Chapter 120: I’m Searching 4 U

It’s dark and quiet. Jack didn’t know what next to do. He was all alone in the middle of nowhere. He lay on the sand and uses the rock to support his head. There’s nothing he could have done to stop Osai from disappearing with Jasmine. He too was helpless as he was pinned to the ground.

However, he didn’t see it that way, instead, he blames himself. Just a while ago he didn’t succeed in getting Essie to reveal the whereabouts of Osai and possibly where he has taken his wife.

Jack hissed. He started gazing into the pink sky that flashes continuous dark lightning. He hissed once more rolling on his side as he went deep into his regrettable state.

“I should have stopped him.”

One thing Jack will never stop doing is blaming himself for everything that has gone wrong when it comes to Jasmine. As her husband, he strongly believes he should keep her safe at all costs. If Werewolf Overlord brought Osai back, then Osai will stop at nothing to earn his stay in the land of the dead.

Osai’s mission is to make a miserable hell for Jack and Jasmine. There’s no getting out. Osai won’t let them. He knew the couple must be planning on getting out from the land of the dead and this meant game over for Werewolf Overlord. The best way Osai could stop this from happening is to separate the couple. He’s certain that even if Jack finds the way out, he will never leave without Jasmine.

Jack was lost in his regrettable state. He should have let the black crystal in him obliterate Osai. But he didn’t because he flung a few paces away from Osai which would be will be hard to achieve except he’s willing to see Jasmine get hurt as well.

“Jasmine… be safe wherever you are,” he muttered below his breath. “I will find you, I promise.”

Sleep isn’t coming. He won’t even dare to sleep in this state. His minds are restless and so is his body. With Jasmine apart from him, there’s no peace in him. Lying on the floor and supporting his head with a rock isn’t help him to think about what next to do. He made a loud hiss and sprang to his feet.

Narrowing his eyes around and fixing his gaze, he didn’t know whether to go right or left. To tell navigation isn’t his kind of thing. “Should I go back to Azulu and his people and ask for their help?” he mumbled.

His thought wasn’t certain of what to do. Even if he has to go back, he’s lost and not sure what way leads to the village. Things haven’t gone bad for him like this in his entire life. The situation he found himself in is quite complex. However, Jack isn’t a quitter. He’s a fighter and a born leader.

He took a deep breath, tilted back on his heels, and decided to take right.

As he continued his lonely journey he finally came to a halt on a narrow path -- shrubs on the left and almond trees on the right. Focusing his gaze on the path ahead, he could see a mud house. The mud house is 24-by-38-foot with a mud terrace as the roof. There are flame torches affixed to the walls of the mud house making the mud house visible.

Jack took a deep breath and decided to follow the path. He wasn’t sure of what he would unveil ahead of him. The mud house looks creepy with weird sketches of scorpions, alligators, and an elephant with two trunks.

“Strange place,” Jack mumbled. Fixing his gaze on the mud house he wondered what could live in here.

“Hello… is anyone home?” he yelled out. He didn’t want to go into the mud house without knowing what was in there. The best he could do is to draw whatever that’s in there out.

“Hello…” he yelled louder than before. “Is anyone home?”

He stood six feet away from the mud house in a striking position. The strangest place he has ever visited isn’t Azul’s castle filled with demons. No. The strangest place for him is the land of the dead. Even though he has the power to protect himself and fight his opponent in the land of the dead, he didn’t have to charge into a fight blindly.

“Hello! Is someone…”

Before Jack could finish, his words were pushed back to his dry throat. “You are disturbing my sleep!” yelled a voice from the inside. The voice was that of a female and was suddenly replaced with a pounding sound on the wooden door of the mud house.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to. I was…” The creaking sound of the wooden door interrupted Jack as he focuses his gaze.

From the door walked out a lady dressed in a flowing red gown. Her lava-red hair crashed over her shoulders. In her right hand was a golden staff and in her left was a flaming torch. She glanced around as she makes her way to Jack. “You are?”

Jack was spellbound on seeing her. He never expected someone usual to walk out through the wooden door. He was expecting something strange and weird. From his best guest, the lady seems to be in her late twenties. She wasn’t transparent in her appearance but looks so real. Jack’s mind is far gone that he didn’t hear the lady’s question. He has been busy wondering about and admiring her shapely figure and her glossy-looking skin.

It wasn’t hard for the lady to realize that Jack didn’t hear her question. She was standing right before him but seemed like she looks invisible to him. Jack’s mind was far. She rolled her eyes and sighed loudly. “Who are you and why are you here?” she yelled at Jack.
