Chapter 115: Leave me alone
Allison's POV
"Hi, my love," I beamed at Aiden, as I entered Tasha and David's residence.
I had just gotten back from work, and had decided to come pick up my son.
"Mummy!" He beamed, showcasing his tiny yet adorable teeth, as I hugged him." I missed you."
"I missed you too, my baby." I replied, as he hugged me back.
Looking up, I saw David and Tasha staring at us, identical warm smiles adorning their faces.
"My favourite couple, how are you?" I uttered, after disengaging from the hug.
"We are doing great," David replied, wrapping an arm around Tasha, and pressing a kiss to her cheek.
With flustered cheeks, Tasha leaned into his hold, and I couldn't help but feel a full jab in my heart.
David and Tasha were literally the most loving and pleasant couple that I'd ever met.
Not only were they beautiful inside out, their love story was just the cutest. They had gone from being co-workers to being husband and wife.
The way they also looked at each other was just so cute and heartwarming.
Although, I disliked men, I couldn't help but wonder how it'd feel to be loved and cared for by a kind and affectionate man.
Max is always right there. He asked you out, didn't he? A voice in my head spoke, and I quickly shrugged it off.
As much as I wanted to force myself to like him, I just couldn't.
Sure, he was tall, attractive, and charismatic, there was no absolutely no spark between us and I couldn't force it.
"Mummy, I made strawberry pancakes today," Aiden revealed, gently tugging at my hand, which yanked me out of my reverie.
Caressing his hair, I replied. "Really?"
"Yes, mummy. It was very nice. Aunty Tasha and Uncle Dave helped me with it."
"Oh, my baby. I'm so proud of you. Will you make your special pancakes for me tomorrow?" I asked, ruffling his hair, and he nodded happily.
"Yes, mummy."
"That's great. Thank you, my love."
"I can't believe I almost forgot," Tasha huffed, patting her forehead. "I finally found that guy's social media. The one who employed me to manage that big charity gala."
"Oh, is that so?" I asked.
"Yeah, let me show you," She said, as she typed something on her phone. "The man is so handsome in like an unreal, Greek god way. No disrespect to you, babe." She darted David a sheepish look, and he just huffed before walking away.
"Is he that attractive?"
"Yes, look at him," Tasha handed me her phone. "It's like he was created by Adonis himself."
At the first glance of his picture, I felt my breath hitch my throat as a mixture of undecipherable emotions swirled within me.
To say I was stunned would probably be an understatement because never in my life had I considered the probability of Tasha ever meeting Leo, talk less of working for him.
"Why do you look like you've seen a ghost?" My best friend asked. "Is he that fine that he made you pale?"
"No, of course not," I fibbed. "He's handsome. I'll give him that."
"Your reaction is a bit underwhelming," Tasha snickered. "I heard he was engaged at one point but broke up with the lady. I wonder what went wrong."
Right, that was true. How could I have forgotten that Leo had abruptly ended things with me after his engagement?
So he had eventually decided against going through with the wedding.
That was quite interesting. However, I couldn't understand why the news made my heart flutter.
Ignoring the stupid feeling, I plopped onto the nearest couch and flapped my eyes close.
"Probably his character. Wealthy men like him often have huge egos and are always the biggest jerks," I responded. "He probably acted like a dick toward her. He looks like an egoistic scumbag."
"Damn, did he offend you?" Tasha asked. "Why are you so mad?"
Only then did I realize that I had spoken too much and too angrily.
I couldn't help but wonder if Tasha would have the same reaction when she found out that the man she was defending was Aiden's sperm donor.
Squeezing my eyes open, I shook my head. "No, I'm just exhausted. I'm sorry for speaking like that."
"It's fine, babe. Would you like some lasagna? I just threw it in the oven before you got here."
"Sure, thanks, T."
"No problem, babe."

I sighed, as I downed the last drop of coffee in my mug, eyes strained with immense fatigue and sleeplessness.
Gazing down at my wristwatch, I saw that the time was now thirty minutes to nine in the evening, and I was still at work.
My team had a report due for submission tomorrow but we were far behind from finishing it. Being the generous team leader that I was, I had allowed them to leave about an hour ago.
I was almost done anyway, and I was beyond happy but tired by the fact.
Inhaling sharply, I stood up to stretch my sore muscles, moaning blissfully as my muscles popped and cracked in a satisfying manner.
"You are still here?" Leo's voice drifted into my line of hearing from behind, and I quickly composed myself.
"Yes," I replied in a monotonous voice, as I gazed at him.
Why was he still at work? I thought he had left a couple of hours ago.
It's none of your business, Allie. I inwardly chided myself, as I regarded him again.
He was holding a plastic bag and a disposable cup of what seemed like coffee.
"Here," Leo outstretched the plastic bag, and I scoffed, folding my arms across my chest.
"I don't want it," I sharply retorted, and my stomach chose that moment to grumble and disgrace me.
Stifling a smile, Leo raised a brow. "Your stomach seems to be saying otherwise."
Before I could respond, he closed the distance between us, held my hand and enclosed the plastic bag with it.
His touch on my skin accompanied with his musky cologne did numbers to my perverted brain, and sent butterflies through my body to my pussy.
To worsen matters, Leo didn't take his hand off me and began caressing my hand while gazing into my eyes, a smirk to his lips.
I was about to close my lips to welcome his in a passionate kiss when he pulled away, smirking.
"Enjoy your food, Allie." He chuckled before strolling away.
Leaving me to stare at the plastic bag, a mix of emotions ranging from embarrassment to arousal simmering within me.
