Chapter 78: Finding
“We do not have anytime to waste, what we’re fighting here is no ordinary army or soldiers we have to be ready and conscious for everything because they are not going to have any sympathy with us on the battle field, we are all strong but to win this war, we’ll need to portray as weak and helpless to be able to use the strategy we’ve all worked on. This will give us more advantage over Meredith’s army” Brandon said addressing the numerous soldiers that stood before him.
“Firstly, we would split in to four different groups, each to stay at a designated position to fight because Meredith is most likely to make her made attack from all fronts”
“The first group will take their position at the bridge gate, the other group in the check gate, the third in the lower town gate and the fourth group which is the largest will protect the citadel, that is the defense point if anything happens to that group we are left vulnerable and the ones we really need to protect, will all be dead”

“When did she become that powerful?” Claudia said immediately Meredith disappeared from the room.
“She became that powerful when she went to the other realm, silenced the god of death snd became it herself, she now has the power to take lives of anyone she wants” Elaine said with worry written all over her face, Meredith was becoming too powerful and it gave her worries, lots of worries.
“This is disastrous” Edgar said as he ran his fingers through his hair.
“I think I should be somewhere else right now, figuring out how to kill deatg herself, you all should go on with the plans I’ll be back within few hours” Elaine said amdbwithout waiting for anyone to say anything she stood up and left the room.
As she walked through the halls, many thoughts kept flying through her head, there must be a way to shorten Meredith’s life and make her have shorter time to accomplish all the evil missions she had mapped in her head for the werewolves.
“Your majesty!!!” Giselle said running towards her as she seemed to have a smile on her face like something good happened.
“Hello Giselle, how are you doing today?” Sapphire said and she noticed her smile brighten.
“Very well, My Lady” Giselle replied bowing slightly and still walking in a fast as she trued to keep up Elaine’s pace.
“That’s good to hear, I believe you have some good news to share with me don’t you?” Elaine said looking at her for a brief moment.
“Yes, my lady but good news are meant for only the both of us to hear” Giselle said raising a brow and Elaine knew exactly what she meant.
“That’s good to hear, you’re a smart woman Giselle” Elaine said smiling proudly, at least she knew that she could trust this one and no negative energy came from her.
They both walked through the halls and finally came to their destination, the library, the place they have spent the better part of the past few weeks as they tried to figure it out. The both pushed the big doubled doors open and closed it when they entered.
“So what do you have to tell me, we’re running out of time” Elaine said hastily as she searched for the books she came to the library for.
“Hold on my Lady” Giselle said and Elaine saw her close her eyes and take a deep breath, she was listening to hear if anyone was spying on them and apparently no one was so she proceeded to tell Elaine what she had to say.
“Come on Giselle, we do not have time” Elaine said with worry in her eyes.
“I found out something about Meredith, something damning” Giselle said.
“What could possibly be damning to someone who has the power to take any life she wanted?” Elaine said inquisitively.
“Except she doesn’t have the power to take any life she wanted” Giselle replied.
“What do you mean by that?” Elaine said very curious.
“Do you want to hear the story?” Giselle said and Elaine responded positively.
“The God of life and death were best of friends until the god of death abuses his power to take the life of someone dearest to the god of life. The god of life took it too personally that he went on a quest to find out what could take away the god of death powers but at some point he realizes nothing could, he was the one that could take away the power.
“He shifted the balance of the world, he made it so that he is the one that seizes life before there is death and not the god of death takimg life to himself. So without the god of life proclaiming death, the god of death couldn’t take a life. There was a fierce battle for this and all the god of death could do was fight for something that was already in place and never to be changed for eternity” Giselle said and Elaine understood her perfectly.
“So you’re saying that Meredith isn’t as powerful as we think she is?” Elaine said and smiled cunningly.
“Of course she isn’t and I believe she knows this too” Giselle replied.
“That’s some news, now carry on with your story” Elaine said and Giselle continued.
“The god of life was sure to send the god of death to the deepest bowels of the earth which is known today as hell, the god of death became weary so he did all he could to make sure the mortals still believed that he could take their life, and he fed on their fear” Giselle said and was about to open her mouth to say another word when Elaine stopped her.
“What did you say he fed on?” Elaine said as she had a thought in her head.
“He fed on fear, the fear that mortals show when he breaks to them that he could take their life if he wanted” Giselle replied.
“That’s what making Meredith feel so powerful, it’s what making her feel invincible. She knows she doesn’t have the power, and I am damn sure she only found that out after she stole the powers” Elaine said and Giselle had the same thought with her.
“We have to inform every other person about this, this is something that we can use to our own advantage” Giselle said and Elaine didn’t reply.
“What I realize now is that she used me to test that theory and I’m very sure she isn’t convinced so she’s going to try again with some other person, so we need to be discreet about who we give out the information to” Elaine said and Giselle nodded in understanding.
“You inform Lord Edgar and her majesty, I’ll inform Brandon” Giselle said and they both left the library few moments later after making sure that no one was listening all the while they were speaking.
Giselle walked through the halls, passed the long aisles and she came to the training grounds where she knew she was going to find Brandon, she looked for him in the crowded number of soldiers, finally her eyes rested on him, he was the Lord commander and was at a corner teaching two young boys on how to handle a sword. She stared at him, she adored his jet black hair that was wet and ruffled, some strands fell on his face and it made him look even more sexy. She kept on staring at his perfectly toned muscles, abs and pacs, she haven’t know many men in her life but she knew this one and she felt like her heart was drawn to him.
While she stood there lost in thought of how attractive he was to her, she didn’t notice when he caught her staring and pretended like he didn’t.
She thought about the day he walked through those doors and how he caught her attention the very first moment he entered, it was almost magical but she was more focused on his aim at that moment.
“What are you doing here you little witch?” One of the men approached her with so much hate in his voice.
“That’s none of your business” Giselle replied without a single ounce of fear in her body.
“Is that how you talk to someone who gave you a chance to live? Who didn’t kill you alongside your whole clan that lived under our roof way before you were born” the man said again and Giselle got pissed at the man.
“You egocentric bastard, if you dare speak to me in that manner one more time then I’ll shatter your bones into pieces” she said as a smirk appeared on her face as she was ready to do exactly as she said.
“With what hands? How do you intend to break them?” The man said again but this time he raised his hands and gave her a dirty slap across her face, one she didn’t see coming, and in that moment every other person on the training ground turned to look at them including Brandon.
“Who gave you the right to think you could raise your hand on me and go scout free” Giselle said as she raised her hands and the man felt his own wrist crack, and another bone in his body following it.
“Arrrggghhhh” the man screamed on top of his voice and every other person just stood watching the scene unfold before them.
Brandon knew that the man had done something unspeakable so he wanted him to pay the price for a while before he went to tell Giselle to let him go.
“She’s a monster just as they said” he heard one of the soldiers say and he walked closer to her.
“Giselle, let him go” Brandon said and she looked at him with obvious rage in her eyes.
“I will not, how dare he? Who gave him the right to believe that my family was killed because we didn’t serve the werewolves properly?” She said and Brandon knew exactly how she felt at that moment.
“I understand Giselle, but have mercy on him, do for him what they weren’t able to do for your people, it makes you a much more better person than they will ever be” Brandon said as he held her hand and looked into her eyes.
