Chapter 152 Tasting Death
Confusion was a word too small to describe how Chris was feeling. His head was spinning and his heart was racing, how was that even possible?
He was not a Knowles? How? All his life he had lived with them as their son, he had loved him as his father and he had grown up in wealth and all thanks to him but now he had found out that he was not the true son of Michael Knowles?
To make matters worse, he had not gotten the chance to delete the message before his father would come out of the bathroom and even if he did, it was a thing that was very possible for his father to retrieve it or request it again from the person that had sent it to him.
But something else made him feel confused. Why did his father even do a DNA test in the first place? Did he not believe that he was in son from the start?
Who did he not trust? Him or his mother? Who had he been doubting from the start? What pushed him to take such a step from the start?
He was lost in confusion. Just then, he heard a voice call out to him from the hall way and he turned around, still trying to gather his own thoughts, only to see Jessica walking up to him.
"Chris! This is absurd!" She had finally recollected herself and she was so focused on convincing him to see the truth.
Chris groaned softly, letting his eyes roll frantically. "Not now Jessica, I really am not in the mood to have this discussion with you again."
She noticed the look of distress on his face and her brows creased in curiosity. Lowering her voice, she questioned him, "what happened to you? Did Cara say anything to you?"
"Cara?" His brow arched. Oh right! He had a date with her the next day. Shaking his head, he let out a soft sigh. "Not her, it's just... It's none of your business, why do you care? You're not my wife anymore."
Jessica's teeth clenched. Taking a breath had never felt any more heavier than it did that moment. "I am still your wife Chris, you have no right to treat me this way. I don't understand why you so adamantly insist on doing something so stupid even though I keep on trying to let you see the truth."
"Just stop now before I get any more angrier than I already am. Do you hear me? Just stop right now or else--"
"Or else what?!" She cut him off. Her voice had grown louder and her hands clenched in anger. "What will you do to me Chris? First you say you want to divorce me and like that isn't crazy enough, you say you want to take my son from me?" A scoffed laugh left her mouth.
Her arms crossed underneath her breast, "Cara will never love you back and you are so blind to see that, she will never accept you to be the man in her life, not when she has a trillionaire by her side now who desperately wants to marry her.
"You are nothing, no one, nobody! And yet you keep on trying to convince her into choosing a broke as freak like--"
Firm hands suddenly gripped her by the throat and pinned her to the wall. A skull cracking excruciating pain struck her at the back of her head and she groaned.
At attempt to breathe goes futile as his hands tightened around her throat. She couldn't even cough and her eyes stung from the tears that welled up in them.
Clawing at Chris' hands, she tried to set herself free.
Chris' face turned dark and grim with hatred, anger and something monstrously dangerous. "Do you think I don't know what I am? Do you think I don't know that I am a nobody?! That I am useless?! Huh?! Do you think I have to wait for you to tell me before I realize it?! You disgusting btch!"
His other hand struck her face and he finally released the other from her throat.
Jessica struck the ground with a loud thud and a groan escaped her mouth. Several coughs drew from her mouth and she gasped desperately for her.
Holding on to her throat, she tried to lessen the pain she was feeling by messaging it but her mind was in shambles and her heart was racing beyond control.
Chris had always been abusive, but she could always predict it. Now that he suddenly went wild, she didn't even know why he had done that. She could tell from when she saw him standing in the hall way looking so distressed and confused.
But fear was the greater emotion she was feeling at the moment, her body had somehow dragged itself backwards away from him as he took dangerous steps towards her.
"Don't you ever... I repeat myself, don't you ever try to talk back at me like that. Pack your things and get out of this house as soon as you sign those divorce papers! I don't want you inside my house anymore... I don't want you in my life! I never want to see your disgusting face ever again!"
Without any more words, he walked out on her, leaving her wide eyed in shock and pain.
She kept coughing, not knowing how to handle the situation. She could not stop shaking from the fact that she had felt death so near to her. Almost as if she felt its icy breath trail down her neck.
Chris barged out of the house, fuming like an angry bull. His legs moved faster than he could even imagine and his mind was empty.
He felt like he was running crazy, he could have killed her if he did not have better self control. She did nothing wrong, she was just a greedy woman.
A figure suddenly stepped in front of him and he stopped, almost bumping into the man. "What the f..." He muttered softly.
A sinister smile appeared on the strangers face as he looked up at Chris' face. "Hello there, let me tell you a little something about Jessica... Your beloved wife."
