the library, startling my mother. She jumped up and ran to hug me.

“You got so big while you were away,” she said.

“I guess I had a growth spurt.” I said, handing her the potted tree.

“That’s a lovely tree. We can plant it later, right now dinner is being served. Everyone will be excited to see you home.”

“Good, I’m starving. And it’s good to be home, mom.”

We went to the dining hall for dinner.
