Chapter 87
Lorenzo POV…
I sat at my desk in my office, staring at the blank computer screen in front of me. I couldn't concentrate on anything. My mind kept wandering back to Angelina, and the breakup the other day. How could she do that? What exactly happened? I had so many questions, but I just left her home in anger. I was so frustrated with my drunken night and now all this.
Now I was damn sure that something had happened that night, and I was going to find out about that.
I still couldn't believe that she had broken up with me after our one-year relationship, but I was not going to leave her. She had become my world, my everything. We had been together for over a year, and I had thought that we were happy, we were okay. But then, after the club the other night, everything had changed. It was the worst night.
I had been so drunk that I didn't even remember what had happened. But I woke up the next morning with a strange smell in my bed.
I didn't know what to do. I was heartbroken. I loved Angelina more than anything in the world. I just realized that she was not only my obsession, my possession, but she was also my love. I couldn't imagine my life without her now.
I tried to focus on my work, but it was no use. I was unable to stop thinking about Angelina. I wondered if there was anything I could do to know everything.
I thought about all the good times we had together. We laughed together and enjoyed every bit of our togetherness. I couldn't believe that it was all over now. There must be something that I didn't know, but fuck I couldn't understand anything around me now.
I stood up and walked over to the window. I felt so lost and alone. I don't know what to do with my life now. Angelina was the only light, but I would talk to her when she arrived at the office.
I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. I knew that I had to move on from my past. I couldn't dwell on the past. I had to start thinking about the future which I wanted to build with Angelina.
I turned away from the window and walked back to my desk. I sat down and opened up my computer. I had to get back to work. I had a lot to do, and I didn't want to fall behind.
I was staring at the stack of papers on my desk. I had a back-to-back meeting schedule, but I couldn't focus. My mind kept wandering back to Angelina, and the breakup the other day. Something was bothering her and I would figure it out myself, then we would be like before.
I sighed and rubbed my temples in frustration. I had a meeting to start in five minutes. I needed to focus. I will talk to Angelina tomorrow because she needs to be clear-minded when we talk.
I took a deep breath and stood up. I walked over to the mirror and adjusted my messed-up tie. I tried to put on a brave face, but I knew that I was falling apart inside. I needed Angelina at this time with me, besides me.
I walked out of my office and headed to my first meeting. I sat down at the conference table and everyone greeted me. But as I tried to focus on the meeting, my mind kept drifting back to Angelina. It always took me towards Angelina.
I sighed and rubbed my temples. I had to focus on the meeting. I couldn't let my personal life interfere with my work.
I took a deep breath and stood up. I turned to my clients and said, “I'm so sorry, but I need to reschedule this meeting. I'm not feeling well.”
They looked at me with concern. “Are you okay, Mr. Lorenzo?” one of them asked.
I nodded. “I'm fine,” I said. “I just need to take a little break.”
I gathered my papers and walked out of the conference room. I went to my office and closed the door. I sat down at my desk and buried my head in my hands.
I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what I was going to do, but I wanted to go away from the office. So I just packed my bag and headed towards the elevator and moved away from the office building.
I entered my mansion, exhausted from work and this damn breakup with Angelina. I walked to the couch and collapsed, feeling defeated. I looked around the empty house and sighed. I couldn't believe that Angelina was gone. I knew that I would have a long talk with her regarding this childish behavior of her. I would fuck this behavior out of her.
I opened my eyes and looked down at the floor. I saw something shiny near the couch. I bent down and picked it up and saw that it was a pregnancy test stick. My heart skipped a beat. I couldn't believe it. Angelina might be pregnant.
I felt a surge of excitement. I was going to be a father. I was going to have a family. I couldn't wait to celebrate it with my baby girl.
I grabbed my phone and called Angelina. But she didn't pick up. I called again and again, but she still didn't pick up.
I didn't know what to do. I was starting to panic. I was pacing back and forth in my living room, my phone clutched tightly in my hand. I had been calling Angelina for hours, but she wasn't answering. I was starting to go crazy.
“Where is she?” I muttered to myself. “Why isn't she picking up? Damn it. “
I stopped pacing and stared at my phone for a moment. Then I dialed Angelina's number again.
It rang and rang, but no one answered.
I sighed and dropped my phone on the couch. I ran my hands through my hair and pulled at it in frustration. I couldn't even ask Caleb or Emma about it.
“What is going on?” I asked no one in frustration. “Why is she ignoring me?”
I picked up my phone again and looked at the screen. I couldn't believe that she wasn't answering my calls. I was getting afraid of whether she would want to keep the baby or not. Fuck, fuck shit. I kicked the couch and took my phone again.
I dialed her number again, but there was no answer.
I threw my phone across the living room. It hit the wall and bounced back onto the floor.
“Damn it!” I shouted.
I didn't understand what was happening. Angelina had been acting strangely. We had talked about our future together, and I wanted to take her out on a picnic this weekend. What if someone was threatening her to do these stupid things?
But now, she was ignoring me and I couldn't get a hold of her. I couldn't reach her.
I didn't know what to do. I was starting to feel scared. I couldn't imagine my life without Angelina.
I turned away from the window and walked back to the couch. I picked up my phone and looked at it again.
I closed my eyes for a moment and released a sigh. I hesitated for a moment, then I dialed Angelina's number again.
It rang and rang, but no one answered.
I sighed and put my phone down. I knew that there was nothing I could do now. I just had to wait and see when Angelina was ready to talk to me. But I couldn't control my excitement about becoming a father.
I closed my eyes and tried to relax. But my mind kept racing. I kept thinking about Angelina and the baby. I had no idea how I was going to live without them. I didn't even know whether everything was going to be good or not.
