Touch Her, You Die

Touch Her, You Die

Arthur's point of view

“I want that woman here dead or alive…” My voice sliced through the tensed air, my teeth gritted together. “Do whatever you have to, but bring her to me.”

“Certainly, sir, we will bring you here today itself.” Dave's voice is void of any emotion. With that, the group of men in black made their way out of the sitting room.

Jad patted my shoulder slightly. “They will find her, and she will pay for all her bad deeds.”

His voice is strained with emotion.

I swallowed painfully hard. She might get punished for all her vile deeds, but Evelyn was already slipping away like sand slipping away from my palm, and no matter what I'd try to do, I couldn't stop her from becoming the slave of pain.

I could hear Jad talking, but his words fell on deaf ears. I can't hear or think about anything except for her.

Dread twisted in my stomach. She's going to wake up, but what will be her condition?

I didn't even realize when I began walking away from Jad, but I found myself inside our room. Her eyes were shut, but tears streamed down her cheeks, her chest heaved, and her grip was so tight on the sheets.

The sound of footsteps echoed, and I snapped my gaze at the entrance.

Oh, Melinda!

“Will she be alright?”

Her voice cracked with emotions. I turned my attention to Evelyn again.

Will she be alright?

The question lingered in my brain more than it was supposed to.

“Let's just hope so…”

A painful tightness wrapped around my throat. After what Evelyn tried to do that day, I couldn't give myself any false hope, but if I lose hope, what will happen to her?

My eyelids felt suddenly heavier, and liquid began to well up; I blinked.

I can't be weak right now; I need to be strong for her.

Silence echoed in the room; Melinda had settled on the couch, resting her head against it.

The sound of my phone ringing pierced through the silent room. Slipping my hand in my pocket, I yanked out the phone. Without looking at the caller ID, I slid to the green button and brought the phone to my ears.

“We've found her.”

Dave's voice rang across the phone.

“Take her to the basement.”

I hung up the call. With one last glance at Evelyn, I strode out of the room and halted my steps at the door.

“Call me if anything happens.”

With that, I made my way downstairs and found Jad seated on the couch.

“They have found her; please stay here and let me know if anything happens…”

“Definitely, go and teach her a lesson she'd never forget.”

I nodded at Jad’s words, and I made my way out of the room.

After thirty minutes of driving, I halted my car in front of the basement and pushed the door open before I stepped out.

I made my way inside.

There she was, seated on the chair, both hands and feet tied behind her.

Her gaze rushed to me at the sound of my footsteps, and a smirk stretched across her lips.

She had the nerve to even smirk after what she did.

My chest squeezed with pity for her. I didn't even have the strength to punish her deeper. But she shouldn't be in Evelyn's life; she doesn't deserve to, and I won't allow her to keep on hurting her.

“My mission has been accomplished. I don't care if you kill me now, but your Evelyn is definitely going to lose her mind.”

Priscar’s voice is laced with sarcasm. Her gaze twinkled with satisfaction.

The sound of my racing heartbeat echoed in my ears. She doesn't regret it; she's happy with what she did, and even death wasn't going to make her realize her mistake.

I clapped my fingers, and Dave rushed to me.

“Get me an acid…”

My voice is void of any emotions, and my gaze didn't leave hers.

The smirk on her lips was wiped off at my words. I'm not going to make this any easier for her now that she's made it clear that she's not afraid of death. Now she's going to yearn for it, but it will not come.

“I want you to think about everything you've done to Evelyn and Melinda every single day of your life.”

I yanked my gun out of my wristband. The clicking sound rang in an empty space, pulling the trigger.

My gaze locked with hers as I released two bullets; she screamed her lungs out as the bullets pierced into her skin, blood gushing out.

I didn't give her a chance to feel the pain and shot at her other leg with two bullets.

The empty space turned into chaos as her screams and gunshots rang across the door in a deafening noise. But it didn't stop me from adding more bullets to my gun and shooting her in both hands.

Her eyes were now red with tears, her screams increasing. By the time Dave returned with the acid, I mercilessly poured it into both her eyes, causing her to be hysterical.

“Dump her somewhere near the hospital but not too close. I want her to suffer for a few hours before she gets the help she needs.”

“Yes, sir…”

Dave said.

Without uttering another word, I began making my way out of the basement.

I want her to think about everything she'd done to Evelyn and Melinda. I wanted her to regret it for as long as she lived, and I was well aware that she was going to regret it.

No one gets to hurt my Evelyn and get away with it; even death wasn't enough to punish a person who dares to try, and she was unfortunately the person I've used as an example, and now everyone will know what will happen if anyone dares to touch my wife.

As I reached home, each muscle in my body went cold, and I froze on the floor.
