Chapter 5: I'm not your fan

As soon as I reached home, I saw the boy from yesterday sleeping on the couch. I smiled at the scene. I like him this way better. Silent and cute. I went to my room, which he was using for a while, to take my clothes. I saw soup in the bowl untouched. I sighed.

What does he think of himself?

I got ready for my job and went out of the room. He was awake and rubbing his eyes. "Where are you going?" He asked in a sleepy voice.

"Work."

"When will you return?" Why does he need to know that?

"Around 11 pm." I told him bluntly.

"What?! That late. What will I eat then?" I knew something was fishy. This ungrateful

one.

"Just look in the fridge and eat whatever you find." I told him and rushed to my job. Same place, same job and same boring day again.

'Argh! I finally can go home now.'

It was the only thought on my mind, I had while dragging myself to home. I had almost forgotten about the boy I had saved, until I saw him smirking at me.

"What?"

"Well babe, don't you regret saving me?" He asked me with a smirk on his face. What the fuck should I do? And did he just 'babe' me??!

"No, why would I? Is it bad to save a poor soul who was on the verge of dying?" I rolled my eyes.

"So you don't know me?" He asked me. That made me think who he is to be so proud of himself.

"No?" It came more as a question.

"And if you are an idol then I am sorry, I am not your fan." I told him before he could misunderstand and reply.

"I am V. He proudly announced. What??! He is who?!

"Pft, hahaha...sorry...haha." I immediately burst out and could not control my laugh.

"What kind of," I laughed, "name is that? Are you a co-comedian?"

He looked at me shocked and muttered something that I could not take up.

"WHAT?!" I said, still laughing.

He just stared at me blankly.

"Whatever, I am going to bed. I am tired."

I told him as I stretched my arms and went to my room.

Ethan's POV:

Is this girl for real?! She doesn't recognise me? Or is she just acting? I will find that soon.

I went inside her room and saw her sleeping peacefully on the floor. Why is she sleeping on the floor?

Hah! Why should I care? I jumped on the bed and drifted to my dreamland.

*The Next Morning*

"Why aren't you running all over the place like yesterday and where is your school dress?" I asked her as she was sitting calmly on the couch.

"What kind of school is on during Saturday?" She raised her eyebrow. Aish, I don't even know what day it is. I have totally been detached from the outer world and why hasn't Jake found me yet?

"Well, you also look like a school student. Don't you go to school?" She asked curiously.

"No."

"Why?" She asked.

"What do you mean by why?" I retorted, annoyed.

"Don't you want to have a secure career?"

Yeah, this is it. I am giving up. She really doesn't know me.

"I don't have money and even home to live, so how can I think of going to school?" I tried to play with her.

She looked at the ground, maybe feeling guilty and stood up but I held her wrist and pulled her in my lap. She looked shocked. Cute.

"Well now I have you to take care of me till I recover. Right?" I asked, holding her chin, making her face me. She looked flustered. Is she blushing? Well, I mean there isn't a girl who wouldn't.

"Y-yah, w-what do y-you want to eat? A-aren't you h-hungry?" She stuttered.

"Anything except yesterday's soup will work."

"O-okay, I am also eating today so I will make something edible."

She giggled. Aish, she made that soup just because she did not have to eat it.

Narrator POV:

Both of them were eating in silence, when Ethan decided to break the ice. "So, tell me about yourself. I can't stay at someone's house whom I don't know anything about."

The girl, without any knowledge of who she was talking to, told him everything about her. Maybe, she just wanted a friend who could listen to her when she was going through a lot.

The boy just listened to everything she said, from her past to present. From her dreams to ambitions. He was really fascinated by the girl in front of him.

How she trusted a total stranger knowing nothing about him except his name, which he was never taught to do.

"So tell me about yourself now. I also can't keep anyone whom I don't know about." She asked, making the boy choke on his drink.

She also wanted to ask about the bullet wound but decided to start it off with an easy question.

"I—" He looked contemplated for a while.

I am homeless. I have only me in my family. This much should be enough." He said, void of any emotions in his voice.

"I am sorry. I did not know." Ella said with guilt in her eyes thinking what he said was true.

Hearing that she couldn't gather up the courage to ask about his wound as she has already reminded him of a bad memory.

They both kept chatting, joking and playing around. Josh had never felt this happy and free in his whole life. There was something about this girl that made him allured towards her and made him feel the things he was feeling at the moment.

Just when the things were going good, RING, Ella's phone buzzed. It was a message from her boyfriend.

Boo: Meet me at the park near your house. 11:30 am.

Reyeas: Okay babe.

She smiled to herself and slide her phone into her pocket.

"Who was that?" V asked curiously.

"Mark." She told him and left to get ready leaving the boy confused in his own thoughts.

*After some time...*

Ethan's POV:

I was still puzzled by what happened. She left immediately with a smile on her face and came crying. What happened? I tried to ask her, but she locked herself inside, crying. But why should I care about her? I slept on the couch as she did not open the door. ARGH! I wish I could find my phone to get out of here.

Every part of my body hurts. I have never slept on a couch before and I hated it. As soon as I heard the door sound click, I immediately grabbed and pushed her to the wall capturing her by both sides.

"What happened?" I stared deep in her eyes, but then regretted it as her eyes were red and puffy from crying. Did she cry, whole night?

"J-just get o-off me. It does not concern you." She pushed me. I stared blankly at her. Sighing heavily, I back hugged her.

Why? I don't know. Maybe I wanted her to feel comfortable around me.

"I am sorry." She whispered and I smiled against her neck. “Don’t worry. Everything will be alright."

She just nodded and I let go of her sitting on the couch. That made me rethink, do I really want to leave this place? Leave her?

We still haven't exchanged words since yesterday. Is this a silence torture? It's freaking 4 AM in the morning, and I could not sleep since yesterday after seeing her cry.

She looked so fragile that I wanted to protect her and take her somewhere only she would smile. But am I feeling this way just because she saved me? Ethan Miller, pull yourself together. You shouldn't feel this way. Never.

Suddenly, I heard sobbing. Is she crying again? I looked from the edge of the bed. Her breathing was unsteady. Yep, she definitely is crying.

"Well, I am not good at handling people crying." I smiled at her trying to lighten up the mood.

"No one ever asked your sympathy." Aish, I really am not good at it. I sighed heavily as I failed to cheer her up. Instead I went to her side and hugged her tight. I remember my mother doing it when I was small and upset. So I thought it would help her.

At first she was shocked, but after a while, she snuggled closer to my chest. My heart, it's going to explode.

What is this feeling? Is she feeling the same? Human touch sure is a dangerous thing.
