Chapter 84: Whirlwind

Under the soft glow of the moon, Brandon found himself immersed in a whirlwind of emotions as he contemplated the delicate task of revealing his feelings to Giselle. The night air seemed to carry the weight of his unspoken words, and he wandered through the tranquil garden, searching for the right moment.

As he gazed at the stars above, memories of their shared adventures played like a vivid tapestry in his mind. The battles they fought side by side, the laughter that echoed in the face of danger – all woven into the fabric of their journey together. Yet, amidst the beauty of those recollections, a new and tender emotion had blossomed within Brandon's heart.

The scent of blooming flowers mingled with the crisp breeze, creating an atmosphere charged with the promise of change. He couldn't ignore the longing in his chest, the desire to express what had become undeniable.

However, as he glimpsed Giselle from a distance, he noticed the remnants of her recent battles etched on her face. Her strength, both awe-inspiring and fragile, struck him. A conflict brewed within him – the urgency to confess his feelings clashed with the realization that she was still in the process of healing, both physically and emotionally.

The moonlight revealed the scars on Giselle's skin, souvenirs from the battles that tested their mettle. Brandon's heart ached with empathy, and a profound respect for her resilience surged within him. How could he burden her with the weight of his emotions when she was already carrying the scars of their shared trials?

Taking a seat on the bench, he let out a heavy sigh. The stars above seemed to twinkle knowingly, as if urging him to be patient. The night whispered secrets of resilience and the strength found in vulnerability. Brandon grappled with the conflict between his desire for honesty and the necessity of giving Giselle the time she needed to heal.

The garden, once a backdrop to their shared laughter, became a silent witness to Brandon's internal struggle. It wasn't just about his feelings; it was about understanding the delicate balance between unveiling his heart and allowing Giselle the space to mend hers.

In that quiet moment, Brandon made a silent promise to himself and to Giselle. He would wait, offering his unwavering support as she recovered from the battles that had left their mark. The garden, with its flowers in bloom and the stars as witnesses, became a testament to the unspoken connection that bound them, a connection that could withstand the tests of time and adversity.

And so, under the watchful gaze of the moon and the twinkling stars, Brandon chose patience over impatience, understanding over haste. The passage of time became the ally that would strengthen the foundation of the emotions he harbored, ensuring that when the moment was right, he would express his feelings with a depth that only shared trials could cultivate.

“I have seen my death in my eyes, I have seen pain, suffering all for a cause I do not understand, a cause that I set for myself to avenge a dead person when the one who truly committed the crime was dead too. I met my mother and seeing her face made me realize that I have been waiting for a perfect time to make this decision” Skylar said.

As Damien absorbed Skylar's words, the clash of perspectives hung in the air, a testament to the struggle between tradition and the desire for a different, uncharted destiny. The citadel, once a fortress of darkness, now faced a turning point, where the echoes of Skylar's choices reverberated through the stone walls, shaping the narrative of a world in transition.

“You are one of the persons destines to help Sapphire fulfill her destiny. These were the exact same words the gods told me when I was summoned before them” Skylar said and Damien’s eyes widened in surprise.

“Unbelievable” Damien replied.

As the words lingered between father and son, the castle walls seemed to absorb the gravity of Skylar's revelation. The tension thickened, an unspoken understanding that the destiny Skylar was entwined with went beyond their centuries-old traditions.

Damien's stern expression softened, replaced by a mix of surprise and contemplation. The gods' involvement added a layer of mystique to Skylar's journey, challenging the very core of their existence. The dichotomy of embracing change while holding onto the familiar danced in the air like a delicate waltz.

The moon cast shadows that played on Damien's face as he absorbed the weight of Skylar's experiences. It was a pivotal moment, a crossroads where the past clashed with an uncertain future. The citadel, once a symbol of unwavering darkness, now stood as a backdrop to a discourse that could reshape the destiny of their kind.

“Sapphire's destiny and the gods' words... It's a lot to take in,” Damien finally admitted, a subtle acknowledgment of the uncharted territories Skylar was venturing into.

Skylar met his father's gaze, determination burning in his eyes. The revelation had laid bare the vulnerabilities beneath Skylar's formidable exterior. The gods had woven a narrative that transcended their understanding, placing Skylar in a role that challenged the very fabric of their existence.

“I never expected our paths to intertwine with the divine,” Skylar confessed, his voice a blend of conviction and awe. The courtyard, witness to many battles, now hosted a clash of ideologies that surpassed the physical realm.

Damien's mind wrestled with the implications, the clash between the ingrained survival instincts and the possibility of a life beyond perpetual conflict. The gods had spoken, and their words echoed in the silent corridors of the citadel, leaving an indelible mark on the legacy Damien had strived to protect.

“Skylar, the gods' words bring a new dimension to our reality. It's not just about vampires and werewolves; it's about forces beyond our comprehension,” Damien mused, his eyes searching for answers in the moonlit night.

Skylar nodded, acknowledging the profound shift in perspective. The air crackled with uncertainty, a fusion of ancient beliefs and the revelation of a divine purpose. The citadel, once resistant to change, now stood on the precipice of transformation.

