Chapter 107: Chapter 107

I gulped at his growl and shifted uncomfortably. Kieran noticed.

"We'd deal with everything soon, Klaus," he said, waving his brother away. "Just hold on."

The brother looked like he wanted to say more, but he just hugged and walked away instead.

"Who is it?" Kieran asked, pulling my eyes from the once-again stomping Klaus.

"I have no idea-"

"Listen, Daisy," he said, placing a hand on my shoulder and persuading me into looking at him squarely.

"Just last week, my pack was raided. Women and children, killed. Though we're rogues, we've been quiet recently, so it is not us who incited this. Plus, the same has happened in many other legal packs. Someone out there is causing chaos in our world, and Alpha Aiden's presence on that throne is being threatened everyday. So, please, if you have a name...tell me. Any name at all.”

I was in shock. I hadn't realized so many things were happening like that. I mean, I knew there were a couple of issues going on at the time, but I didn't think it was this bad.

And Alpha Aiden was bearing the brunt of it?

I swallowed. "I...well."

"Well?" Kieran's face held eagerness.

"Well...Leon."

"Leon?"

"Leon is the one who kidnapped me. And he's in cahoots with my brother."

"Aaren is still alive?" Kieran sounded extremely vexed, and I saw the gold flecks appear in his eyes. "That insolent man!"

"Y-yes."

"I can't believe it. How dare he?!"

As he spoke, he slammed his fist into the ground, and I flinched when I saw a crack.

Silence engulfed us for a moment, and I noted that Klaus wasn't in the building at the time. He'd probably stepped out.

“Well then,” Kieran sighed, causing me to look up. "I'm sorry you have to see me like this, Daisy. But you have to understand: I just lost many of my pack members."

"It's okay sir."

He gave me a small smile. "Now...you say Leon kidnapped you? Was it to give you to your brother? Because that's a very foolish move, if I'm being honest."

I shook my head. "No, no. It wasn't to give me to my brother. It was-"

An image of Leon looking lustfully at me appeared in my head, and the words got stuck in my throat.

Kieran looked at me, waiting patiently. "It was...?"

"It was nothing." I looked down, suddenly feeling exposed. He'd touched me, and insulted me. He’d...

I felt the urge to vomit.

"What happened, Daisy?"

Kieran's warm hand on my shoulder brought me back to my senses, and I tried to smile at him. I couldn't tell him that. But I could tell him about-

"Leon plans to overthrow the Alpha."

For a moment, silence engulfed us again.

"Really now?" A scoff came from behind me once more. Klaus had a cigarette in his hand. "Isn't that convenient?” "Shut up." Kieran turned back to me, and his eyes held confusion, or more specifically, shock.

"You say Leon wants to overthrow Alpha Aiden?"

I nodded. "He told me he was tired of the Alpha's rule-"

“Aren't we all?” Klaus interjected.

"Shut the fuck up, Klaus. This is important!”

"Of course it's important!" Klaus yelled back. "People are beginning to see that that stupid Alpha isn't worth our fear!"

"Shut-" Kieran sighed. "Keep going, Daisy."

I blinked. "He and my brother plan to bring many people together for that. They've contacted people...I don't have all the names, but-" I froze, looking at Klaus.

“She finally figured it out,” he said, folding his arms and staring me down with a smirk.

"You joined them, didn't you?"

We both looked at Kieran, who had a disappointed look on his face.

"Of course I joined them!" Klaus looked annoyed. "We finally have a chance to destroy that fool once and for all, and you think I wouldn't-"

"You're not even my major problem." The rogue leader's expression was now withdrawn. "I cannot believe that Leon, who is the Beta of his pack, would do such a terrible thing. He violated the Loyalty code!"

"Please, brother. That loyalty ended the moment that foolish Alpha decided to act out.”

"Oh, I'm coming back to you." Kieran had a death glare in his eyes as he looked at his brother. "We have a lot to talk about. And so help me Luna, if I don't... Daisy, would you like to take a nap?”

I didn't, but I understood that he wanted me to be resting while he dealt with his sibling, so I nodded and tried to make myself comfortable.

They were quiet for a while, but soon I heard Kieran's voice.

"I can't believe you'd join those fools against Aiden!" he hissed.

"Oh please, brother." Klaus had an irritated tone. "You knew it was bound to happen. It was only a matter of time before a group of enlightened individuals would come together to fight against an oppressor. And I'm quite surprised that you haven't joined us too. Alpha Aiden, multiple times, has downplayed your authority and strength. If anything, you should be one of the pioneers-"

“Your foolishness speaks louder than your actual words.”

There was dead silence for a second.

“What?!” Klaus' loud whisper of disbelief reached my ears. “How dare you say that to me?!"

"Do

you really think I would join your group of blind individuals thinking that they can see the light?” Kieran laughed scornfully.

"What do you know about Aiden, huh? Tell me?"

"What do I know? What do I know? Brother, it is common knowledge that that Lycan is power hungry and kills at will! Everyone is beneath him, and he holds only himself in high regard! We're all insects under his feet! What else is there to know? I-!"

There was a scuffle, and I heard growling.

"Let go of my collar!" Klaus suddenly yelled.

"You have no idea why Aiden is like that, Klaus.” Kieran sounded disappointed.

"Yes, he's not perfect, and even I wish he'd tone it down a notch many times, but I know what led him to be that way. I know the backstory. I would never cross him, if I could help it. You and your fellow idiots, on the other hand, are too narrow-minded to see that he would kill anyone who stands in his way before they have the chance to even lay a finger on him. Especially that Leon.”

His voice took on a deadly tone. "I can't believe he'd stab his leader in the back. I'd have to pay him a visit again before he can go on with his plans."

"Don't do that."

"Why not?"

"Leon is..." Klaus sighed. "Let go of my collar, Kieran."

I heard a shuffling sound.

"Thanks. Ack. My throat feels devoid of air."

"Why not?" Kieran's tone was serious.

"You're not going alone to his place. I...I haven't agreed to their terms and conditions yet, so I'm not officially part of the group. And...you seem to have more knowledge about why Alpha Aiden is that way, and you've also stressed the importance of loyalty...so it is only fit that I help you out."

"Is that all?"

Klaus was quiet for a moment. “And you're my brother. We either fight side by side or not fight at all.”

I didn't see it, but I heard the smile in Kieran's voice as he spoke. “That's the Klaus I know.”

Aw.

I fell asleep soon after hearing that.

The next day I was woken up by a light tapping and opened my eyes to a smiling Kieran.

"Oh, good morning.”

“Good morning, Daisy. Here,” he handed me a bowl of food. "Thought you might be hungry.”

I devoured the food in record time and was slightly embarrassed when I realized he'd been watching me the whole

time.
