Chapter 17: 17
"Thank you, Linda, you were very efficient," Iah said to the woman and then walked away with the brunette to more residences, to avoid being seen. If they already knew of his existence, the worst he had to do was, stay in the same place and draw attention to himself.
As far as his family was concerned, that was not convenient.
He was just having fun, but he didn't want to draw attention to himself.
"Who are you?" asked Lucas, trying to sound innocent, as if he had never seen him before.
He didn't want to get in trouble with people he didn't know, and even more so if it involved his friend. It hadn't been with intention that he said about knowing of her existence.
"I think you know who I am," the gray-haired one smiled half-sideways and the brunette felt like her legs were going to give out at any moment if he kept looking at her that way.
He wondered to himself, how Amy had put up with that man for more than a minute straight.
"And what do you want from me, knowing your name isn't relevant," he said defensively, trying unsuccessfully to shake off the emotions he was having for him.
Iah smiled slyly, "I never told you I had you figured out by knowing my name," he said and Luke looked just like a piece of paper; white and lifeless. The older man smiled at ease at what he was provoking in people, but he still wasn't getting what he wanted, "But relax, that I'm not looking for you," he clarified and that didn't improve his state at all. He knew what he was talking about and couldn't stand the tension.
Why did he feel watched all of a sudden?
He was supposed to meet his friend on the way out, so clearly he was going to end up suspecting that something was wrong and if he saw them both he would freak out.
She would probably think that he was betraying her, but she wouldn't understand why that man was looking for her in the first place if they had only seen each other for less than twenty minutes at that party.
For saving her life?
Just at that moment, Amy came out of the university, looking for her friend. They had arranged to go to the library to study for two hours, before she had to go to the hospital again to take care of her grandfather.
Being watched over gave her more security to study in peace, however, it meant expenses.
Lucas ran to her to get her out of sight before Iah saw her.
Confused Amy let herself go, as she was in no mood to defend herself and more so when her best friend was acting strange. He had a worried look on his face, as if someone was going to chase him to do something to him.
"Where are you taking me, I have to study."
"We need to talk, it's urgent."
"With you everything is urgent," she rolled her eyes.
"This if extremely urgent and it involves you," he gave her a stern sideways glance and she frowned.
She didn't remember doing anything wrong in those weeks, besides what she had to deal with with the crazy psychopaths, but it had become an excluded issue after her grandfather had crashed trying to look for her.
"Does it have to do with the crazy psychopaths?"
"Yes and with someone else who...," she fell silent and remembered how she had surrounded him, not caring if anyone saw the two of them in that state that could be misinterpreted, "I'd better tell you about it as we walk away, I can't say it out loud."
Amy didn't know what he was talking about, but she nodded.
What neither of them knew was that Iah had seen the moment when he took a woman quickly, to lead her away from the campus entrance.
Surely it was her.
He licked his lips as a sign of desire and set off on the motorcycle with the girl behind him, leaving a rumble around him that drew the attention of those nearby by the roar of the engine.
She had done so much more for other people and they hadn't ended up looking for her.
He looked on his cell phone for the picture the girl had sent him, to show him. I'm looking for her," he pointed to Amy in the photo and Lucas swallowed discreetly.
"How would I know who she is, her back is turned," he said defensively and Iah rolled her eyes.
He reached for another picture, where the screenshot of the conversation after the picture showed, where he said her name and then said he knew her, but he couldn't reveal her identity.
"Isn't this your name," he asked, pointing and the brunet felt surrounded. He had the evidence of what he had said and would end up getting the information out of her. He looked for another screenshot, where his profile was on the platform, in case he came to try to lie to her again, "Unless there are two like you at the university, I imagine it's you," the older man folded his arms, "Why are you hiding it?"
Lucas passed saliva and licked his lips, "She asked me to, she doesn't want the crazy psychos to know who she is."
The man frowned, "The crazy psychos?"
"Yeah, that's what we call the group you saw the picture of. Most of them are somewhat...,"
"Crazy?" she finished for him.
"Yeah, they tend to sabotage each other or some of them think they're some kind of queens," he took the hundred, "I don't want Amy to have that done to her," he said, but immediately covered his mouth. His name had inadvertently come up and Iah looked at him curiously.
"So her name is Amy. Cute name."
"No, don't go near her," the brunet warned, but the older man immediately changed his countenance to a stern one. He moved dangerously close to Lucas, forcing him to back away and cornered him into a wall.
The brown-haired man tensed his jaw nervously and couldn't believe that a man like him was surrounding him, never mind that they were being watched and more so with that temper.
"It seems to me that it's not for you to decide that, so I want you to tell me where I can find her," he looked up at him from his height, without the option of escape, as he had put his arms around him.
At first glance, that looked quite inappropriate and if it weren't for why she was trying to force him to talk, that position would look very exciting.
"She doesn't want to, why do you want to force me to tell you?"
"Because if you don't tell me, I'm going to look to make your life miserable with those crazy psychopaths you mention," he licked his lips and gave her a cold smile, so she would understand that he wasn't playing games.
The poor man with his hormones raging and his pulse racing, almost nodded on his knees.
"So?" he insisted.
"She and I haven't seen each other except in class, because of the crazy psycho thing, so I don't know how to get her to..."
"You guys don't have plans, I heard there was a party at the stupid soccer players frat," he commented curiously and the brunet thought.
"Yeah, she knows about it, but I don't know if she's going," I denied.
"Well, then I'll leave you a job," he joined in, setting him free again and the younger boy felt himself breathing again. He put a hand on her shoulder, "You're going to get her to go, okay?"
"How, it's complicated."
"No, it won't be for you," he looked around.
"She has a complicated situation now with her family, it's impossible to know if she goes," the major said and rolled his eyes.
"I don't care if she has or not, I just want you to make her go," he ordered, "I expect you to cooperate."
"Why are you threatening me," he frowned, "We don't even know who you are."
He smiled, "Trust me, you don't want to know me, let alone when I threaten. So, just do as I say and I'll leave you alone," she wiped his clothes with a smile and pushed him back to where they had come from, so they could go back to acting as if nothing had happened.
"And if I don't manage to convince her?"
"I'm sure with the necessary motivation you'll do anything to take her," he gave her a punch on the shoulder, before walking away towards the bike.
The girl who had given him the information was waiting for him sitting impatiently on the college lawn.
"Well, let's go," he ordered and she obeyed like an obedient animal, "You sure are a masochist."
"I like good sex, no matter what's in between," she confessed and he smiled in satisfaction.
