Chapter 45 A Pretentious Call

Chapter 45 A Pretentious Call
Helena’s husband asked her worriedly, “Did you see the interview, Dear? William just openly declined that marriage,”

“Really?”

“Hmm. Why is that?”

“I don’t know but…” She sighed, growling under her breaths, “She deserves it, I warned her already to stay away from him after all,”

On the other hand, Peach also saw it and arched an eyebrow, almost intrigued by that impish chuckle William emitted.

“Is everything alright, Ma’am?” Her assistant asked.

“Of course, in fact, things are about to get thrilling, and this time,”

Waving her hand gracefully, she merely flashed a mischievous smirk.

“I won’t lose,”

IN LONDON,

Inclined on his throne in his ravishing and opulent cabin, resting his one leg over the other, the dashing billionaire was engrossed in his work.

Returning after his vacation and with a load over his head, solely focused on the screen of his laptop.

“You called, Sir?” The manager of the apartment where he lived came.

“Did you remove all the cameras from my floor?”

“Yeah, according to your orders, we removed all the cameras, alarms, and emptied all the other apartments too. That floor is all yours with complete privacy.”

Humming to himself with a questionable smile lingering on his lips as within between the rapid typing, his eyes strayed… towards the second screen.

A hidden camera to his lounge so he could keep a keen eye so that Arabella won’t do anything stupid like… escaping or finding help.

“Are you sure you removed all the cameras?”

He let out a suppressed chuckle.

Glancing at the other screen from time to time where his beloved was sitting on the couch, hugging the cushion.

“Yes, Sir, is everything alright?”

“Hmm. Good job. You may leave now,”

He had immaculately secured that floor.

The elevators won’t work without the pass, the door of the stairways was locked, soundproof walls.

All other apartments were empty with no cameras to see what was happening there, she was indeed his perfectly captured prey.

As he enjoyed both watching her and working, his phone rang and it was Arabella’s father.

He didn’t pick it up at first but when he called again, he unwillingly attended it.

“Hello,”

“Ah, hello son, how are you? How is Bella? Did you arrange the sim for her yet? We want to talk to her, we were missing her a lot,”

“Oh yeah, I was actually really busy, I had no time for it. I will arrange a new phone and sim for her since she lost her previous one,”

“She lost it? Ah, her and her habits of losing things. Do you know she used to forget her jewelry and things too. She even misplaced her prom dress,”

Mr. Dew laughed, unaware none of it was lost or misplaced, rather in someone else’s possession.

They just assumed she was absent-minded and didn’t care for her things.

“Really?” He also acted proficiently.

“Yeah, ah, that girl… She is too dumb for this world.”

“Don’t worry, I am here for her now. Nothing can harm or hurt her, she is my most precious after all,”

He smirked darkly, blowing a kiss at her image through the screen, feasting his eyes.

“Please, William, take care of her.” Mr. Dew whispered sincerely.

Voice breaking a little too because no matter what, she was their daughter in the end and they were worried how she would adjust in a foreign land.

“I will,”

“And please give us a call when you go back. We will be waiting, we want to see her,”

“Sure. I am working now, I will talk to you later, Mr. Dew,”

“Okay, take care. Bye,”

After a tiresome day at work, he returned home, Arabella made dinner only for herself and was eating calmly, glaring at him when he returned.

He saw and smiled mockingly at her, just to piss her off that he couldn’t care less about it.

To which she scoffed, rolling her eyes and continued eating, cursing him in her heart endlessly.

Ignoring her looks, he went to the room and freshened up.

After changing into his casual wear, he sighed, doing the dishes she left on the table first and made dinner for himself as well as she watched him from the corner of her eyes.

‘Will he complain? Hmph, why which right he would? Why the hell will I do anything for him in the first place?’

Thinking sourly, she rolled her eyes as he served his food and took a seat beside her.

To her discomfort, she was about to get up and leave but he grabbed her arm, forcing to remain attached to his shadow.

“Bella,”

She didn’t reply, trying to remove his hand which he didn’t allow.

“Your parents want to talk to you, here. Say hi and don’t try to act oversmart,”

Warning her clearly, he took out his phone, leaving her arm gradually which she rubbed roughly to eradicate the sensation of his touch.

He couldn’t help but to smirk emptily.

Calling her parents and latching his other hand to her shoulder to display false affection while eating.

She was glaring constantly at him when her parents picked the call.

“Hello, Bella, how are you?” They asked happily, grinning.

Blowing a kiss at her but she didn’t react and to not evoke suspicion, William stopped eating and held the phone.

“She is fine, how are you guys?”

“Good. Ah, what is this, Bella? What’s with your condition? You are newlywed, at least put on some lipstick. Why don’t you tell her something, William?”

Her mother sighed when she was in her pajamas, hairs untidy and a constant frown.

“What can I-”

“I don’t want to live with William, Mama, Papa, take me home.”

William was about to cover up but losing her posture, having zero expectations nonetheless, she snapped, finally turning to them with tears coming near her eyelids.

“He is not what he shows! He is a liar! He is crazy!”

She shouted and William dropped his jaw with incredulity as if it was the most astonishing thing he heard.

“What?”

“Just because we have a fight, Bella, doesn’t mean you can complain like this,” He sighed, forcing his charming smile, trying to cup her hand but she slapped it away.

“Stop lying! Stop your act! He is psycho, Papa! He-”

He continued the act too then, “Oh, just because I have liked you for a long time, I am a psycho? I have madly loved you, Bella-”

“Papa, don’t listen to him, please,”

Her voice broke, turning to her parents that were watching with confusion.

Unsure who to believe but since Arabella never had a strong bonding, they were perplexed and found her wrong.

“You guys are adults, don’t fight. Bella, come on-”

Frustrated, she whimpered, “Y-You guys are not getting it,”

“Come on, don’t humiliate me before them. I am sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Dew, Arabella becomes hurtful sometimes,”

“Stop acting, asshole-”

“Arabella, please! Stop doing this to me-”

And perfectly showing himself as a victim who was being heartbroken by her talks, whose heart she was piercing, he cut the call, throwing the phone away.

Scowling, she shifted away from him.

Rubbing his temples for a few seconds. Exhausted to display wrath, he exhaled to vanish his anger and gave a dead look.

“Done with another useless attempt?”

“I hate you! I fucking hate you!”

Hissing, she slammed her hands down and left for the room furiously, leaving him all alone in the dark night as he scoffed, unaffected by her pain and had dinner calmly before going back to sleep.
