Chapter 96: Grieving Two Losses

Santiago’s P.O.V.

A few minutes later a doctor came out of Andros’ room and approached us with sadness and sympathy on his face. “Mrs. Chavez?” “Yes?” “I am sorry, we did all we could. Your husband just passed away. Again, I am sorry for your loss.” “NOOOOO…..” I screamed in the middle of the waiting room, Santiago rushed to me and took me into his arms as I cried into his chest. “Santiago you bring her home with you, Diego and Bruno you go with them.” The shook their heads as a worried woman comes rushing into the waiting room. “Santos? Any word?” “”He passed away just a few minutes ago.” “Oh, Santos, Analina I am so sorry.” I just nodded still wrapped up in Santiago’s arms. “I will meet you at the house, I will come home with Holly.” He told us as he held her close to him.

Once I got home I followed a running Analina to her wing of the house, only to find her in the bedroom packing. “”What are you doing?” I asked worried.” “I’m leaving, I can’t stay here.” “Where will you stay then?” I asked her in a panic. “Just to my old room, the one that Andre had done for me, I think I will have Helen stay here with the boys.. Oh, I should tell her.” I  grabbed her as she tried to run pass me and into the nursery. “Analna. I will speak to Helen, you continue your packing, and I will be back to help you.” “Ok, Thanks Santiago.” She said with a sad smile on her face. I left her to go to the nursery. I knocked on the door. “Come in.” An older voice called out. O opened the door and shut it behind me once I entered. “You must be Helen their nanny, I am Santiago a close family friend to the Chavez’ and Santos Chavez’ right hand.” “It is nice to meet you. How is Mr. Chavez doing?” she asked.

“Which one?” “The older one.” “He passed away early this afternoon, your boss Andros also passed away due to a heart attack from loosing his father. (I lied, it is none of her business what goes on in her employers life) Analina is moving out of the wing and back to her old room and she wants you to remain here with the boys.” “Yes, I understand, let her know that I send her my condolences.” “I will.” I said back to her as I opened the door to leave, I had a thought and turned back around. “You may have more kids to watch up until after the day of the funerals.” “No problem, Mr.?’ “Karno.” “Mr.  Karno, that will not be a problem.” “Good.” I say as I walked out of the door and closed it behind me. Making my way back to the bedroom once there I find Analina face down on the bed crying. I went to her and laying next to her I put an arm around her waist to pull her close to me.

“What’s wrong?” “I don’t know what to do with his  tings, this is all my fault.” She says this now crying into my chest. “No, it is mine, I basically gave him the final blow by comforting you and giving the support that you needed to get through this.”  “But it was my deceit that put him in the hospital I the first place.’ “No! do not you dare think that way, it was his insecurities that got the better of him and unfortunately killed him in the process. This is not anyone’s fault but his own.” “I understand that, but I can’t help but to feel guilty.” “Come on, let us finish packing up your things. I will talk to Santos and find out what he wants done with his things, you do not have to lift a finger think about anything I will take care of everything. In fact, I am going to talk to Santos about me going back to Arizona with you, I will leave my position for Marco. He is the one that I was so eager for you and Andros too meet. He has a wife and two boys.”

“Are you sure?” “Yes, you will need the help plus I do not want to leave you alone. I still love you Analina, I know it is not the right time to confess, but I just needed you to know.” She nodded into my chest then got up and went over to her suitcase to finish packing up her things. I went over to her. “How can I help?” “Can you pack up all of my  stuff in my vanity and my shoes.” I do exactly what she has asked of me and got to work on putting her jewelry in her jewelry case and putting all of her accessories into another. Her make-up I put into a bag and zipped it up, places the too cases and the make-up bag into her overnight bag I than grabbed another suitcase and worked on packing her shoes into it. We were interrupted by a knock on the door. I went to answer it.

I opened the door to Santos, Jonathan and John standing there. “Where is Analina? “Jonathan questioned. “In her bedroom. John and Jonathan went into the bedroom as Santos stayed behind with me. “How is she?” “Not doing good. I need to talk to you” “I already know what you are going to say, and I have made all of the arrangements for you to go back with her. I just need to say this, good luck, and I know my brother dying is not yours or hers fault, but if you hurt her you are going to have to answer to me.” He says this as he walks out of the door and down the corridor to his wing that the shares with his wife Holly. The three of them comes out of the room. “Your mother and Mariann will be coming by tomorrow to see you. This is not your fault, peanut.” “I know, but it feels as though it is.” “Thanks for being here for her.” Her brother Jonathan sys to me before walking out of the door. After they leave Analina sits down on the sofa sighing. I sat down next to her.

Finally, she speaks. “They think that I am in the wrong for more than one reason. I should never considered naming my unborn baby after Rocco,  and I should never have agreed to Andre’s dying wish.” “I understand your reasons for doing what you did, and I also understand what  they are saying. But only you can decide  what is right for you.” After I say those words she gives me a kiss on the cheek.  We both stand up after sitting there silently for a few minutes and head back to finish packing up her things. “I talked to Santos, he had everything done before I even said anything to him. He knew that I would want to be with you, he even threatened me if I hurt you in any way. “Ha…ha.. sounds like Santos, my protector.”  She laughs as she speaks, it is good to hear (she needs to be happy again and even though she needs time and I am willing to put in that time, I will be the one to make her happy again).
