Chapter 542

Jessica slammed her paws against the cage. Fortunately, the cage was specially made and could easily withstand Jessica's strikes.

The animal trainer rushed to calm her down.

The soothing seemed to work, and Jessica quickly settled down and began licking her fur again.

Liam immediately became interested in the rabbit balloon.

He took the balloon from the bodyguard's hand, looked at it from different angles, then brought it close to smell it. He almost caught that pungent odor again.

The smell was similar to the powder he had picked up from the ground earlier.

This result made it hard for Liam not to connect the two. His eyes flickered as he looked at the bodyguard who had brought in the balloon. "Why did you bring this in?"

"Mr. Russell told me to," the bodyguard answered immediately, as if he had known this question would come. "He said the balloon smelled off and suspected it might be related to the tiger's frenzy."

Hearing this, Liam nodded and had someone bag the balloon as well, then turned back to the circus owner.

"I'll inform the police about this incident. My people will assist with the investigation. If you get any information about the clown, please notify us immediately." As he spoke, he pulled out a business card from his inner pocket and handed it to the circus owner.

Finally, Liam pointed at the animal trainer. "You need to go to the hospital right away. As for Jessica, I'll send someone to examine her. Please take care of your injuries. I'll contact you later to understand the situation."

Although the circus people knew that Liam and his group weren't police officers and didn't even belong to any government department, they were well aware of what kind of power these people had.

Therefore, when faced with Liam's instructions, they could only nod. Besides nodding, they couldn't think of any other option.

"Good. Once everything is resolved, if it's due to our side, we'll compensate you." Liam nodded slightly and smiled faintly at their cooperation.

He didn't want to think this way, but having just witnessed Jessica's reaction when the bodyguard with the balloon approached, he couldn't help but suspect that the clown had been targeting Alice from the start.

However, it would be better if all this was just a coincidence. If not, they would need to thoroughly investigate who was behind this.

At this thought, his eyes darkened, and his heart sank inch by inch.

Alice and the others had already returned to the villa.

As for what happened afterward, everyone only had a vague understanding. Although they knew that the tiger named Jessica had gone crazy, they had no idea about the specific details of what followed.

"This is all thanks to Oliver." Arabella started saying this again.

Ever since everyone left the inner arena, Arabella had been expressing her gratitude.

Oliver smiled, and when he met Molly's examining gaze, he smiled even more proudly.

Molly hadn't wanted to ask, but in the end, she couldn't hold back.

While everyone was watching TV, she went to the large living room where Oliver was temporarily staying.

He was changing his bandages at the moment.

The cast on his leg had already been removed, and he was now in the recovery phase, but the wound on his abdomen still needed daily medication.

When Molly came in, Oliver was sitting up straight, biting the hem of his shirt with his mouth, his eyes focused on the wound on his abdomen.

He had a well-proportioned figure and had abs before his injury.

But now, probably due to his long recovery period, his abs weren't as defined anymore, and there was a bit of extra flesh on his sides.

"Oliver." After watching for a while, Molly finally spoke.

Hearing Molly's voice, Oliver immediately pulled down his shirt, swallowed, and looked a bit embarrassed. "Molly."

He rubbed his face, his ear tips turning red. "What are you doing here?"

Molly looked at him, not understanding why he was embarrassed. "I'm a bit curious. How did you know something was wrong with that tiger?"

"Oh, that." Oliver licked his lips and ran his hand through his hair. "I have a pet tiger. I've raised it for over twenty years."

This was the first time Molly had heard this information. Her eyes widened instantly. "You have a tiger?"

Her tone carried surprise and admiration.

Hearing this, Oliver unconsciously lifted his head, a smile curling at the corners of his mouth. "Yeah, it's already twenty-one years old. Pretty old."

Now, Molly completely forgot that she had only come to ask one question.

She walked over in a few steps, her eyes sparkling. "What does it look like? Male or female? What's its name?"

Seeing Molly so interested, Oliver's eyes immediately lit up. "You like it? Want to raise one? I'll give you one."

Molly paused, waving her hand. "How could I raise one? Lumaria..."

"Raise it in Novaria." Oliver smiled, grabbing Molly's hand and starting to make plans. "You can raise anything in Novaria. No permits needed. The regulations are very loose. I have a house there. You can keep it there."

Even though he made it sound so good, Molly still refused. "I don't think so."

She pressed her lips together. The hand Oliver was holding twitched slightly as she tried to pull it back, but she couldn't move it at all.

"Let go." Having no choice, Molly had to ask.

But Oliver held on and wouldn't let go. "You just saw that I was applying medicine."

It was a random statement. Molly didn't understand and looked over with a frown. "What does that have to do with you holding my hand?"

She pouted, cursing Oliver in her heart as a smooth-talking playboy.

Oliver's face was no longer red. He pulled Molly's hand toward his abdomen.

His action startled Molly. She quickly tried to pull her hand back, scolding him: "Oliver, what are you doing! You're injured and still not behaving!"

At these words, Oliver looked aggrieved.

He pouted, his voice pitiful. "What are you talking about? I just wanted you to help me apply the medicine."

He held her hand and placed it on his warm abdomen.

Seeing that this was what he meant, Molly's face immediately turned red. She pressed her lips together but remained stubborn. "Can't you apply the medicine yourself?"

She remembered that Oliver had refused several maids' offers to help apply medicine, insisting on doing it himself.

"How could they be the same as you?" Oliver could tell what Molly was thinking. He tilted his head, sounding even more innocent.

This phrase sounded familiar.

Molly frowned and instantly thought of all those women who used to surround Oliver. Feeling dejected and angry, she said, "Of course I'm different from them."

Hearing something off in her tone, Oliver immediately became alert. "What's wrong?"

Molly snorted coldly, pulled her hand away, and said in a cold tone, "I'm not like them, ready to die for you."

Hearing this suddenly, Oliver was completely confused. Wasn't he talking about those maids? How did she jump to those women?
