Chapter 54: Tell Me You Don't Love Me

Scarlett’s Point of View

A gaping hole opened in my chest, aching with pain; his words still lingered in my head like music on a loop; they wouldn't stop replaying in my brain. I succeeded in avoiding him, but the ache in my heart was just….

Unbearable.

A deep part of me wanted to give him a chance, to allow myself to be happy, but I was well aware that happiness was never meant for me. I was born to be lonely and die alone. Every time I tried to open up to happiness, something always happened and snatched that little happiness I had.

I'm tired of getting hurt again and again, nor do I want to hurt him; he deserves someone better than me.

A lump formed in my throat at the thought of him with someone else. How I wish I were selfish. Maybe I could have given in and been with him, but my love for him won't allow me to.

Tears streamed down my cheeks, and I quickly brought my hand to my face, wiping them away. I grasped my bag, ready to step out of my room before Asher could come back. I'd ask him over the phone if our plan had succeeded or not.

I made my way to the entrance, yanking the handle. I swung the door open only to freeze on the ground. My eyes went wide to see Asher standing by the door, his hands in his pockets as he leaned against the walls, a few steps away from my door.

Damn it!

He wasn't supposed to find me here. He usually comes home at night, and it was the afternoon. Before I could get a chance to leave...

“M... Mister Black,” I cleared my throat, trying hard to keep a straight face. “I... I... was just leaving,” I stammered. Asher’s eyes locked with mine as he took a step towards me. My heart raced against my chest, and I took a step back until my back collided with the hairdresser. I was now between him and the hairdresser.

“Why are you avoiding me, Scarlett?” Asher’s voice dropped into a whisper, his tone husky. I swallowed, my breath coming in short gasps.

“I... I'm not avoiding you,” I stammered, averting his intense gaze. He was making things hard for me. I was so close to completing my mission and going away, and I didn't want to give in to these forbidden emotions.

“You were avoiding me, Scarlett. I know it,” Asher leaned closer, closing the little distance between us. His hand wrapped around my waist as he lifted me to sit on the dresser. My pulse quickened as he spread my legs apart, standing between them. His lips were a few inches away from mine. If I dared to make a move, our lips would touch. His breath was on my skin, a hot caress that sent a shiver down my spine.

“A... Asher, what are you doing?” My words were barely above a whisper, averting my gaze from his as much as I could.

“How about we finish this game once and for all,” Asher’s lips brushed against mine. My breath came in short pant, a heat rising between my legs, a shiver rushing down my spine.

He was so close, too close for my own good. His hand moved to my thighs, his fingers drawing circles on my skin. Blood throbbed in my veins, with a scarlet web of desires I couldn't seem to control. It was like my brain cells had stopped working at all, and I hated it.

“Tell me you don't love me, and I promise I'd leave you alone for good,” Asher's lips were against mine, his intoxicating fragrance filling my nostrils. My lips parted against his, and I tried to speak, to tell him I didn't love him and he should leave me alone, but my words caught up in my throat.

I loved him, I wanted him, I wanted his lips against mine, I wanted him inside of me, and selfishly wanted him to myself.

“Silence has many meanings, Scarlett. Say something before I assume something wrong,” Asher’s voice trailed to my ears, his voice husky, his warm breath sharp against my skin. I sucked in a sharp breath, trying hard to keep my calm, but it was nearly impossible.

“Asher, please stop!” My words came out as a pleading moan.

Damn! How can I lose my self-control just like that? “Tell me you don't love me. Trust me, I'd leave you alone. But if you stay silent, I'm going to kiss you, and once I do, there's no going back,” Asher threatened, his tone husky with a lot of emotions I couldn't describe. I tried to open my mouth to say something, but his warm and wet kiss landed on my neck, a lusty feeling of warmth stole over me. All my words were trapped in my throat.

His hand moved over to my neck, grasping it gently, slamming his lips against mine, kissing away all my doubts. I let myself get lost in the moment, my legs wrapped around his waist. We kissed open-mouthed, panting so hard, his hands roaming over my body.

“Fuck, Scarlett, your lips taste so damn good,” Asher spoke between the kiss, thrusting his tongue into my mouth, exploring each and every corner. A moan escaped as his hand landed on my clit, stroking it gently against my lace pants, pulling my dress up, leaving my thighs exposed , sending my whole body on fire with uncontrollable pleasure.

“Asher,” I moaned his name, responding to the kiss. Both of us got lost in the moment.

But the sound of footsteps echoing outside the room snapped me out of my daze. I quickly pushed Asher away from me.

The sound of the knock echoed on the door. I panted so hard, trying to pull myself together, but the heat between my legs was just unbearable. The urge of him inside of me increased. I swallowed painfully hard as our eyes locked.

I jumped off the counter, ready to head to the door, but he wrapped his arms around my waist from behind, his lips landing on my shoulder.

“Scarlett, you can't always find a way to avoid me. I can't keep myself from thinking about you. Everything in my brain is all about you. You are living right in my brain, and the more I stay away from you, the more I lose my brain cells. Please stop driving me crazy,” Asher spoke against my lips, his voice deep with emotions. A gasp escaped my lips, my heart now banging against my chest. For a second, I thought it was going to burst out of my chest.

“Asher, I... I...” I stammered, unable to form a sentence. How can I when his hand was wrapped around my waist, his firm body pressed against mine from behind, his lips against my skin?

If he could make me lose my brain cells with just a kiss, how will I behave if he finally enters me fully?

Damn!

A warm liquid dripped between my legs. I shut my eyes closed at the imagination flashing in my brain.

“Miss Scarlett, are you there?” Tina’s voice echoed from outside. I tried to move out of Asher's embrace, but he didn't let me.

“Join me for dinner tonight, and I will let you go, unless you want her to see us together?” Asher’s lips moved against my skin, sending a sharp shiver down my spine.

He was doing this on purpose. He knew I didn't want them to see me with him, and he was using it against me.

“Fine,” my voice was more like a pleading moan. I didn't think he'd have so much affect on me. I couldn't even form a sentence.

The door handle clicked. Asher quickly let me go as the door swung open. I swallowed painfully hard as Tina walked into the room.

“Next time I won't just kiss you, but I'd do much more. I'd make you forget your name but moan my name,” Asher whispered in my ear, a smirk stretched on his lips as he began walking away, his eyes not leaving mine.

I swallowed painfully hard. “Your face is so red?” Tina threw me a knowing look as she stepped into the room. I shrugged as I smoothed my dress with my hand.

“Will you tell me why you are here, Tina?” I threw a sharp glare at her, trying hard to keep my calm, but my heart was still pounding so hard against my chest. She smirked, her eyes scanning me from head to toe.

“Well, our plan has worked. Scarlynn is outside, and she wants to meet you,” Tina said, a grin on her lips.

I scoffed. Everything was going according to my plan. It's time to finish them off once and for all.
