Chapter 4

Logan's POV

Logan woke up a little disoriented. He had expected to feel the warmth of the woman he had brought home last night next to him. But not a thing. The bed was empty, and there was nothing that could suggest that she was here the previous night.

He frowned. Usually, he had to chase them away with a stick. They never wanted to leave. But her—she had left. No note. No panties as souvenirs. No phone number with a smiley next to it. It was shocking, and, if Logan was being frank, from her, it was kind of disappointing. Which was really weird because he had not spent more than five hours with her.

Logan’s time with her was one of the most he had ever enjoyed myself in an evening—actually, it was the most fun he had ever had for one evening. As soon as he got into the bar, Logan knew that he had to have her. She was beautiful. She was fresh. She was everything you would never expect to find, not at a bar anyways.

When he spoke to her, it was clear that she was definitely a breath of fresh air. It was in the little things: the way she grimaced when she took a sip of the drink she had ordered (Logan wanted to taste those lips and remove the vile taste from her mouth), the fascinated way in which she stared at the dance floor (it almost made him want to dance with her—Logan hated dancing), her smart mouth and sexy laugh.

She was a combination of things, and Logan knew just how much he would regret it if he didn't have her. She was inexperienced, that much was noticeable. What with the way she scrunched her face when she took a sip out of the entirely too strong drink she was drinking, the way she stared at the people on the dance floor like she was seeing people dance for the first time, and her wonderful awkwardness that was visible even under the haze of alcohol bravery.

He fully expected to get a drink thrown in his face when he suggested they have sex. And he wouldn't even have been pissed. But when she actually agreed, he was in heaven. It took all he had not just take her hand, push her against the bar, and claim her in front of everyone—to show them that she was his. Logan didn't know where such barbaric and possessive thoughts were coming from.

The car ride was silent, and to the bystander, it would have seemed like he didn't care. But he started feeling nervous, and that was a feeling he never got. Logan was a part of the mafia; he had made kills without batting a lash. So going home with a tiny woman who had the most perfect hourglass shape he had ever seen in his life was not supposed to make him nervous.

This was not the first time he was taking someone back home with him, and it definitely would not be the last. Actually, this was the first time one of his one-night stands was going to see the walls of his apartment. But it didn't mean that this was his first rodeo. This was his way of letting out steam.

Logan adjusted his hard-on discreetly, the same boner he had developed when he saw just how beautiful her body was. It took all the restraint he had not to go cave man on her and claim her like he was thinking of doing in front of the whole bar. She was beautiful. Even more beautiful than he had thought. He couldn't wait to see her (and her body) under decent lighting.

When they got to Logan’s apartment, he sensed she was nervous as well. He wanted this to be perfect for her. He wanted this to be an experience she would never get to regret. He wanted all the moments they passed together to be engraved in her mind forever.

He also didn't know why he was talking like this. It was a one-night stand. Not a “let's get married in Vegas” kind of thing. There was no need to be sappy. It was just pussy.

It was just pussy, but he didn't expect anything that happened. He didn't expect her to be a virgin. And for some strange reason, the fact that he was the only one who had ever touched her, given her pleasure, and fucked her, pleased him. It was another of his cave man type thoughts, but he couldn't help it.

He also didn't expect her to be so responsive. She was beautiful, and every time hr touched her, a genuine expression of pleasure would cross her face. Her tits were just as generous as he imagined, and her perky ass was just right enough. He could spend days kissing it, touching it. He could spend days fucking her, slow or hard.

But He had been a fool. He didn't ask her name. He didn't ask anything about her. She probably thought he was an ass—which Logan was. And for one of the first times in his life, he found himself regretting his behavior. And he found himself resenting her.

He didn't want her to get the wrong idea. It wasn't going to be a relationship. It was just fucking. So what was the need for knowing her name? There was nothing he regretted now though.

