Chapter 9

Lila sat in class, scrolling through pictures of Tanya for her classmates to see.

"Wow, Lila. Your sister is so cute and looks innocent." A girl named Ivy said.

"I know right?" Lila chuckled, proudly.

A student suddenly rushed into the class, calling out Lila.

"Lila! Lila! Your sister. Lucia and her friends are beating her up at the hallway."

"What?" Lila said, as she unknowingly threw her phone away rushing out of the class.

Rage filled Lila as she sighted Lucia, 'Lucia was so done for.' She thought inwardly charging towards Lucia.

She grabbed Lucia's hair first and then pushed her to the ground, kicking and hitting her terribly.

Lucia's screams echoed, but Lila was unrelenting and nobody was ready to stop them.

Soon, a broad voice was heard, it was Principal Mark.

He frowned sighting the incident, "You two, to my office now!"

It was then Lila pulled away from Lucia, satisfied with the good beaten she had given her.

She smoothened her school uniform and then glanced at Lily who was also looking at the scene.

She bit her lips slightly before making her way towards the principal's office.

Lucia stood up, looking disheveled. Her face had a huge scowl as she frantically made her way to the principal's office.

Immediately Lila got in, Lucia followed.

"Couldn't atleast one of you knock?" Principal asked the both of them.

"I know right. She's so mannerless." Lila said, referring to Lucia who looked surprised.

"Are you okay? What are you even saying." Lucia asked.

"That's not the reason why you're here young ladies. Why you're here, is that you both have to tell me what was happening at the hallway?" Principal Mark asked, staring at them through his glasses.

Before they could answer, a guy barged into the office. Hands tucked into pocket, uniform, un-stalked in. He was Evan, principal Mark's son.

"Hey dad, what's going on here?" He said, as he walked to his father's desk, sitting on the table and staring at both ladies.

"Don't you even have manners?" Principal Mark asked, glaring at his son who scoffed.

"Whatever. And who are these ugly pigs in your office?"

"Who ? me?" Lucia asked glaring hard at him.

"Both of you." Evan said.

Lila frowned, as she glared at Evan for some time.

"Principal we're here because of an issue. I won't appreciate your son insulting me." Lila said, flipping her hair.

"You deserve it, Ugly dumpling." Evan said, with a short laugh.

"I swear, if I wasn't here for an offence, I would have strangled you alive" Lila said.

"You know, you actually act tough but you're still childish, but I'll actually like to see you try. So what's your offence?" Evan asked.

"That should be my question to ask, Evan. Now you two why were you fighting at the hallway." Principal Mark asked.

"Sir, this bi*ch here, just saw me and pounced on me for no reason." Lucia said, immediately.

"Oh, because I'm an animal or what? Sir, she beat up my sister for reasons i don't know, so I only helped by retaliating." Lila explained.

"Lila, I'll let this slide, but next time I won't take it lightly." Principal Mark said, not pressing the matter without listening to further explorations.and Lila creased her brows.

"Me? Wait! What? Just like that, you didn't even do anything about it." Lila half yelled and Principal Mark adjusted his spectacles.

"Do you perhaps want to receive punishment, alone?"

"Really? I'm sure this is all became of the influence of her parent or whatever. I swear next time, since you can't take actions, I'll do it on my own! Bi*ch." Lila sneered at Lucia before angrily walking out of the office.

Evan also ran out following Lila.

"Hey, hey!" He called after her.

"What is it?" Lila asked, still fuming.

"Don't think it too much. You dropped your bracelet, I think it fell from your skirt or some" He said.

Lila snatched it from him, "Give me that, and stay away from me!" Lila said, before walking off.

"I didn't plan on getting close to an Ugly dumpling like you!" Evan yelled after her before turning around, to see Tyler.

"Hey man, I've been looking for you, every where." Tyler said.

"I was in my father's office. What do you need me for?" Evan asked.

"Just come with me, I'll tell you." He said, dragging his hands away.

Tanya took a deep breath, steading herself as she jumped out the window. It was time to prove to Josie, she wasn't as weak.

Lila's gaze turned curious as she saw Tanya sneaking out of the house, 'Where's she going. It's already past nine ?' She wondered.

Sleepy Lily soon rubbed her eyes and yawned lightly, as she got up on the bed facing Lila who was staring out the window.

"Lila is everything okay?" Lily asked sleepily.

Lila turned to her, "Yes Lily. Go back to sleep, everything's okay."

She then walked up to Lily and covered her with the duvet.

"I Just hope, whatever Tanya's

doing is safe." She muttered and then glanced at sleeping Lily as a tear slipped down her eyes.

She knew Tanya has been doing her best to take care of them, since when she became 13, yeah that was when they lost their mother and their father left without a trace. Without Tanya, only God knew what would had happened to them, by now. But why was she sneaking out in the night? Her mind wondered again.
