Chapter 7
Westley's POV
"Mr. Johnson…sir you are running late for your meeting at your fathers office." Said a familiar voice, as I opened my eyes and looked around it seemed as if everything around me was blurry and disoriented.
My head throbbed and my body ached as I groaned and rolled over on to my back
"What? I don't have any meetings today."
"Sir I'm afraid you do."
"How is that possible it's Sunday."
"Sir, today is Monday."
I quickly shot up and looked across my room to see my butler Martin standing in the doorway of my large double doors.
My head pounded as I sat up too quickly
"What? There is no way that it's-it's Monday." I said checking my phone.
"Crap, alright I'll be right down." I said slowly crawling out of bed.
There was no way that I just slept through all of Sunday.
After about thirty minutes I finally got downstairs and sat at my counter top in my kitchen as Kenneth my chef placed my food in front of me.
"You sure had quit the eventful weekend." Kenneth said.
"What?"
"Too hung-over to remember, huh? I've got just the thing for that." he said turning around and pulling ingredients out of the fridge.
I covered my ears with both of my hands and groaned, every little noise was loud.
"What's that?" I said looking at it disgusted
"THAT is what is going to rid you of this hangover." I picked up the glass and took a whiff of it before pulling it away from my nose.
After a few minutes he set a glass of green looking guck in front of me.
"Gross"
"Just plug your nose and drink it.
Trust me, it's better than walking into an office room and being the only one who can't tolerate the sound of a pencil hitting a desk."
I tilted my head backwards and downed the drink.
I coughed a couple times as I tried to get it down all the way.
"Maybe that'll teach you to go a little lighter next time. Eh kid?"
I nodded and grabbed my coat and car keys
"Thanks you guys." before heading down to my car.
As I walked outside towards my car I noticed a group of reporters on the steps of the building
"West! West Johnson! Mr. Johnson could we have a moment with you!" They all shouted, pictures were snapped and cameras were pointed in my face as I hurried passed them.
I lifted the collar of my black pea coat in an attempt to hide my face from the cameras.
"Mr. Johnson what do you have to say about your fathers affair with a college student?" They yelled, I stopped in my tracks in response to their comment.
"Mr. Johnson! What do you have to say about it."
"You know what! I'll tell you all what I have to say about it. Fuck the news! Fuck the reporters! Fuck every single one of you. Leave me and my family alone!"
I said marching passed them and slamming my car door shut, before revving my engine and driving off.
After about fifteen minutes of being stuck in traffic and finally parking my car.
I got inside and into the elevator, the only place where I felt alone but happy for those couple of seconds.
The ding of the doors distracted me, I walked inside the office building and towards the conference room.
"So sorry I'm late. I got strung up with some nosey reporters."
"Yeah…we saw." A guy said pointing to the tv behind me as they replay the live broadcast, my mouth fell open.
"Look you've got to understand these people they never leave me be and I was only-"
Derek, the boss of this office rose his hand to stop me from speaking.
"West, your father saw it and well he's taken you off of this project. I'm sorry." He said, I backed up and stood still in complete shock.
"This is so like him."
"I'm sorry, what?"
"Nothing. It doesn't matter." I said adjusting my coat and heading out.
"Okay well that's it for today's meeting you guys. Let's get to work." I heard Derek say as the rest of his employees exited the room.
Luna's POV
I watched in shock as West stormed out, although he wasn't my favorite person lately I couldn't help but feel a little sorry for him.
That's when I noticed something fall out of his pocket before he got on the elevator.
I went and picked it up;I tried to get it to him but the doors shut too quickly.
It was a piece of folded up mail, it looked to have his address on it. I stood near the elevator for a minute.
"What you got there?"
"What? Oh nothing, I dropped it." I said in response to Bella.
"Okay then, well hey don't forget tomorrow you and I have to go pick out the catering services for the banquet." she said pointing a finger at me.
"Yeah, of course."
After I got off work and packed up my things I took a look at the piece of mail that fell out of his jacket, I contemplated on going to return it to him.
If I didn't I would be a bad person for not returning his mail to him, if I did then I might feel good for returning it but regret it when he would open the door.
After a few more minutes of contemplating I finally decided to do the nice gesture of returning his mail to him.
I typed in the address on the GPS app in my phone and drove to the location.
As I parked my car outside of the building I noticed a slew of reporters standing outside, I shook my head and shut the door.
"Excuse me! Pardon me! Excuse me!" I yelled out as I pushed passed them.
Once they realized I wasn't of interest to them they spread apart and let me through.
I walked inside and through the lobby
"Hi, can I help you with something?" the receptionist at the front desk asked,
"Uh yes, I have to drop something off for a….friend…of mine they live here."
"Oh okay, what is their name. I can ring them for you."
"Oh..uh West Johnson." She looked at me for a short second and then clicked buttons and put the phone up to her ear.
