Chapter-47 Dicussion

VALERIE'S POV

Discussing. That's what everyone has been doing for the last three hours or so. From the moment Logan found out about the weird tattoo-like thing on my left arm, it has become a hot sensation in the council, and they have been constantly talking about it.

What the hell am I doing? I play with my horses while looking at the lounge from time to time in hopes that maybe they would come out and tell me what they had decided and what they think this is all about.

I didn't tell them about my dream.

Because that's what it was. Just a dream. They were already sitting there thinking about probably hundreds of things that could be the reason.

Apart from Logan, probably, no one even knows that I am turning into a vampire already because I drink from Ambrose.

Wait. Does Logan even know about it? I am not so sure.

Honestly, I am not sure about anything anymore. Everything feels like a big blur to me. I have been playing with my lovely horses, but my mind is constantly thinking about things. Or should I say, overthinking things?

I am sure they haven't even bothered to call Ambrose to this meeting because, well, he is not a part of the council, and maybe because they don't know what kind of deep bond I and Ambrose share that goes way beyond saying yes to his marriage proposal, which I remember I still haven't.

'Adele, you have been awfully quiet from the moment I woke up. I at least expected to hear a few things from you. Your opinions about how this mark must've appeared would be helpful,' I said, and Adele just turned her head to the other side, laying lazily in my head space.

"What do you want me to say, Valerie?" She asked, and I narrowed my eyes.

'Something enlightening? Among the two of us, you are the one who knows about supernatural beings and things the most. So, I was hoping to get some knowledge from you. Why do you think this mark appeared on my shoulder? And out of nowhere? How is it possible?' I asked her, and she sighed.

"Honestly, Valerie, you might find it weird because I think this is strange too, but I didn't see it. The dream that you have been talking and thinking about, I didn't see it. Not even a gist of it. This is not new and has happened before too, but this time I can't see it even when you are thinking about it. Like, it's appearing like a black haze to me," Adele's words confused me.

"And that is a matter of problem because?" I didn't understand her logic of being so wary and weirded out because of it.

"I think it's because your vampire powers are overshadowing me. When they are in control, I have little to no control over you. I don't know, and though it hasn't happened yet, I have a strong feeling that they will try to take over you soon, and my voice will be nothing more than a whisper in your ears that you won't even be able to hear," Adele's soft voice made me look at her in concern.

'Hey, you don't need to worry about all that. If my vampire powers try to take control of me, that's okay. Maybe that's destiny," I blinked at her, and the scowl that immediately appeared on her face made me laugh at her.

"Seriously, girl, do you really think I am going to let some vampire powers take over me and snatch my wolf or overpower her? That is my true species nature?" I asked her before sighing.

"Adele, my wolf, you know better than anyone that I am a good fighter and a very resilient and persistent one at that. No matter what happens, you are going to stay with me and whatever demonic or vampire powers may come in between. They are not going to take your authority over this body away from you, okay? You are not different. You are my wolf, my part," I said, and a wolfy grin appeared on her face, making me chuckle and shake my head.

"Valerie, he is here," Adele whispered softly in a shy voice, and I turned to look at my man, looking as dashing as ever.

Huh, how can a person look so edible in the morning is beyond me.

His gray eyes immediately swept around the surroundings as he looked at his phone. Why isn't he looking at me?

And why the hell am I looking at him as if seeing him for the first time? I rolled my eyes and turned back to my horse before ruffling her hair.

"Be good, okay? I'll ride with you soon. Let's just wait a bit more," I said to her, and she neighed as if understanding my words, making me smile.

"You are going to ride with her? And here I thought you would be riding me," Ambrose whispered into my ears before kissing my neck, and I smiled.

"Well, I don't mind that either, but are you really unoccupied? What's the matter?" I asked him, and he sighed.

"It's nothing, love. I was just talking to George to get the intel if he and Jeremy found anything worth following. How was your sleep?" He turned me towards himself, and I smiled forcefully.

How was sleep? Sleep was filled with dreams and hallucinations.

"I slept nicely. How was yours? You were sleeping quite soundly when I woke up. It's like three and a half hours ago," I smiled, and he scratched the back of his head boyishly, making me swoon inwardly.

"What can I say, my love? The amount of dopamine that is released in my body because of your constant presence is not affecting my sleep, and I sleep like a baby now," he smiled.

"Well, if that's the case, I hope you don't keep sleeping all the time after we get together, yeah? I mean, will I have to look for some action outside because my alpha is sleeping and -mmm!" I patted his shoulder when he attacked my lips in a hungry kiss.
