Chapter 55: Betting
Anna's POV
Susan couldn't help but blurt out, "I heard the standards for picking a Race Queen in these racing clubs are super high! Among her peers, Ella's definitely one of the hottest and most charming."
Jane turned her head and nodded. "Yeah, I heard she's got a ton of high-quality suitors now. Most of the guys into racing come from rich families, and there are so many good-looking ones. You guys should see if there's anyone suitable."
Susan, who was really into good looks, got all excited and said, "That's so sweet of you, darling!"
"There will definitely be a lot of boys who will be smitten by you!" Jane said to Susan with a smile, then suddenly looked at me. "Anna, you too, you deserve better!"
Jane had comforted me for a long time after knowing I broke up with Danial. Although I didn't tell her the reason for the breakup, she assumed he must have done something wrong.
Originally, whenever I thought about what happened last night, my whole body would almost freeze, and I would feel cold all over. But seeing them so happy, my mood lifted a bit.
As he turned the steering wheel, Frank, who was sitting in the driver's seat, said, "There are indeed many quality guys in the TNI supercar club. If you fancy anyone, I can help you check them out."
Susan replied with a smile, "Thanks, that would be really helpful!"
Soon, we arrived at the entrance of the club.
As soon as we entered the hall, we were greeted by a magnificent black steel circular roof, an avant-garde design surrounded by lights that exuded a high-tech ambiance.
There were two glowing blue lines on the floor, with a row of luxurious sports cars of various colors on the outside of the lines, and the area between the two blue lines was for pedestrians.
"Wow!" Susan exclaimed softly, holding my hand.
Apart from the straight glowing lines, the floor was black, and the surface of the floor had a kind of translucent material, making the shadows of the cars and lights above more dazzling and dreamy.
At the end of this path, there was a huge glass case with a very expensive-looking sports car inside.
Behind this glass case, there was a colorful spiral staircase. At first glance, it gave the impression that the car was suspended in mid-air along with the colorful spiral. But actually, there was a high glass base under the car.
"So cool!" I couldn't help but exclaim to Susan.
At this moment, a young man dressed in high-end custom clothes walked down from the second floor. He greeted Frank familiarly, "Frank, are they your friends?"
Frank immediately introduced, "This is my partner Jane, whom I've mentioned to you. These two are her best friends and my classmates, Susan and Anna."
Then, Frank introduced us, "This is Mark Reed. TNI is his father's business."
Mark patted Frank on the shoulder. "Come on, dude. Oh, by the way, a lot of drivers from EGO and LM are here today. We were just entertaining them. There's a race later, you came just in time to watch it live."
Frank put away his half-joking expression and answered seriously, "Okay, sync the live data with me later."
Hearing their conversation, I realized that Frank might have some business cooperation with Mark.
I quietly walked behind with Susan, while Frank and Mark chatted about more professional topics, and Jane listened attentively on the side. Mark then introduced to us, "Our club's drivers are now resting in the preparation area; the entire seventh floor is for the service of the drivers."
We looked around and saw a professional team busily assisting the drivers, checking their status.
"So cool!" Susan whispered excitedly in my ear.
Just then, I noticed a few people wearing different team uniforms from TKI walking towards us, and leading them was Nick.
Nick was rocking a racing suit with a dark blue base color, complemented by black and white details, making his deep blue eyes even more mesmerizing.
He looked more mysterious and calm than usual. There were plenty of handsome guys around, but as soon as he showed up, all the girls' eyes were glued to him.
"Mark, where did you disappear to?" Nick asked Mark, acting like he didn't even see me.
Mark pulled Frank over and said, "This is my friend Frank Brown; he's here to connect with me on electronic control unit technology."
Nick replied, "I've heard of him; his family has been doing mods in this area for years."
Mark nodded. "Yeah, aren't you also in the racing modification industry? I heard you've made quite a fortune in this area. Maybe you guys can see if there are any opportunities to collaborate on the technical side."
Nick replied indifferently, "Sure, thanks, bro."
Although Nick seemed friendly, I could tell that he didn't seem to think much of Frank's technology, probably because I had spent more time with him.
Nick stood in the distance chatting with Mark, while we all sat around a round table, and I sipped my latte.
Mark and Nick talked for a long time, and finally seemed to finish, walking towards us. At this moment, Ella walked towards Nick with big strides.
Ella was wearing a black and white leather jacket similar to the TNI racing suit, paired with a black leather short skirt.
Although the clothes weren't revealing, due to her hot figure, she looked extremely sexy.
Her hairstyle was equally exquisite, with her blonde hair braided into many fine braids. Paired with her delicate makeup, which struck a perfect balance between heavy and light, she looked beautiful enough to be aggressive, yet just right to highlight her natural beauty.
She casually draped her arm over Nick's shoulder, her smile brimming with provocation and allure. "Looking forward to my reward?" she teased.
Nick looked at her and asked, "What reward?"
Ella looked straight back at him. "You'll know if you win; don't let me down!"
After saying that, she left with her helmet, her back looking chic and charming.
For some reason, Ella seemed more attractive than before. She used to be a cold beauty, but now her aura was stronger and more outgoing.
Mark teased Nick, "She's very charming. What do you think?"
"Maybe." Nick casually picked up a beer glass with ice.
At this moment, a girl in a work shirt joked with Mark, "Even your team's Race Queen doesn't support you, Mark! Reflect on that!"
Then, she looked at us. "I know you guys are students, but you can also place bets. A lot of guests came today, and we have a lot of support. Who do you plan to support? I have free chips here, consider it an employee benefit."
I was stunned for a moment, but Susan and the others didn't seem surprised at all, they seemed used to it.
Indeed, in their wealthy circles, betting on races to profit and socialize had long been a habit. Using large sums of money to support a team could even be a way to get closer to that team.
