Chapter 111

He bumped into her first so Vanessa didn't bother to apologize as she waked past him and walked into th grocery store. If he was really the person behind all of this, then on thing was sure; him bumping into her now wasn't just a mere coincidence it was obviously staged. She turned around to see him walking into his car through the glass window.

Vanessa decided to mind her business for now, she faced her front and walked towards the shelfs where flours where kept. She took a 10 gram bag of floor and other little ingredients she needed for baking a Cup cake.

After picking them, she went to the counter to pay for what she bought. She walked out of the grocery store with a shopping bag in her hands. Settling down inside her car, she kept the shopping bag on the chair beside her since she was the only one sitting at the back seat.

The ride to her house was a quite one as Diego was solely focused on the road in front of them and Lily was busy with some task on her Tablet while Vanessa scrolled through her phone looking for some new Cup cakes recipe.

Few minutes later, Diego pulled the car to a stop in front of Vanessa's drive away.

"Ms. Rodriguez, we've arrived." Diego informed, turning off the cars engine.

Vanessa then looked up from her phone.

"Oh." She muttered as she glanced outside the window.

Diego was already helping her carry her bag out.

"Are you guys busy after now?" Vanessa asked as she stepped out of her car.

"No. I don't think so." Lily asked, looking at Diego for confirmation. He agreed with a small nod.

"Great. I'll be making a lot for dinner." She said, grabbing her shopping bag from Diego and walking forward, towards her door.

"So, there will be enough for us?" Lily asked, adjusting her skirt as she walked behind Vanessa.

"Sure." Vanessa replied, searching for her spare key in her purse.

She finally found it and used it to unlock her door.

She went straight to the kitchen to drop the shopping bag, when she came back to the living room, Lily was dropping her bag on the couch while Diego was taking off his Black jacket that he wore on top of his white shirt.

"Where are the rest of the guard staying?" Vanessa asked Diego.

"In the boys quarter here."

"This building has that?" Vanessa asked, stunned for a moment.

"Yes, behind this building." Lily confirmed.

"Alright, I'll check it out later." She smiled.

"Diego, I want to to assign the guards on more important tasks now, from guiding the house to protecting my kids." Vanessa said seriously.

"Copy that." Diego said, already standing up from the couch he settled on a minute ago.

"I'll do that now." He added.

"Ms. Rodriguez, do you want me to install more cameras around the house?" Lily asked.

"Yes, put more outside." Vanessa instructed.

"Alright." Lily nodded her head, picking up her tablet while Diego walked outside.

Vanessa walked out of the living room, going towards her kids room. She quietly pushed their door open and walked in. Ethan and Emma were still sleeping peacefully on their bed while Ethan was sitting on the chair, backing Vanessa.

She approached her desk quietly and tapped her shoulders and Emily flinched as she snapped her head towards Vanessa.

"Ma'am, you're back? That scared me." She breathed.

"How did you walk in so quietly?" Emily asked.

"That's why you should be more alert." Vanessa advised.

"I'm sorry if I scared you." Vanessa apologized.

"It's okay. I'll do better next time." Emily said, looking determined.

Vanessa glanced at the desk to see different books scattered on it.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

"Some school assignment." Emily replied.

"Alright, I'll leave you to it." Vanessa said.

"I'll be making dinner, I'll inform you when I'm done." Vanessa added before leaving.

She returned back to her room, and quickly stripped off her clothes and took a quick bath. After that, she got dressed in a black pants and a blue blouse. She tied her hair into a tight bun before leaving for the kitchen.

She decided make Spaghetti Bolognese for dinner while she baked the Cup cakes for her kids.

ONE HOUR LATER

"Mommy! You're back." Emma said, running towards Vanessa who was setting up dinner in the dinning room.

Vanessa put down the plates she was holding and crouched down to Emma's level.

"I am, dear. How was school today?" She asked, kissing her cheeks.

"It was fine."

Vanessa smiled, then helped her seat on one of the dinning chairs.

"Where is Ethan?" She asked.

"He is coming with Emily." Emma replied.

On her way out of the dinning room, she met them. Ethan was quick to throw himself into her arms. Vanessa laughed, hugging him back and also kissing his cheeks. She returned to the dinning room with Ethan in her arms, she then dropped him on a chair beside Emma.

Emily also took her seat beside the kids. When Lily and Diego returned, they all settled down and began eating dinner.

After dinner, Emily went back to her assignment while Vanessa carried the dirty dishes to the kitchen to wash.

Her kids on the other hand, went to the living room to play with their toys.

ROYALS MANSION

Monica approached her husband who was sitting in the living room sipping a glass of wine.

She settled down beside him with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"How about that bitch? Have you gotten rid of her already?" She asked, hatred dripping through her words.

Her husband spared her a glance as he twirled the wine inside the glass cup with a gentle smirk.

"The first plan has been carried out, let's see if she's up for it." He said, taking a sip from his wine.

"What do you mean by that?" Monica asked.

"Let's see if she can survive it."
