Chapter 45: Sending her out

Jaxon's POV:

I pushed the car door open and hacked a fist straight at the first reporter to leap at me immediately I stepped out. He doubled over with his equipment crumbling to the ground in a heap.

“Barry, get these nuisances out of my property.” I bellowed at the head of my security guards that had run over to the garage with a few other security personnel.

“Yes sir. I'm sorry, sir.”

“Haul them all out. All of them, anyone that puts up resistance use force if you have to. Get them all out!” I added, frowning at the reporters buzzing about.

I was one hundred percent sure, Evan had a hand in their presence here. Because none of them could have possibly slipped into the premises without any interference from my security team.

I balled my fist as I watched the last of them get hauled out through the gate, all their equipment confiscated at the security post.

Reene walked up to me, putting her phone away. “The District attorney is personally taking up the case sir. Everything will be sorted out in no time.”

I grunted my approval, while tearing my gaze from the gate and glaring at the house— where that..

I sucked in my breath to calm my beating pulse and the blood surging through my veins.

“Wait for me here.” I muttered to Reene and made for the pavement leading to my corridor, I marched up the stairs and reached the door in no time. With a firm hand on the doorknob. I eased myself in.

The lights in the sitting room were still on and the television had been turned on with the volume all the way up but there was no sign of Evan on the empty couch or in the bar or the dining. I circled back into the living room and my eyes fell back to the television. A striking lady with dark brunette hair was anchoring the news and chattering away nonstop.

But that was not what piqued my interest. My eyes fell on the picture of me, carrying and kissing Evan who had her legs and hands wrapped round me, the latter circling my lower torso. While both hands held my head.

This was clearly taken from last night!

I closed my eyes and sucked in a deep breath before opening them again.

On the other corner of the broadcast was a picture of me holding the car door for Laura.

Underneath the photos a blaring red headline read: The Billionaire's dark side.

What the fuck were these people printing about me.

I clenched my fist again as my eyes narrowed on the reporter and I picked up what she was saying.

“..Our billionaire playboy has resurfaced again and this time he is hitting the tabloids. Many people are asking what exactly is going on with him after being seen in the company of two women; Laura Jacobs the Popular singer VIXEN and his girlfriend Evan..”

“She is not my girlfriend!” I burst out, and dashed towards the table. I picked up the remote control and turned it on the television set.

I pressed my thumb against the red turnoff button in a frenzy. But the Television set kept on playing impervious to my continuous attempts to end the outrageous broadcast.

What the fuck is wrong with this?

I slapped the device against my palm with a frown.

“I took out the battery earlier on because it was dead.” Someone spoke behind me: Evan.

I wheeled around and my glare landed on her at the foot of the stairs.

“You're just in time.” I muttered, dropping the remote back on the table with a thud.

She shook her hair from her face and smiled pleasantly. “Are you planning a surprise for me, babe?” She asked in a low sultry voice.

I scowled, walking up to meet her.

Who the fuck was her Babe?

Definitely not me.

And I told her that. “I'm not your fucking babe, Evan.”

She looked alarmed as I drew closer and slowly backed away. I kept walking closer, too close. She collapsed against the wall, her eyes staring up at me in fright.

Our faces were just an inch apart when I halted in my tracks. I slammed one hand into the wall beside her, making her jump and shaken up.

Good!

I raised my other hand to her face and drew a straight line to her chin, another circle. She shivered under my touch.

“Why did you do that?” I asked still stroking her face, my voice forced into a calm tone masking the anger surging through every vein in my body.

Our eyes met and remained there, I stared into her green warm eyes and the urge to crush her under my palm, to strangle her, to break that beautiful face apart and mark her with several scars and bruises almost took over me. But I held it in and just watched her. My hands still drawing circles over her face, stroking her up.

She lowered her head, breaking our gaze. I snaked a finger round her chin and forcefully lifted it back up to face me.

She had to face me and not stab me from the back!

Whatever bullshit she wanted to dish out, she should say it to my face!

“Why did you do that?” I repeated the question, only this time, there was no pretended calmness— the anger surging through made my voice shake and heavy.

Her lips parted. Good, she was talking.

Because she had a fucking hell lot of things to answer to!

“I did it for us.”

I blinked, narrowing my eyes on her.

“Us?” I asked slowly. Dangerously.

She nodded.

“There is no us.” Maybe she had forgotten. “Whatever we had, had long ended months ago. There's no fucking us, ANYMORE!”

“I'm not giving up on us without a fight.” She shot back, meeting my glare with an equal glare, shaping her almond eyes into bows.

I barked a laugh. She really had to be delusional, to think there was something like us ever getting back together.

Not after that scandal she pulled today.

Not ever!

I brushed my thumb against her lips wiping off a portion of her thick red lipgloss. She stared at me her face conflicted.

I leaned closer, closing the gap between us— she arched forward. But I ignored her half parted lips and bent over her neck, placing my mouth against her ear.

The smell of her hair shampoo filtered into my nostrils, but this only fueled my anger and disgust towards her.

I was only letting her off this time, because we once had something beautiful together. Even though that wasn't for long. Even though that also didn't end beautifully like it started.

It was just because of that.

“Go upstairs.” I whispered, my voice deliberately low. “Pack everything that belongs to you. Don't leave anything, not one thing behind.” I paused, feeling her shoulders stiffen against me.

I continued. “I want you out of my house in the next five minutes.”

“But I haven't found a place yet..” She began.

I drew back from her and now not making any attempt to mask my anger. “That. Is. None of. My. Damn. Business.” I jerked a hand to the stairs as I spoke, ignoring her pleading and teary eyes.

“Please..”

“Now!” I barked startling her.

She leaped to the stairs in one quick motion.
