Chapter 5: Married

I don't understand why my chest is so heavy now. I'm so worried that I might have a cardiac. Jacob and I are getting marry tomorrow. I don't understand why I feel this way. I feel weak and lethargic.

I also have no one to talk to because Cora is not here. She left yesterday. She haven't come home yet. Her mother was angry. She asks me if her daughter has a boyfriend. Cora didn't say anything to me. I'll tell you if she has a boyfriend just in case.

She said no. She said she is busy with work and is planning to open a business so she will be gone. I'm not worried much about my friend. It's also good that she is working hard to be successful. Her dream is to build a house, own a condo. When that happens, there is no need for her mother to work here. She said she will let her rest. Her Mother's work is not that heavy here with us. We treat our staff as family, that's why there are so many of them so that they don't have a hard time at work. And their salary is not that bad. But I know that they will not work for us forever. They also have families of their own and when their children graduate, they will definitely retire.

I didn't eat today. I just had a fruit shake, in preparation for tomorrow.

"Jacob, can we meet?" Maybe when I see him today, my feelings will calm down. We haven't seen each other for a few days. Not much texting either.

This is probably one of the reasons why I feel so nervous right now.

A few hours passed but Jacob still had no reply. I tried to call him but I couldn't contact him.

I need Cora.

"Cora, what time are you coming home? I need you now."

I sat on the sofa sadly. I don't even know why I'm sad, instead of happy.

At six in the evening, Cora arrived. I was happy because I could tell someone about my feelings.

"Why is your face like that?" she e commented to me while arranging the paper bags she was carrying. She bought a lot.

"That's a lot. Did you withdraw from crypto?"

She laughed.

"I can say that..." Her smiles were strange.

"It's hot!" she complained. Because the air conditioner is not turned on in her own room here in the maid's quarter. She lifted the tie of his hair.

I frowned when I saw the red marks on her nape and neck. Why does she have it again?

"Did you eat sea food?"

"Huh why?" She looked at me. She turned on the air conditioner and rearranged her things.

"Because you have a rash on your neck and nape."

"Oh, yes..." She groped. Smile while biting her lips.

"Go ahead and rest," I said. She seemed to be out of her mind and not in the mood to talk so I went out and went to the garden. I will miss our home. I packed my clothes earlier. It's just two suitcases.

"Hija..." Daddy told me here on the sun lounger. He made it bigger to fit both of us. Sometimes Daddy and I hang out here. Talked about his businesses and about my late mother.

He put his arms around me and I hugged him.

"I'll miss you, Daddy."

He stroked my hair. "It seems like a long time ago, when you were born. I don't know how to raise you alone." We both cried.

"You did a great job, daddy. You're a selfless father. You're the best dad in the universe."

He laughed. "You're the best daughter, hija. Somehow I'll be relieved when I'm gone from this world."

"Dad! You're making me sad..."

"We are all going there. You know daddy is old."

"Do you have a disease that I don't know about? Does your life have a definite end?"

He laughed. "Nothing, Precious. Your dad is healthy."

"Are you sure? Dad... Just please. If you're ill or something please tell me. I don't want to be surprised."

"Nothing, promise."

"Sure fourth..."

"Yes. One hundred percent."

I was worried. To be sure, I will call his doctor later.

The wedding is tomorrow afternoon on a private and isolated island. The wedding coordinators and all the arrangements for our wedding are already there.

Tomorrow morning Jacob will be there first. And Daddy and I will be next afternoon. I will fix it here. I will go down to the venue that has been arranged, in a chopper.

It's tomorrow. I'm so excited and scared, honestly. Because I never experienced having a relationship. I don't know how to be a girlfriend and especially have no idea how to be a wife.

I didn't say my feelings to Cora because she was already asleep. She hasn't eaten dinner. She seems very tired. I didn't open it with Daddy either because I didn't want him to worry.

Before lunch, the HMUA that Dad took fixed me up. Some of our staff were first to be delivered by the chopper. Cora and her mother were also there first.

"You're beautiful, hija. You look just like your mommy."

I've gotten better because of my shape, but I can't see how Mommy and I look alike, especially since I'm very fat.

We are already in the chopper and I can see the venue from up here. I haven't even come down yet but I've started to cry.

My nervousness and fear yesterday have been replaced by joy. I'm happy because I'm getting married today to the man I love.

I prepared a vow but I didn't say it because it wasn't included in the program. We only said those words to each other that the officiant of our wedding imitated.

And several times I was stunned because of the stain on the collar of Jacob's clothes. red What is that?

"You may now kiss the bride..."

Here it is. Here it is. I closed my eyes but Jacob's lips touched my cheek.

Why not on the lips?
