Chapter 86

Angelina POV…

I sat down at the kitchen table with my parents. There was no job offer, but I had to make an excuse to be away from this place because now I couldn't stay here and not miss Lorenzo. I couldn't even tell them about our relationship. Everything was so different and difficult.

“Mom, Dad,” I said. “I have something to tell you.”

My parents looked at me expectantly and smiled. I forced myself to say the bitter words.

“I got a job offer in another country,” I said. “I'm leaving tomorrow.”

My parents' faces fell. They were shocked and disappointed. They were looking at me with shock. My mom's eyes filled.

“But Angelina,” my mother started. “You can't just leave like that. You have your life here,” she said as a matter of fact and I couldn't deny it, but I had no option now.

“I know, Mom,” I sighed. “But this is a great opportunity for me. It's my dream job.” I exaggerated a little more.

“But what about us?” my father asked sadly. “What about your family and friends?” they said, making me emotional.

“I'll miss you all very much,” I said. “But I promise to stay in touch.”

They were silent for a moment. They were still trying to process the news, I guess.

“I guess we're going to have to get used to the idea of you being gone,” my mother said, finally making me nod my head in agreement.

“I know,” I said. “But I promise to come back and visit as often as I can,” I assured them.

They hugged me tightly. They were sad to see me go, but they were also proud of me for following my dreams. There was no job, no dream now except to raise my baby in a better environment.

“We love you, Angelina,” my mother said.

“I love you too, Mom,” I replied and smiled amidst the tears running down my cheek.

“And we'll be here for you, no matter what,” my father said and kissed my forehead.

“Thank you, Dad,” I said.

We talked for a while longer, catching up and making plans for the future. I knew that I would miss them terribly, but I was also hoping for a new chapter in my life. I was also sad to leave everyone behind, but I couldn't do that more now.

I went to my room and sat on my table.

My heart ached as I stared at the computer screen, my eyes welling up with tears. I couldn't believe it. Lorenzo had been my everything. He had made me laugh, he had made me feel loved, and he had given me the hope of a future together. But now, all of that was gone.

I couldn't bear the thought of staying in the city where I had shared so many memories with Lorenzo. I needed to get away as soon as possible to start fresh with my baby. So that's why I decided to book a flight to Hawaii where I had to spend the vacation with my parents and where I had always wanted to visit with Lorenzo again. It is the place where first time I first met Lorenzo as my baby daddy.

I clicked on the airline's website and started to search for flights. I found a flight that was leaving the next day and booked it without hesitation. I didn't care how much it cost or how long I had to stay in Huawei. I just needed to get away from Lorenzo and the pain he had caused me because it could affect my baby.

Once I had booked my flight, I went to my closet and started to pack my bags. I didn't pack much, just a few clothes and some toiletries. I didn't know how long I would be staying there, but I knew that I needed to start this new chapter in life as soon as possible.

As I packed, I cried. I cried for the love I had lost, for the future I had imagined with Lorenzo, and for the pain that I was feeling. But I also cried tears of hope. I knew that this was a new beginning for me and my baby, and I was determined to make the most of it.

My parents were out now because of their work, so I texted Lorenzo to meet me at my home.

Not an hour later, he arrived and I led him to the table.

I sat at the kitchen table, my hands folded neatly in my lap. Lorenzo sat across from me, his brow furrowed with worry.

“What's wrong?” he asked. "You' haven't texted me all day."

I took a deep breath and looked Lorenzo in the eye. “I want to break up with you,” I said, dropping the bomb.

Lorenzo's eyes widened in shock. “What? Why?”

My voice was cold and emotionless. “You don't love me, so I can't continue being your side chick always,” I said. “It's that simple.”

Lorenzo stood up, his anger rising. “How can you say that? We've been together for over a year. We have plans for the future.”

I stood up as well. “I know,” I said. “But things change. People change. And I've changed. You haven't confessed, and I am tired of everything. “

Lorenzo shook his head. “I don't believe you, that's not the truth, and you know that.”

I stared at him defiantly. “Believe what you want,” I said. “But I'm telling you, I'm not in love with you anymore. And I want to break up. I am tired of you now.”

Lorenzo took a step closer to me. “You're making a mistake,” he said. “You're going to regret this, I will never leave you alone.”

I took a step back. “Maybe," she said. “But it's my mistake to make. And I've already made it.” I was adamant about my decision. I couldn't let his emotions weaken me.

Lorenzo stared at me for a long moment. Then he turned and walked out of the apartment, slamming the door behind him.

I stood alone in the kitchen, my heart pounding in my chest. I had done it. I had broken up with Lorenzo. But I knew that the hardest part was yet to come. I had to learn to live without him. I had to do that for my baby.

I took a deep breath and sat back down at the kitchen table. I knew that I would be okay. I was a strong woman, but I needed to be more strong because I had a life growing inside me. I would protect my child from everything a mother could do.

I didn't want Lorenzo to dig deeper, That's why I just finished everything by saying that I was not loving him anymore.

The next morning, I woke up early and got ready for my flight. I was still feeling sad and heartbroken, but I was also determined to move on. I had breakfast with Mom and Dad, and then I hugged them, and we all cried because I was their princess, and now I was going to stay away from them.

I forbade them to come with me to the airport because I took a cab and went away, leaving everything behind.

I arrived at the airport early and checked in for my flight. I went through security and made my way to the gate. I sat down in a chair and waited for my flight to board.

My flight was called, and I boarded the plane. I found my seat and buckled my seatbelt. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I was ready to start a new life with my little one.

The plane took off, and I looked out the window. I watched as the city, I lived my whole life, below me, grew smaller and smaller. I knew that I would never forget anything here, but I also knew that it was time to move on.

I closed my eyes and leaned my head against the window. Even though I was sad and crying because of the pain that Lorenzo caused me, I was also thinking about the future. I didn't know what I would do without my family, friends, and him? I sighed and closed my eyes.

I was also glad that Mom and Dad didn't ask me for any details, but I also knew that they wanted to, but they didn't, and I was grateful for that.
