Chapter 12: New Roommate

Edelweiss opened the door to her apartment, still feeling strange after what happened today in the campus warehouse which was quite abandoned.

There was a rumbling in her heart that she couldn't understand and since that kiss, her heart had been beating fast.

Meow...

The black cat with blue eyes was waiting for her at the door. She didn't remember when she decided to keep this cat because this cat seemed very comfortable living in this house.

"You're waiting for me, aren't you? You must be hungry? Let's see, is there still canned tuna in the cupboard!" She said as she walked into the kitchen and opened the cupboard to look for canned tuna.

She found the last can of tuna and after this she had no safe food for this cat to eat.

"Looks like you have to buy it again!"

Hearing the annoying sound, Edelweiss immediately turned to the source of the sound where Leviathan was standing in front of the refrigerator and took a carton of fresh milk and cheesecake.

"Why did you just enter someone else's house without permission?"

"Since when does a demon need to ask permission from a human?"

Leviathan munched on a piece of cheesecake leisurely and drank milk straight from the carton. Seeing his annoying behavior, Edelweiss was really annoyed. She never felt like she had ever housed or cared for a devil.

"Actually, what is your purpose in continuing to follow like this?"

"I already told you that I want to take you to hell!"

"Why should I? Aren't there many other humans?"

"You're my first try!"

"What?"

"I'm not skilled at seducing humans into committing crimes, so you're my first test of whether this task is suitable for me or not."

"What were your previous duties?"

"Making big storm and sinking ships."

"You're so cruel!"

"Hey, since when are demons good? You idiot!"

"Still, that's too cruel! Don't you have the slightest pity for the people who died because of your actions?"

"Who cares? Since when do demons have to care about humans? You are lowly creatures who are useless and only cause trouble."

"But the devil is much crueler, like you!"

"Yes, it's up to you, just think of it that way! So, when do you want to go to hell? I'm starting to get bored here!"

Edelweiss stepped over to Leviathan who was sitting casually on her dining table after making a mess in the kitchen by carelessly throwing away cartons of milk and other food waste that she had deliberately thrown away carelessly.

"Throw the trash in the right place! Don't you see there's a trash can there!" She protested while pointing at the trash can lying in the corner of the kitchen.

Leviathan opened the packet of potato chips while looking at Edelweiss with a mocking look as if to show that she didn't care.

"You do it! I'm busy!"

"Busy with what? You've just been eating all this time, you insolent bastard!"

Tin...tun...

The bell rang, Edelweiss was forced to hold back her anger and rush towards the door because she already knew who was coming. When the door opened, Ryan's smile made her mood better.

"Ryan? You're not working?"

"My ship hasn't sailed yet, Edel! I told you the other day, right?"

"Sorry I forgot!" She said as she opened the door so Ryan could enter. But at times like this she actually remembered the troublesome devil who was still in her kitchen.

"I forgot there was a Leviathan. How is this?" She thought. Panic began to arise in her heart, especially when she saw Ryan walking towards the kitchen.

"R-Ryan, what do you want?" She hurriedly stopped Ryan before Ryan reached the kitchen.

"Want to get a drink, is there soda in the refrigerator?"

"W-wait, just let me get it!"

"No need, I'll take it!"

"No! Let me take it!"

"What's wrong with you? Why are you so panicked? Are you afraid I'll see your messy kitchen? Don't worry, I know you're very diligent in cleaning. So your kitchen is definitely clean and tidy, right?"

"T-that's not it, I-"

"You're so strange today! Never mind, I'll take it myself. Don't treat me like a stranger!" He said as he walked towards the kitchen.

Edelweiss trembled, she was really afraid that Ryan would misunderstand if he saw a man in this house. But what she was worried about didn't happen, two minutes later Ryan returned to the living room carrying a can of soda.

"It looks like a stray cat got in and broke open the trash can in the kitchen."

Meow...

The black cat came out of the kitchen after being full from devouring a can of tuna. He licks his hands and feet.

"Ryan didn't see him? Was he hiding?" She thought. Shortly after this suspicion emerged, Leviathan appeared and stood behind Ryan, smiling mockingly.

"You? Why are you still there?" She shouted spontaneously.

"Who? Me?" Ryan asked.

"N-no, I mean the cat!"

"So it's true that it's a stray cat? Do you want me to take it outside?"

"But it's a bit cold outside? It would be a shame if he lived outside."

"So you want to keep him?"

"Is that okay?"

"If it's just one, I think that's fine. As long as it doesn't poop anywhere!"

"He doesn't poop just anywhere!"

"Yeah, okay. Have you bought the food? If you want, I'll buy it!"

"No need, Ryan! I don't want to bother you. Later, I'll just buy it at the pet shop!"

"Don't talk like that! I will do anything for you as long as you can smile like before."
