Chapter 44 Playing Catch
In London, the poor girl mindlessly fell into his trap, she left her friend, her lover, her job and country too… as his chattel.
‘How foolish of me to believe in him. What was I thinking?’
Now everything started to make sense.
Her choosing him, losing Luke, Helena, she left in a way that everyone would believe she was living happily with William while in reality.
She was caged in his room like a non-living thing.
Hugging her knees close to her chest, tears glistening on her cheek when she was all alone in the room as William left for work.
The second he was gone, she lost it, she got out and began to bang on the door outrageously.
“LET ME GO!”
“OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR!”
“HELP ME!! HE-”
The door unlocked as the sturdy man appeared.
Afraid of his superior form returning, her steps stumbled, holding the hem of her dress as he hissed.
“Done with your petty attempts?”
With retreating steps, her burning gaze glared at the unbothered man who kicked the door close.
“LET ME GO, ASSHOLE!”
“I SAID LET ME-” And he lost it.
“KEEP YOUR FUCKING VOICE DOWN!”
Twisting her arms, he pinned her against the nearest wall, pulling it more to which she shrieked in pain as the tear she held back flowed.
Pressing his chest harder into her back, his grip on her was iron, jaw clenched to show his discontent for not remaining ‘quiet’.
Hovering, she could feel her pumping heartbeats when his lips touched her ears, breathing heavily that sent an unnerving shiver down her spine.
“Bang on this door again and I will tie you to the bed next time, woman,” Hissing, he threw her inside the room.
Causing her to fall on the ground, absolutely afraid of his dark side where he looked down at her with heartless eyes, pointing his finger warningly at her.
“Don’t make me lock you, I will, with zero regret,”
“You can’t cage me, you psycho. I will tell everyone what a disgusting person resides behind this charming façade,” She hissed, inhaling sharply to not bow before him.
“Oh really? What will you do? Tell me, huh?”
Smirking maliciously, he shifted to one knee, grabbing her ankle to pull her body to his that made her whimper.
Desperately slamming her hand down to catch onto something but to no avail when his strong body hovered over her trembling one with no chances to run.
“Let me go, don’t touch me,”
The discomfort of his touch, the fear, everything worsened as she ripped his wrist away, scowling at his face.
“I.. will leave… away… far away from you…”
“But where will you run, little mouse?”
Laughing at her agonizing enunciation, he released her, standing up once again. His unfathomable eyes observing her for the next few moments.
How she curled to hide herself from his unstoppable shadow, how her body was weakened, shattered dreams and he had zero concerns about that.
“In fact, why don’t you try escaping? Go away, leave,”
She blinked, taking support from the wall to stand, not trusting his words at all.
“Huh?”
Smirking devilishly, he inclined on the couch, resting his one leg over the other dominantly while deciding to suck further entertainment from his new ‘collection’.
“There you go. Run away from me, I am giving you two minutes,”
The second he snapped his fingers twice, barefoot, she ran out of the apartment. Wanting to find anyone or anything that could help her leave this predicament.
She first ran to the elevator, banging on it but it required a card granted only to residents of the building which was in William’s wallet.
She ran back, checking his office bag and saw William twirling the card around his fingers, teasing her.
“Looking for it?” He smirked wickedly and threw it out of the window, “Ops,”
She growled, “You…”
“Don’t worry, I have a spare hidden with me. Want to check my body… if you have time, that is,” He chuckled darkly, resting his chin over his knuckles, enjoying this sight.
“Shit…!!”
Hissing, she ran and decided to knock on all the doors possible at the floor, shouting for help as her mind began to throb, worried about the time.
“Open the door! Help me!”
Her hair was messy, breathless, devastated as the cold floor made her heart hammered against her chest with tears stealing her sight.
“HELP!”
“Is anyone there!? Call the cops, please!”
“Help!”
Pulling her hair when all her endeavors resulted in failure, she ran to find a fire alarm, to find anything and saw the emergency exit at the end of the corridor.
“Time’s up,”
William’s voice echoed in the empty halls, frightening her and not thinking twice, she ran down, rushing to go down the stairs but… it was locked.
“Shit, shit, shit,”
His faint footsteps became louder, he was walking steadily towards her. She could feel light-headed, her knees becoming numbed, hitting the locked door.
Leaning on it weakly, she broke into a painful sobbing to be used and she fatuously played along his card.
“Gotcha,”
Snickering, his large hands gripping her shoulder in a tight, painful grip, enhancing the sound of her sobbing, declining his touch.
“Leave me! Argh! Let me go!”
“Oh, you don’t know… this whole building is mine. I have got too much to spend so I emptied this whole floor just for us,”
Pressing her into his strong body, chuckling at her hard attempt that resulted in failure.
He thoroughly enjoyed witnessing her run around the corridors barefoot, creating a worthwhile sight for him.
He. Loved. It.
“See, how much I adore you, I created this whole space for us to play,”
Forcefully pecking her neck, he began to pull her body back from the emergency exit.
She watched being pulled away from it as if her hopes were being blown away, losing all her expectations and strength, crying at her fate that tied her to this unassailable man.
“Ah, I had fun playing catch with you. But, we will play longer next time, baby, I have to work too,”
“Fuck you,”
Without a warning, his amusement faltered, not preferring her mouthing off to him and giving her hair a harsh yank, dragging her back to their apartment.
“Come here!”
Taking her back to their so-called home, he threw her on the couch, loosening his tie and placing his knee between her legs, horrifying her to perceive what he intended to do.
“Now, stay the fuck there,”
Mumbling huskily, his muscular body was over her, pressing her down further on the couch.
“Do- Don’t come near, or else I will scream-”
Shaking violently, she shook her head in denial, placing her hand in between to stop him from advancing but with a vile smile, he held her wrist.
“Scream,”
Her eyes widened when he challenged her, stopping right at her ears with a suppressed, dangerous laugh.
“Do it, let me hear your screams too. Because in these soundproof walls, only ‘I’ can hear you anyways,”
Brick by brick, he was crushing her until she couldn’t help but to subjugate, he required her obedience, her string attached to his tips to do as he pleased.
And all of it was hurting her profoundly. With a few tears rolling down, she hit his chest, pushing him away from her.
“Now, I am going back to work, we will have the whole night to ourselves when I return. Show this drama and tantrum then,”
