Chapter 93: IT'S OBVIOUS
The air is heavy with the heaviness of Frank's words, like a dark cloak hanging over us. Every syllable emanating from his lips is imbued with a twisted darkness, and I can feel that darkness looming over me, enveloping me in its icy, suffocating embrace.
"Isn't it obvious? It's just how it sounds," his voice is a sibilant whisper that chills the blood in my veins. "There were some cubs that weren't born with the right characteristics to be warriors, so I got rid of the ones that weren't any good." Each word is like a drop of poison slowly dripping into my mind, corroding my thoughts with its corrosive malevolence.
"Oh, but don't suffer for them, believe me, I did it as fast as I could so those puppies wouldn't even know what was going on," Frank continues, his voice infused with ruthless cynicism. "The unfit ones didn't even last a day at birth." His confession is a direct blow to my heart, leaving me stunned by the brutality of his actions.
Frank's eyes reflect the madness within him, flashes of raving that dance in their depths like dancing flames in the dark. As he speaks, he moves closer to me, his ominous presence flooding the space between us with a suffocating intensity. By this point, he is close enough to feel his nauseating breath again, a mixture of rot and depravity that makes me involuntarily recoil.
"As time went on and the selectees began to grow, they went through .... let's say rigorous training, where only the best survived - they were the best warriors!" Frank's voice booms in the room, laden with distorted pride and bitterness. "And what did Genrant do with them, with all my effort! He murdered them like they were nothing!" Pain and anger intertwine in his voice, creating a discordant symphony that reverberates off the walls, punctuating each silence with the cruelty of his tale.
"You care about your effort when you just confessed to doing an extermination just because?" my voice trembles slightly, but I try to keep my composure, even though every fiber of my being screams to escape this nightmare. But Frank doesn't seem to like what I say, and immediately brings the gun close to my head.
I can feel the smell of gunpowder, heavy and pungent, along with the heat of the metal against my skin, which is still warm from the shot. The situation becomes increasingly tense, like a rope about to snap, and I can feel the pressure in the air, dense and oppressive, like a storm about to break.
"Watch your words, they were my puppies! I was their alpha, they belonged to me! I had the right to do with them what I wanted!" Frank's screams echo in the room, full of fury and possession, like a predator's roar in the dark, ready to tear his prey apart.
"But that doesn't matter now, because I can pay him back in the same coin," Frank whispers with a sinister smile that curves his lips into a macabre grimace. The darkness emanating from his expression envelops me like an icy shadow, and the mention of 'the same coin' fills me with a visceral dread that creeps up my spine. What does he mean by that? What kind of twisted revenge is he plotting?
"I'm going to snatch Genrant from his own puppy so he can see what it feels like," he continues, his voice full of venom and vengeance, like a chant of doom slithering between the dark corners of the room. Each word is like a sharp dagger slicing the air with merciless ferocity, flooding the space with an aura of malevolence that chills the blood in my veins.
"Well that will be difficult, because Genrant doesn't have any pups," I reply, struggling to remain calm despite the terror that grips me. My words sound weak in comparison to the storm raging inside me, but I refuse to let my fear seep into my voice. However, the expression of triumph on Frank's face does not waver, and his burning gaze burns with an intensity that makes me take a step back, freezing my thoughts in a state of pure panic.
My words are like a fragile barrier standing between us, but the certainty in my heart is unshakable: Genrant has no puppy. But the confidence in my voice wavers under Frank's defiant gaze, and I can feel the weight of his words like a dark cloak threatening to envelop me completely.
"Haven't you? I think you're wrong. Oh, I see, you just don't know it yet," Frank murmurs with a tone of cruel mockery, slowly approaching me like a predator stalking its prey. His gaze pierces mine with an intensity that makes me feel as if I am naked before him, exposed and vulnerable to his dark designs. The air seems to thicken around me, charged with a palpable tension that makes me feel as if I am on the edge of a bottomless abyss.
"You know, spending so much time helping with the birth and gestation control of the pups helped me develop my sense of smell better compared to any other wolf. Just by smelling," Frank pauses, his gaze becoming even more penetrating, as if he can see right through me. "I can smell Genrant's scent on you, rather, inside you. Congratulations, human! You are expecting a puppy from the man who destroyed my life," Frank declares with a macabre tone, filling me with terror and despair.
Frank's revelation hits me like a bolt of lightning, leaving me breathless and my heart pounding wildly in my chest. Pregnant with Genrant? The words reverberate in my mind like an ominous echo, enveloping me in a haze of disbelief and terror. Everything suddenly makes sense: the morning dizziness, the unexplained increase in appetite, the feeling of constant fatigue that has plagued me lately. But I never imagined that the cause of it all could be something so overwhelming.
The shock paralyzes me, and I feel reality crumbling around me. I can't help but think about the implications of this revelation, what it would mean for me, for Genrant, for the uncertain future that looms ahead of us.
Frank watches my reaction with a mixture of satisfaction and malice in his eyes, as if he enjoys seeing me caught in his twisted web of manipulation and cruelty. His smile widens, twisting into a cruel grimace that makes me shiver in terror.
"What is it, human, has my little revelation left you speechless?" he whispers, his voice laden with mockery and contempt.
