Chapter 279: I'm Really Glad It Was You I Met That Day
Anna was shocked and found it increasingly unbelievable the more she thought about it. However, now she and Xiaoyue had a common enemy; they could join forces against Luna.
"Anna, since it's her, we definitely can't let her go! Do you trust me? If you do, just follow my lead! There are plenty of ways to make Luna's life miserable without us even lifting a finger. Her family is full of troublemakers; we can..."
After hearing Sophia's words, Anna's expression changed from sorrow to joy.
Sophia was right. Any one of Luna's troublesome relatives could cause a huge commotion.
In the Lee family, Luna and Danniel were talking about some funny incidents they had encountered before, and Danniel was laughing so hard he was almost on the floor. Charles happened to come downstairs and saw this scene. Besides feeling warm, he was also a bit jealous.
Luna was his wife; Danniel shouldn't be so close to her. Moreover, Luna seemed more relaxed around her brother-in-law than around him.
"Uncle, we need to go now. Give Luna back to me."
Charles walked over to Luna and possessively pulled her into his arms.
Luna stiffened for a moment but quickly relaxed.
First, because she knew they were acting, and second, because she found she didn't mind being close to Charles as much as she thought.
"Leaving already? I haven't finished talking with Luna yet," Danniel said, clearly reluctant.
It had been a long time since he had met such an interesting girl.
"Eric is still with Sandra; we need to pick him up. Luna has to work tomorrow, and I would feel bad if she didn't get enough rest."
Charles's expression was natural as he spoke about caring for Luna and giving Danniel another jab.
"Let's go."
Charles pulled Luna away. Luna gave Danniel an apologetic smile and was led by Charles all the way to the car, where he finally let go of her hand.
"I'm really glad it was you I met that day and not Anna."
Charles started the car and glanced at Luna, his eyes gentle and focused.
Luna smiled, "You used to call me Ms. Brown! After spending some time together, we managed to get along, didn't we? You have no idea how difficult you were to deal with back then!"
Luna meant that she wasn't special; it was Charles who had high standards.
"It was my fault before, but I won't be like that anymore," Charles said sincerely.
"We're not at Ashley's house now; you don't have to keep acting. You can be yourself," Luna teased him, thinking he was addicted to acting.
Charles sighed helplessly, "Do I look like I'm acting?"
Luna was taken aback, her eyes clouded with confusion.
"Luna, I'll call you that from now on, okay? You don't mind, do you?"
Charles noticed Luna didn't know how to respond to his previous question, so he changed the subject. He didn't want to make her uncomfortable.
But he also knew how to benefit himself.
"Honestly, the first time you called me Luna, I got goosebumps. But now I'm used to it. But I won't call you Honey."
Charles fell silent.
Why did she have to bring up Anna again?
"Isn't it a small world? Anna was the one you were originally going to get a marriage license with, and I happened to share a ride with Danniel on a rare splurge!"
Luna sighed sincerely.
Charles's eyes were gentle, and he agreed with this sense of fate.
Actually, there's an even bigger coincidence! The old man in your neighborhood who catches mischievous kids is my real grandfather!
"Hey, isn't that Eric? And who's that woman pushing the stroller? That's not Sandra!"
At this moment, Luna suddenly saw a woman pushing Eric in a wheelchair by the roadside. Eric looked very tired.