He shook his head. Even if he had her name, what the fuck was he going to do with her name? Look for her? Tell her her pussy was magical and that he wanted another taste? He was an ass but not that much. Besides, she was a virgin. She would probably be going to him after this, and he would never be able to get rid of her. The last thing on his mind was clingy women and their wants. He didn't and couldn't tolerate them, magical pussy or not.

But for a weird reason, when Logan woke up to an empty bed, he felt empty as well. He brushed it off and went downstairs, noting that his brother was home. Had he heard them last night? The girl had been pretty loud. He suddenly grew angry. The only one allowed to hear her screams and moans of pleasure was him. No one else.

"Damn, you sure haven't lost your game," he joked as Logan walked into the kitchen.

He rolled his eyes and walked to the fridge, his mouth set in a thin line.

"Ah, Logan. Yes, Logan," he imitated, then burst into laughter. "I thought you would become trash after not having sex for so long, but you proved me wrong."

"Are you done now, Roman?" Logan asked, his jokes not sounding funny to him.

"Is that a hickey?" he squeaked, and if Logan were not in a shit mood, he would have laughed at his tone. But now it just rung hollow. "You actually let that girl give you a hickey, wow."

"That girl?" he asked, frowning as Roman said it with so much familiarity.

"Yeah…She ran past me this morning," Roman explained. Then, he added, "Cute little thing. Tight body with curves in the right places. Yeah, brother, I understand why you let her mark you."

Logan grew annoyed at my brother's words. In the past, it wouldn't have phased him, and he'd have done nothing. But he had the strange urge to hit him in that moment for talking about the girl…Logan’s girl in that way.

"Don't talk about her," he growled; then, he slammed the fridge door close. If he was being honest, he was annoyed at both himself, Roman, and “that girl,” as he had referred to her. But more at himself. He had met this girl just the previous night, and he was already behaving like a territorial cave man. And at her. He didn't like how she was making him act like a lovesick fool.

"Woah, chill. What crawled up your pants and died?" Roman asked, and Logan felt bad. This was their dynamic. Logan couldn't be pissed at him for something Roman knew was okay by Logan to do. It was a lot hypocritical.

"I…" Logan started, and then he drifted off when something came to mind.

He watched Roman out of the corner of his eye. He was frowning. "What?"

"We didn't use protection," Logan said. He never thought those words would leave his mouth. He was always so cautious about who he fucked. And to not use protection was a big no no in his book.

A lot of the women he slept with knew who he was. And they wanted a taste of the "bad boy." Most were not above faking pregnancies just so they could entrap him, even though he always used protection with them.

"Wait a minute. You didn't use protection. Are you out of your mind?" Roman asked incredulously, and Logan shared his sentiment. He was most likely crazy. That was the only reason he could give to the madness he had committed the previous night.

"I don't know, Roman. I don't know."

"What happened to your condoms? And the one you always keep in your wallet?" he asked, looking at him weirdly.

"Did you forget that I was celibate before last night? What would I be doing with condoms?" Logan had decided to become celibate about three months before, and he had gotten rid of all the reminders of sex. Condoms, toys, and all. The two things that had kept him going were the constant thrill of the job and going out to get alcohol.

He didn't know what exactly happened with that girl the previous night, and I didn't know how she managed to bewitch him. But he came back here with her. And he fucked her bare. He had to admit that it had felt good, better than any other he had ever had.

"Why didn't you ask me?"

"My cock was hard, and I was impatient, Roman. She was right there. Besides, she said she was on the pill."

"And you'll just take her word for it?" he asked skeptically.

"And I'll just take her word for it." He had no other choice. He knew Roman was staring at him weirdly, but he didn't return his stare, just headed up to his room to shower. He needed to unwind and think. A whole lot.

***

Logan watched Roman as he tried to figure out who exactly had been the leak. Their main servers had been hacked, and for a period of ten seconds, all their files were vulnerable. Ten seconds ere enough time for their files to be copied. But they had worked quickly enough and secured the servers again.

