Chapter 525: Giving Wilson a Punchline

Wilson shrugged. "Landen knew it too. Whoever has done a thorough investigation on Declan's background would have known. After all, Declan was the one who hacked into the Shilling Group and stole their confidential data in retaliation for what Shelby had done to the Castle Group."

"Damn it," Aaron cursed.

Wilson continued, "Besides, don't you find it odd? The unstoppable top hacker, C, just vanished suddenly not long after he made his first appearance on the internet. At that point of time, it was also the time when Declan took over Castle Group."

He ruffled Aaron's buzzed hair while speaking, "Aaron, remember to do some background research before you name someone as your coach, okay? No wonder Declan was so organized and efficient in dealing with the previous incident. I guess you're the one who spilled the beans unintentionally. That's why he was well-prepared at that time. It all makes sense now."

At last, Aaron had figured out all the things that troubled him after hearing what Wilson said.

Wilson took a look at his watch and reminded Aaron, "The performance is about to start; let's get in. By the way, I just saw Declan and Freya going inside."

Aaron immediately opened the car door and hopped off.

When he stepped into the theatre, he thought of something and gradually slowed down his step. "Something's not right. I was going to rig off some pocket money from Wilson at the beginning. But in the end, I'm not getting a single penny from him and ended up showing him my dumb side instead."

"Shit! Just wait and see, Wilson," Aaron scoffed with gritted teeth.

Aaron entered the multimedia hall where Hope was going to perform later. "Over here." Freya waved at her son the moment she saw him.

At the same time, Aaron saw Declan turning around and looked at him with a smirk like a sly fox.

He had decided that he would not want to mess with his father. At least not when his ability was not as strong as his father's. Nothing good had ever happened to him since the day he framed Declan.

However, he was adaptable, just like his mother. He walked toward his parents with a fawning smile on his face.

Freya tried her best to hold back her laughter as it was rare to see her son's staggered face.

She turned her back at Aaron and buried her head in Declan's chest to hide her laugh. Declan hugged her and caressed her hair gently.

Aaron held his chin and locked his gaze to the front as he did not want to witness his parents' public display of affection.

Just then, the host showed up on the stage to announce the start of the performance.

Freya glanced at the stage and her eyes lit up in anticipation.

It was a choir performance, with Hope as the pianist. She was the only child in the team and so she stood out from the other adults. She drew the audience's attention immediately because of her young age and also her pretty face. In addition, Hope looked angelic in her white dress, especially with the shimmering lighting that shone on her.

As Hope played the piano, a beautiful mellow tone filled the whole venue. At that moment, Freya could sense a charisma that was beyond Hope's age.

...

Freya could hear that the audience behind her were amazed by Hope's performance. They praised Hope as a genius, an angel, and a child blessed by God in different languages. She was indeed proud of her daughter.

Her eyes teared up, and her heart was filled with immense gratification when she looked at both of her children. How lucky of her and Declan to have such adorable children by their side.

The performance finally came to an end.

Freya, Declan and Aaron went backstage and waited for Hope.

After dressing up in her casual clothes, Hope skipped over in joy when she saw her family. She exclaimed, "Daddy, Mommy, Aaron!"

She was just an ordinary young girl when she was with her family. Her eyes sparkled in anticipation as she raised her head and waited to be praised. When Freya saw her expression, her heart melted into a puddle.

She was never stingy with her praises. "Our precious Hope, you're the best! Mommy only focused on you throughout the performance. You've locked my attention."

Declan nodded and chimed in, "Yes, you did well."

Aaron did not make any remark but raised his thumb to her.

Hope jumped in joy over their compliments. After all, children could never hide their emotions after being praised.

"Oh my gosh, are they the family members of Hope? The whole family is so good-looking!" Some of the audience were peeking at them with sparkling eyes.

"Not just their looks; there's also an intimate atmosphere between them. I bet their relationship is super close."

Upon hearing the chatter, a bright smile spread across Freya's cheeks. She and Declan interlocked their fingers, held each of their children's hands, and left the theatre together.

It was already noon when they walked out of the theatre, and the blazing sunlight scorched the land.

Declan brought Freya and the kids to one of the famous restaurants in town.

The meal was delicious and fit Aaron's taste perfectly. However, his mind was flooded with thoughts. He could not figure out why Declan had not revealed his identity yet as he was sure that his father must have known he knew his identity by now.

Aaron felt anxious, as though he was walking on molten rock. He decided to make the first move and beat Declan to the punch.

A thought flashed across his mind when he saw Declan's phone on the table.

He took out his phone and sent out a message to "C".

Little Gun's Dad is Super Awesome:

After sending the message, Aaron saw his father's phone flashed for a second, notifying a new incoming message.

He was sitting beside Declan, and he pretended to glance at the phone.

Just then, he dropped his fork abruptly on the table, which made a loud clatter.

All eyes were on him at the same time.

Freya and Declan exchanged a cheeky smile as the exaggerated acting of their son amused them.

"What's wrong?" Declan pretended to show his concern.

Aaron grabbed Declan's phone and pretended to be shocked. "Daddy, t-this m-message, how come it ended up here?"
