Chapter 54: An Open Ending

" This relation puts her in pain, I see it bringing her down. And I can't leave her either because she's the only one I felt loved around. I've been selfish for way too long Lucas, I've wanted to let her go to put her out of this misery this toxic relationship, but I just can't do it. " I remember how I hurt her, how I called her makes, humiliated her in front of anyone. The first time she had sex with me, it was awful for her. I was a monster. But she loved me even after that. "

" She shouldn't have though, she shouldn't have loved me. This love is toxic for her. But I was greedy and we continued this game despite it tearing her apart. "

" When in love, you forget your own existence and I wanna forget mine. " He murmurs.

All senses leaving his mind. I am about to talk some sense into his brain but I stop before words can come out.

I love Emma, and Emma loves Noah, but what if there is no Noah?

" What is the worst thing you've done to her till now? " I ask, beginning my manipulation.

" I made her have sex with me for money. She didn't want to, but I left her with no choice. How can that not haunt her for the rest of her life? " He asks, looking at me. His eyes losing the color of life. Hollow and empty.

" Do you think that can be forgiven, or she can be freed from that nightmare? " I ask, playing with his mind.

He looks at me and ponders for a second then shakes his head in negative.

" Then free her, free her from this nightmare, and end it. Let her be happy. " I state, giving him the hint.

And then I leave him on his own. Vulnerable and broken. His death was inevitable, I just helped him catalyze it.

The next thing I know, Noah is dead. He drove his car into deep waters.

One thing that remains a mystery to this day is, his body was never found. I got a fake body so that Emma's heart could be at ease. So she could feel a little assurance when she would visit his grave.

The fact leaves a deep fear in my heart, let's just hope Noah doesn't have the ability to come back from the dead.

A knock interrupts me from my train of thought.

" Would you like anything special for today's dinner? " The maid asks.

" Yes, do make sure there is cheesecake for dinner. " I instruct. Emma likes that very much and I care about what she likes very much.

Like I said, If Noah loved her truly, he wouldn't have abandoned her.

You don't give up on people you love. I won't ever desert Emma like that because I have loved her, truly and the time we spend together is proof of that blooming love.