Their server base was one of the most protected on Earth. There had been multiple attempts to hack it. But they hadn't succeeded. Until now. Which led Logan to believe that there was someone in their midst that was providing information about their vulnerabilities to all the people who wanted them down and behind bars.

"So I was thinking. Before I say this, don't chop my head off," Roman said and lifted his hands. Logan raised a brow and motioned for him to speak.

Roman was his brother. While he was more laid-back and carefree, his input had helped them a lot. They were a team. Logan was the official heir to the mafia throne, but Roman and he were a team. There was nothing he did that Roman didn't know about.

"Promise you won't rip my head off," he insisted. Logan angled a hard stare at him. Anyone else would have quivered in fear. But this was Roman. He didn't care. He had been at the receiving end of those looks since childhood.

"I promise, Roman. Say whatever the fuck you want to say." Logan was an impatient person. And he was getting on his nerves by turning around the point.

"I…What if it was that girl who leaked everything? The one you came home with?"

Logan dismissed his worry with a wave of his hand. "Can't be her. She didn't know I would be there."

"Brother, look, you've frequented that place every Friday night for the past two weeks. It would be a safe choice to assume that you would be there again last week."

Logan sat up in my chair, suddenly more alert. Roman was making sense, unfortunately. "It's a stretch," he insisted, not wanting to believe that she would do something like that.

"Brother, why was she so in a haste to leave this morning? Usually they stay over, don't they?"

"She was a virgin," he whispered, barely audible.

"And?" Roman pressed, confused.

Logan shook his head. He knew what he meant. People had sacrificed more to take him and the entire organization down. Once there was a lot of money involved, people would do anything to get his attention so they could find his weaknesses.

"It…just doesn't make a lot of sense. How did she know I was going to bring her back home? And how would she have accessed the main computer?"

They had thought it safe to keep the main computer in a nondescript place, and that place was their apartment. No one would ever suspect that it was here.

"I don't know about the bringing her back home part. Maybe she was just taking a chance. And as for accessing the main computer, have you ever heard of a hacker in your life?" Roman asked. Logan remained quiet. "Look, Logan, I'm not saying for sure it's her. But it just seems so weird and so coincidental. We definitely have to keep our options open."

He nodded at Roman. What he was saying made a lot of sense. And it was true that the coincidence was a very special one. They were hacked just the afternoon after he had brought her to his apartment. He was not a believer in fate or whatever that stupid crap was. He did not believe in luck and coincidences.

"What's her name so we can look up some more information on her?" Roman asked.

Logan stayed quiet. What could he tell his brother?

He was so pussy to ask her name because he thought she was going to end up making him obsessed and he was going to look her up?

That was going to sound ridiculous. So he said, "She didn't give it to me."

But Roman knew him more than he gave him credit for and guffawed. "No way! You didn't ask her name?"

Logan frowned at him. "So what if I didn't ask her name?"

"Was her pussy so magical that you forgot common courtesy and manners?" Roman laughed, and he fought the urge to punch him. He was his brother, and he was still valuable. He didn't want him hurt.

"Shut up, Roman." Logan settled for a veiled threat so he could know he was serious. Roman stopped with the verbal jabs, but his guffaws were annoying the shit out of him.

"Roman…" he started, realizing something.

"Yeah?"

"She asked for my name. And I gave it to her."

"I don't see how that is relevant."

"My full name, you dumbass," Logan said. He watched as realization dawned on his features.

"Do you believe in coincidences, brother?" he asked, out of the blue.

"I don't," was Roman's answer. Logan smiled grimly.

"Neither do I. I'm going to find this woman. And she is going to tell me everything that she knows and everything she was sent to do."

For a strange moment, Logan felt betrayed, almost hurt. But he swallowed it. All he needed was a name. And he was going find that out. Then he was going to find her. And he was going to teach her why exactly you did not mess with Logan Sanders and the mafia.
