Chapter 33

Chapter 33
Raven’s POV

I didn’t remember falling asleep, but I do recall the events that led up to my exhausted state.

A small smile reached my eyes when I felt the warmth of Rhyland’s body heated my entire back and the weight of his arm around me was enough to make me feel secure.

“Good morning sweetheart, did you sleep okay?” His rustled voice asked from behind me and I turned in his arms to face him.

“That was the best sleep I’ve had in a while.” I admitted and my eyes fell to the foot of the bed where the large window was placed. The sun was rising above the sea and the bright orange beams shined directly in on us.

“This is beautiful..” I mumble and I felt his thumb come up and brush against my side.

“Very..” He answered but when I looked his way he wasn’t looking at the view, he was looking directly at me.

The beams of light made his eyes almost look a very clear purple and I couldn’t stop myself from staring at them like they were heaven sent.

“As much as I’d love to stay here forever, I think it’s time to get back and help.” I said and he left out a long sigh as he fell onto his back, exaggerating.

He pushed off the bed with a laugh and leaned over, the bed denting in to his weight.

“I’m kidding, let’s go rebuilt yourself kingdom my lady.” He gave me a quick peck on the lips before I’m going into a bow and I let out a laugh.

“You mean, our kingdom?”

He stilled at my words and his eyes seemed to soften completely. I wanted to ask him what was the matter? But I began to get really self conscious.

What if he wasn’t ready for that one yet? What if I pushed that on him too fast?

“Helping can wait a little while longer.” He finally spoke before crashing his lips against mine hungrily.

“No, not there. Y- wait go back a little further, alright... alright.. perfect!”

Cassius directed two people that were trying to put a sign up on a newly built store. The bright yellow sign seemed to glow and the shop matched along with a gorgeous red door.

I smiled, knowing my parents would be ecstatic at the colors. Cassius and I are trying our best to keep their memories alive through the brightly colored streets, and gorgeous flowing flags.

“Well, aren’t you two a day late. I could’ve used your- wait a damn minute. What were you two doing that took an entire day.” He narrowed his eyes at us and my face immediately turned a blush shot red color.

“You realize that one day your little sister is going to grow up whether you want her to or not.” Rhyland said and Cassius looked at him before dropping his eyes to the ground with a defeated look.

“I know, I just hoped she’d stay little for a while longer. But she’s the ruler of an entire kingdom now.. Before long she’s not going to need me around protect her or call for me when she gets scared. She’ll have you for that.”

He sent Rhyland a small smile and patted his shoulder, but I shook my head.

“No, I’ll always need my big brother. No matter what changes and what happens.. I’ll always need you.”

His strong arms yank me into a hug and I reciprocate it, slinging my arms around him too.

“Now, enough of this lovey stuff. Check out this new store that the villagers had the idea of creating.” He said as he pulled back, his finger pointed out a completely neatural colored store with a royal blue door frame and flag.

My eyebrows furrowed as we walked up to it and opened the door. I felt Rhyland directly behind me as we stepped into the shop and I felt my eyes almost pop out of my skull.

Everything from books to stones and journals.. all about BlueBloods. Stones with riveting blue tones sparkled as they hung on a post, and were made into necklaces.

But my heart completely stopped when I saw the two portraits hanging on the wall.

I walked up to the pictures and dragged my fingers slowly against it. My mother’s skin seems to glow and my father’s eyes were just as soft as I recalled.

“The villagers loved our parents, so to contribute to them along with the island itself they created this entire shop for young kids or anyone willing to learn about Bluebloods. Instead of listening to their elders about how horrid they are, they now have a place to learn.”

As my brother spoke, a single tear rolled down my cheek.

“They did all of this... for our parents?” I asked as I touched one of the necklaces with my fingertips.

“No, this did this for all of you. Blue bloods need a place to be able to live without fear of being harmed. Word is spreading fast that this place I-,” He was cut off by the sound of footsteps.

“Your Majesty!” A voice shouted and we all turn towards a man running at us. When he finally made it he stopped in his tracks and was hunched over, breathing heavily.

“What is it?” Cassius asked and he instantly fell down into a bow.

“I apologize for my lack of manners, your majesty.” He said in a low bow and I seen something in Rhyland’s face turn up into a snarl. Almost as if he didn’t approve of how low his bow was until he shook it off.

“No need for that. I am a person just as you are.” I said as I lifted him up with my hand.

“Now, what is it you needed to say?” I spoke and his eyes widened like he had forgotten about that completely.

“Oh- uh yes sorry. There is a boat in the docks and the passengers are asking for you.”

I looked back at Cassius and Rhyland who both seemed ready for any outcome. I nodded towards the man.

“Alright, let’s see what they want.”