"Hi! Yes Mr. Johnson, this is Fiona from the front desk. Yes, hi I'm good and you.
Thank you, well um yes there is a woman here who has something to drop off for you-"
"What is your name miss?"
"Luna Trickson. Oh okay, alright I'll send her up. Yes uh huh. Thank you."
"Luna… Trickson."
I stood still, awkwardly.
"Just walk down this hall and you will see the elevator on the right. Take the elevator up to the twelfth floor and his room number is 1220."
"Great..thank you." I said giving her a short smile.
After I got into the elevator my stomach began to churn.
I didn't know why.
He didn't make me nervous, maybe it was due to the fact that I was about to knock on his door and give him his mail.
Once I reached the sixth floor I scanned the walls for room numbers before I finally found his. My heart pounded as I rang the doorbell.
It slowly opened up, and in front of me stood a tall lengthy gray haired man in an all black suit.
My guess; he was a butler.
"Please do come in. Mr. Johnson is expecting you, he shall be down shortly."
The elderly man said, greeting me and then leaving.
My eyes scanned the room I was in, it was magnificent. The majority of the room was made up of glass windows, they had a great view of the city.
A winding silver staircase sat in the corner of the spacious room, a comfy looking cream colored sofa sat in the middle of the room, chairs the same color across and next to it.
On the left side of the room was a large wall, a marble fireplace underneath and a large flat screen TV clung to the wall above it.
To the right was a spacious kitchen, the cabinets were a sleek dark brown wooden color, and the fridge was silver.
Black and white marble lights hung from the ceiling, and a black and white counter top wrapped around the rest of the kitchen, three black bar stools sat underneath the counter.
It was unlike anything I had ever seen before.
That's when I heard a door open it sounded like it was coming from upstairs.
I began to fiddle with my phone and look at my feet as I heard the footsteps get closer.
"I was told you have something for me?"
A familiar deep voice said, my head shot up to see a shirtless West Johnson standing in front of me.
He wore dark gray sweatpants, they hung a little low on his hips and showed a bit of his boxers, they said Calvin Klein on them.
I began to blush as I averted my eyes away from him, his dark brown hair was slightly messy and his green-gray eyes seemed lighter than before.
I couldn't help but think about what Bella had said about his abs, he did have a six pack and biceps and a v-line.
The veins in his hands and arms showed distinctively as they wrapped around his forearms.
"Uh..yes. You dropped it after you left..today." I said handing him the piece of mail; almost stumbling over my own words.
"Oh…thank you." he said clearing his throat.
I nodded, we were both silent for a second.
"This place is beautiful." I said looking all around again.
"Oh..thanks, it's okay I guess." he said rubbing the back of his neck. His biceps flexed when he raised his arms.
I couldn't help but think about what had happened this morning.
"I'm sorry, about this morning." I said rubbing my arm.
"It's no big deal, it wouldn't be the first time he's done that to me." he leaned backwards against his couch.
"Your dad?" he nodded
"Yeah, he..has a history of being a bit of an ass."
I pursed my lips together
"I don't understand though, you weren't doing anything wrong when you told off those reporters. I probably would've said the same thing."
"Tell that to him. Everything I say or do makes him pissed or embarrassed.
But whatever I'm not going to play the pity card. Thanks for bringing this back to me." he remarks, crossing his arms; his biceps flexing again.
"Yeah..uh no problem."
"Well…see you aroun-nevermind. Bye." I say awkwardly as I walk towards the front door.
"Luna." he said, I turned around.
"You-uh watch out. I think there's a group of reporters downstairs..they aren't too nice about personal space.." He said rubbing his arm. I looked at him puzzled
"Thanks…"
"Yeah.."
I walked out and down to the elevator. Maybe I had severely misjudged him Westley.
I walked back upstairs and shut my door, I fell backwards onto my bed and stared up at the ceiling.
My room was pitch black, the curtains were closed and no lights were on.
In a way I found it peaceful.
I grabbed my remote off of my bed side table and clicked the middle button to play some music.
I cranked the volume to twenty five, as I blared the music to distract me from the outside world.
I set our pasta down on my kitchen table, Katherine began to eat then looked up at me
"What's wrong? You've been silent ever since you got back today. Something happen?"
I snapped back into reality and looked at her,
"No. Nothing."
I kept thinking about him.
I didn't want to but it was hard not to.
"Okay then, well if you don't eat your pasta I will."she said moving her fork towards my plate before I swatted her hand away.
"It's a guy isn't it? Ah it totally is!"
"What?"
"Yes! I know that look anywhere, it's the 'you can't stop thinking of a guy' look."
"Shut up."
"Calm down crazy! I don't like anyone…"
"Ah! What's his name? Tell me everything!"
Why can't I get him out of my mind.
"Yeah..that's what they all say." she said taking a big bite of her pasta.
Westley's POV
I shut my eyes, and all I could picture was her face.
