Chapter 75: Moon Goddesses
*****Selene’s perspective*****
I looked to see how things were going for Enoch. He ate our brother’s heart and should have come into some powers by now. What I saw surprised me a little. Max had taken over control. This won’t do.
“Sisters, we need to do something about this. Enoch needs our help.” I said.
“Why, what’s happened?” Celeste asked.
“Max has taken control from him. I will see if I can find out why.”
I looked into the past. Ah, I see why! Poor Enoch. He must be going mad being locked away for so long.
“Sisters, we must help the boy. We will bring him here for training. It seems he is having problems controlling his magic, so Max locked him away.”
“Oh my, that poor boy. He never should have eaten Kenzu’s heart,” Cecelia said.
We did a quick clean up before we left. My sisters can be slobs sometimes. We walked through the portal and went to Hyacintho Lunar.
We stepped into the library in the packhouse, same as before. Enoch was not there this time. But we saw him approaching the packhouse outside. We waited patiently by the stairs. Max was surprised to see us when he walked in.
“Goddesses,” he said as he knelt before us.
“Get up child, you do not need to bow before us.” I said.
“We have come to help Enoch. Let us go to the library.” Cecelia stated as Max stood up.
“Maybe you should let him forward, now.” Said Celeste as we entered the library.
“I do not think that is wise, he is very angry and might do something bad.” Max said.
“Let him forward, now, so that we may speak with him.” I demanded.
“Yes, ma’am. I will let him forward to speak.”
We watched Max struggle to keep from shifting and knew that Enoch was forward.
“Enoch, calm yourself. We are here to help you. But you must calm yourself now, so that Max will allow the shift.” I said.
“Wh-wh-what is go-going on?” Enoch stuttered.
“Do you remember us, child?” Celeste asked.
“Yes, you came to me last year and told me I had to fight Kenzu.”
“He remembers us, what joy!” Celeste exclaimed.
“Max, now that Enoch is calm, please shift back.” I said.
“I do not think that is wise, goddess.” Max said.
“Do it or I will force the shift. It will be very painful if I have to force it.” I said.
“I will do as you ask, moon goddess.” Max replied and then shifted back to Enoch.
“Thank you, goddess. I have been trapped in there for I don’t know how long. It’s nice to be out again. And I prefer EJ, if you don’t mind.”
“Very well, EJ. You need to let your parents know we will be taking you to the spirit realm for a while. We need to train you, you are part god and no one here can teach you like we can.” I said.
“Do I need to bring anything,” he asked.
“No, just yourself.” I said.
He left the library to go tell his parents that he would be leaving for a while. My sisters and I waited patiently for him to return. Then we heard a loud noise outside. We rushed to the window to see what it was. EJ had destroyed a huge rock, perhaps it was a statue. He was still talking to Strix, apologizing for the mess he made and promising to fix it. His father rushed over. They were all talking. EJ told them he needed to leave. He said he was going to the spirit realm with the moon goddesses. I wasn’t expecting him to mention us, although I should have. Strix said he was crazy and wouldn’t allow it. And another statue became dust. EJ apologized again. Shawn calmed them both down. Then he told Strix, EJ needed to go with us. She kissed EJ on the forehead and then stormed off. Shawn gave his son a hug and wished him luck, then went after Strix. EJ looked sad as he came back into the packhouse.
“We can go now,” he sounded defeated.
“What’s wrong,” Cecelia asked.
“Nothing,” he replied.
“Alright then, let’s go.” I said as I opened the portal. We stepped through.
EJ nearly fell over when we entered the spirit realm. Our house wasn’t much to look at. We basically only used it when assigning wolf spirits and when making mate bonds. Cecelia also used it when assigning powers to witches. Sure witches inherit their power from their parents, but Cecelia decides which power they get or if they should have both or sometimes three or four powers depending on how many powers the parents have.
We told EJ a little bit about the spirit realm and introduced him to some of the wolf spirits. We told him he could let out his hybrid and his wolf whenever he wanted because it was safe here. We weren’t just going to train him but also his hybrid and wolf spirits as well. We allowed him access to our library to study all the histories. One day he would join us here, so we decided to start by teaching him what we do. How to create mate bonds and assign wolf spirits. How to assign powers to various creatures and when to do so. When I created the fae, I made it so they were born with random natural powers. They get their magic from nature as opposed to witches who get their magic from Cecelia and the spirits. We told EJ that when a wolf spirit is born, they have no memory of their previous lives. But we do repeat the mate bonds, that way they can always find their mate.
Cecelia worked with him on assigning magic to witches. She told him how to do it and let him try on his own a few times. I showed him how to use the portal to drop in on people who needed extra guidance or a boost in confidence. Celeste showed him how to form mate bonds. It wasn’t as easy as it looked. First Celeste has to assign the wolf spirit to a baby. Second she has to wait for another baby to be available to assign the mate to. And lastly, she has to make a bond between the human sides. This can get tricky. Sometimes the mates are born years apart. She can’t just put any wolf spirit in just any child. She has to make sure they complement each other.
In EJ’s case, only Zeus has a mate. Max is the first of his kind so he doesn’t have a mate yet. But maybe he will in his next life.