As father and son grappled with the ramifications of the gods' intervention, the castle walls, once stoic witnesses to countless battles, now absorbed the essence of a conversation that could redefine the very essence of their existence. The destiny Skylar carried intertwined with the gods' will, painting the future with hues of uncertainty and possibility.

Skylar left his father standing there still shocked form what he told him, he wasn’t ready to have one more conversation and make this a whole lot more difficult for himself, so he went to his chambers to have some rest. On his ways there he noticed some eyes staring at him with so much hate and disgust, he knew that the vampires hated him now but if only they were in his shoes they wouldn’t be that way, but he cannot go around explaining his plight to everyone so he rather they thought whatever they wanted to.

He felt so tired and weak as he entered into his room, removing his coat and his shoes and lay on his bed snuggling under the thick sheets as he thought of his life one more time, how far apart he had fallen from the right path he thought to himself.

While he lay on his bed, he felt himself drift into sleep and suddenly he found himself in the other realm.

There was a loud bang that forced him to wake up from his sleep and have saw his father, Damien holding Elaine and Edgar in both of his hands, strangling them.

“What are you doing?” Skylar said springing up from the bed immediately.

“Eliminating the threats that stand in our way” Damien said with a smirk on his lips as his grip tightened causing them to be unable to speak.

“Don’t do this father, take whatever you want from me, just let them go they’ve suffered enough” Skylar said as he approached his father slowly trying to talk sense into his adamant mind.

“Really, have they suffered enough?” a dark sinister voice spoke from the other side of the room and scratching of the wall was heard.

“Meredith? What are you doing here” Skylar said surprised that his father allowed Meredith into his room when he knew how dangerous she was to him at that point.

“Let them go!!!!” Giselle said appearing from a portay with Brandon and a burst of energy emanated from her body, it didn’t move anyone in the room but it activated Elaine’s stone.

Elaine shined with bright light that was about to turn into an outburst, Meredith disappeared when she saw the light grow stronger and stronger. In one moment, they were all standing in Skylar’s room and in another moment, they were on the grounds of the Red stone pack house that had been abandoned since after Skylar’s attack.

Damien was on the group knocked out by the light while Elaine and Edgar caught their breaths on the ground with Giselle and Brandon assisting them.

Elaine gained her strength and stood up, she moved towards Skylar and helped him up as she felt that he had no powers again and was almost like a regular human.

“Thank you Sapphire” Skylar said and she gave him a small smile that warmed his heart.

“What are we going to do with him” Giselle said staring at Damien’s body.

“Leave him here till he wakes up, we’re going home” Edgar said and Giselle opened a portal they all walked into and returned to the white stone citadel.

“Hey, Giselle I want to talk to you” Brandon said holding her arm gently before she walked away.

“Is everything alright? Are you hurt” she said as her eyes roamed around his body to see if he had any injuries.

“No, I do not” he said after a soft chuckle.

“So what do you want to talk about?” she said with curiosity filled in her eyes.

“Let’s go somewhere private” he said and held her arm as he led her to the library.

They walked quietly and on getting there, he helped her open the doubled doors which he knew she couldn’t handle.

“Alright, spill” she said as soon as she took a seat next to him.

“Uhmm.. So.. I don’t want you thinking of this in the wrong way. This is something that have been on my mind since I met you and I need to tell you” Brandon said looking at her straight in the eyes.

“Go on Bran, I’m all ears” she said smiling. He became more nervous as he saw her smile and she called him Bran.

“I’m in love with you Giselle” he said and he noticed that expression changes into that of shock.

After few moments of staring at each other, Bran stood up immediately and faces her.

“I think this was a mistake, I’m really sorry for being so inappropriate and making you uncomfortable” he said stuttering as he felt embarrassed for what he had just done.

“It wasn’t” she said standing up and walking closer to him, looking him straight in the eye.

“I’m in love with you too Brandon, I have been since the moment I saw you walk into that house” she said with so much emotions in her eyes as she let the tears fall down.

“Shhh.. don’t cry, did I do something wrong?” he said as he stood closer to her, holding her face in his hands and staring into her eyes with worry.

“I just never thought you will love me back, I thought you were just being nice. There are so many beautiful women that want you out there, why me?” she said unsure of what he had seen in her that made him love her.

“There are so many women, but none of them are you Giselle, you make me feel like I’m the only man in the world. Your smile lights up my life and your eyes, your beautiful eyes, I see beauty and love in them” he said and she blushed while still crying.

“So don’t cry, I should be the one worried if I deserve someone as good as you” Brandon said and she smiled gently while he wiped the tears off her eyes.

His gaze moved to her lips and soon caught it in a captivating kiss, his hand left her face and held her waist while the other was on her side caressing hee fondly. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in as she enjoyed how he was kissing her. After few moments they disengages from the kiss and stared at each other happily.

“I love you Giselle” Brandon said with a longing expression on his face.

“I love Brandon” she replied holding him in her arms gently.
